She’s treat motivated and eager to learn.     Home Recommendation: Gianna would do best in an active home. Gianna has a typical German Shepherd temperament with regards to new people…a little cautious.   At home however she is sweet, spunky and full of energy.  She loves her people with her whole heart and is completely devoted to them.    She loves to play fetch, will be your constant companion and will love you like no other dog has!   Gianna is absolutely amazing and will make a wonderful addition to her forever home.    If you’re interested in meeting this amazing pup, please fill out an application at www.pawprintsnky.com. Her listing will be removed as soon as he has an approved application Most importantly, please be honest!  We have many people tell us what they think we want to read, not what's truthful.  If there are discrepancies, your application will be denied.  It's important for us to place dogs in a home that's suitable.  You may be a stellar owner but possibly not a good fit for the dog you were first interested in adopting.  We're not trying to offend anyone, we're trying to set everyone up for success.    We're a best fit rescue and will verify your vet and personal references.  October 12, 2024, 12:11 pm

Story
Meet Jinx! If you’re looking for a fun, spirited, and loyal adventure buddy — Jinx might just be your perfect match! This gorgeous 2–3-year-old Husky/Great Pyrenees mix weighs about 60 pounds and has all the best traits of both breeds: beauty, brains, and a whole lot of personality! Jinx is spayed, up to date on shots, heartworm negative, house trained, and walks well on a leash. She’s a high-energy girl who loves to play hard and run fast — sometimes so fast you’ll swear she’s part bunny with the way she hops and jumps! Because of her playful style, she’d do best in a home with a fenced yard where she has room to stretch her legs and burn off energy. Jinx gets along great with other dogs, though her enthusiasm can be a bit much for calmer or senior pups. When she’s in full play mode with another dog, she can get a little rambunctious and has accidentally knocked over a child who was in the middle of the action — so supervision and space during dog playtime is important. That said, Jinx is incredibly gentle, patient, and kind with children. She is currently living with toddler foster child who is still learning how to properly interact with animals. Even with his grabbing (which her caregivers are actively working to correct), Jinx has remained calm and tolerant. She truly has a sweet and forgiving nature with kids. She’s also good with cats, making her a great fit for many multi-pet homes. True to her Husky roots, Jinx loves to “talk” and share her thoughts in the most adorable ways. She’s sweet, loving, and full of life — just needs someone who can match her energy and give her the exercise and attention she deserves. Jinx can be shy or fearful around men, which suggests she may have had a rough experience in the past, but with patience and kindness, she warms up and shows what a wonderful dog she truly is. She’s not destructive — though she might sneak a chew on a toy when left alone — and she’s always ready to love and be loved. Jinx is ready to hop, play, and chat her way into your heart — could she be your new best friend? January 28, 2026, 10:30 am

Story
SAAP Nation, please welcome Walter!    Walter was surrendered to the shelter after living his life on a chain/in a pen. He then spent over 100 days at the shelter before coming to SAAP.   The shelter worker loved him so much, she cried when she found out he was going to rescue. He has been with us about a month recovering from teeth extractions, a skin infection, and an upper respiratory infection, but I am thrilled to report that he is now healthy and ready for adoption! He is close to 80 pounds and looks to be some type of husky mix.   Walt is a miracle dog to me - after spending his life outside, one would expect him to be unsocialized at best, unadoptable at worst...but this guy loves people. He loves toys. He loves the couch. HE LOVES FOOD. He will snuggle, he will be your shadow and follow you throughout the house. He has done well with my daughter, is not scared of men or strangers, does fine in the crate but absolutely can be left out, is housebroken, and loves to meander around the yard smelling the smells and taking on the sights.    He ignores our cat completely and has done well with the dogs here (with the exception of our very large 100% blind dog who mows down everyone in his path...he is NOT a fan of that. So Walt would need to be with dogs that respect his space and cues. If they do, they will get along swimmingly). He also sleeps with tongue out and has a mustache!!!!   Walt is so deserving of a loving family - apply to #AdoptWalter at www.adoptastray.com or reply to your approval email to meet him.January 27, 2026, 9:11 pm

Story
She is a great dog and very friendly however due to her old age and my current health situation I am unable to give her proper care during these last few years of life. She has a GI mass which has caused her to be underweight and can only eat set quantities of food without issues but she still like to be pet and play.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. This beauty is Sasha. Sasha was left behind at a hotel in San Antonio.  Her family had been a guest and decided to leave her behind when they left.  Lucky for her, the hotel called our vet and asked for help.  This beauty is very smart and active.  She  needs a family that is going to keep her busy.  This breed has to have a job to be happy.  Are you looking for a walking or running buddy?   Do you think you would like to enter working dog classes in your spare time?  If so, this is your girl. She needs an active  family to walk with, play with in the back yard, and run around chasing toys. Sasha is about 2 years old, 58 pounds and $300 to adopt. This dog is currently in Texas; however, it can be transported to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Chicago, Des Moines, Omaha, Cincinnati, Lexington KY or all along the East Coast. If transported, there is an additional transport fee of $250. We do not transport to Rhode Island or Massachusetts due to their regulations. Please go to our website to complete an application at www.adoggie4you.orgVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 17, 2025, 4:13 pm
