Blue the husky is obviously a looker! He’s probably a year old and 50# of hair, and LOVE!! He is crate trained, knows how to sit and recently learned to give hugs- must LOVE HUSKY HUGS!! He’s very dog friendly, likes cats a little too much and will chase or sometimes play too rough but he isn’t trying to hurt them, but for everyone' s sake he will go to a no kitty home. Blue had been roaming the neighborhood for months then eventually made a best friend named Benji= the ADORABLE terrier ;) After months of them visiting all the homes who poured cat food and water he started to let me pet him and that was because he would watch me with my foster at the time while we’d be out on walks. He had a rough time before being in the neighborhood, apparently in his first "home" he was yelled at all the time and so he is sensitive to new people as well as brooms and belts :( He’s still an affectionate dog the more I get to know him but of course he will require lots of patience as he begins to build his trust back with humans.Right now his favorite thing to do is play and be a part of pack. He enjoys all of the other dogs in the house. he even smiles at me from time to time. He’s also been known to let out a some decent howls when I’m arriving home from work, so if you love the WHOOWHOOWHOO of a husky boy, he is the ONE!! He needs a quieter home, no young children but older are fine. He needs patience and support as he builds up his confidence and trust. He has it in him!! I love other dogs and must be adopted with another calm/confident dog please. My new owners need to be patient and great at building confidence in me, as I never was loved on as a pup so I am still nervous with new people and in new situations. I was found by my "owner" many years ago, but was abandoned by him when he broke up with his girlfriend and she inherited me..to put it nicely..... THEN, she couldn't keep me and I came to the rescue..... I am 6 yrs old but my eternal puppy face" can be misleading. However, I play like a puppy and am GREAT with other dogs! I am a gentle and happy girl who deserves my own family again! I was found tied to a tree by a rescuer and she saved me! I guess i was kind of like an unloved and dejected lioness, waiting for saving. And I was... Found at the side of a country road (very common dumping ground, next to the railroad tracks), and saved by a wonderful "foster" and her husband and son and other doggy friends :) We started living like REAL loved puppies the day she saved us!! We are learning potty training and are crate trained experts!! We are leash training as well, but you have to understand.... we were never loved, never lived IN a home and NEVER had ANYONE CARE!!! So, potty trained or not, we are over the moon (and so is our foster mom). But now it is time to find our furever homes! We love and play very well together and would be ideal as a pair, but do NOT have to be adopted together. We need another calm and confident dog to keep us happy/played with and to teach us all we need to know about being loved pups :) We are gorgeous pups and our coats will accent your hair :) ADOPT...DON'T SHOP!!! Dakota is a handsome name, kind of a "rugged" kind of name, right?? I am kind of a REFINED RUGGED kind of boy! For instance, I am a busy boy, I love playing and running with my doggy friends, however, I can lay at your feet very sweetly to beg for your attention. I am kind of like a "reverse" planter as well. I mean, you plant it and i will un-plant it for you :D I won't do it often, just when I want your attention and I am outside alone. So see?? you have great control over that urge! So I am a food and toy lover too, I eat out of a slow feeder bowl because wolfing down my food is not an option! I am learning all things toys and am actually learning how to bring the ball BACK after you throw it. I am a smart and very sweet boy. I do absolutely have a prey drive so no kitties for small furry mammals around me please. I am fully potty trained and great in a crate. Now i just need you to adopt me to complete my circle of life. Now, before you go all "Lion King" on me, just know that I will be your bestest buddy forever!!
