Hello!!! I am Reuben... oops RUBEN, hold the mustard please! I am NOT a sandwich, I am a dog, if you haven't figured that out yet... I am a cool dog, kind of like a the main ingredient in a reuben sandwich, corned beef- I am a twist on the old favorite, Husky! I am a husky hybrid :) I am a husky mix, beefy and solid with beautiful markings and a personality to go with it! I am a young guy too and have seen a lot in my short life, so now am ready to settle down with the family of my dreams! I have lots of love and energy to spare, and I am so so friendly with everyone I meet. I will make the perfect side dish to the sandwich, so hurry up and order me to GO!!! Good with dogs,
Story
Hi, my name is Odin and I'm looking for my forever best friend! I've had kind of a rough start and it takes me a little bit of time and patience before I know you're my people. You see, I used to have a family, but I lived in the backyard and one day they moved away and didn't even pack me up! I spent six weeks roaming the streets in the peak of Texas summer, a nice couple fed me burgers but I was wary of people and didn't really want anybody approaching me. The friendly rescue people down the street spent time every day checking on me and talking to me until I finally let them put a leash on me. What a relief when I found out that they had all kinds of yummy treats, two meals a day, and AIR CONDITIONING! I am a grumbly husky with a lot to say and it took me a couple weeks before I would let foster mom pet me without grumbling at her. I am very vocal and I don't love new people in my space, but I always let them know. I also don't like to be grabbed, pushed, lifted, or pulled by strangers. My foster mama is bestest friend in the world though and I love to sit in her lap and lean up on her legs when I see her (I call these Odin hugs). She can even restrain me or pick me up if she wants, I know that she would never ever hurt me. I've been making lots of friends you see, and I'm always so excited to see them! I have a foster auntie and I love her so much when she comes over I'm sure to give her lots of Odin hugs. Slowly, I'm learning that there are more good people than bad people and I'm learning to let my walls down faster and faster. I even go to puppy sitting when my foster mom is out of town, and I LOVE those people too! I'm turning into a regular social butterfly, I just need some time getting to know my new friends before I let them into my heart. The coolest thing about being a rescue dog is being a big foster brother to all the other fosters! I get to show them the ropes, my foster mama finds lots of dogs outside. The resident dogs in this house might not remember their previous lives, but I sure do! I'm a great big foster brother and most of the new fosters really look to me for reassurance. I like to play a little rough and it's hard to find friends who will play at my level. I love to grumble and play growl and sometimes the other dogs get confused by my body language. I've watched a couple of my foster siblings get adopted and go to their furever homes, and I'm still waiting for my turn! My foster mama says she would just keep me but she's hopeful that I'll find my very own people who can share their whole world with me!! Odin is a wonderful dog who needs a little patience before he lets his true temperament shine. He is extremely loyal but would thrive in a home with experienced dog owners as he doesn't like to be grabbed, lifted, or pushed, and responds best to positive and upbeat energy. He's eager to please and with a little patience has learned to go into the crate (where he does an excellent job being quiet and settling down) and into the car. He has a lot of energy and would love an active family to take him hiking, walking, or jogging. Odin is a good weight at 75 pounds,is done with HW treatment, and is about 3 years old. If you bring the patience, respect, and treats, Odin will bring the unwavering love and loyalty! Local adoption fee $200 (in TX)

Story
I got Zion almost 2 years ago. He’s a fine dog. I did crate train him as long as he is not in the house for a very long, long time he doesn’t have any accidents indoors. He is used to being in a crate as well. He doesn’t mind it he hasn’t been anyone or had any bad experiences. I have a two-year-old daughter and not once has he ever been aggressive towards her the only bit of aggressiveness he has his when he is near his food but even then he’s never been I have an extremely busy schedule. I travel a lot and I find myself always leaving him at home in his crate and I feel really bad for him. I don’t have a fenced in yard so it’s hard to let him get his energy out … my last dog died he abruptly and I got Zion I think out of emotion and impulsiveness and he deserves someone who can spend more time with him.

Story
Meet Bella! She’s a 2 year old Siberian Husky, and a little one at that. She’s maybe 40 lbs! She is docile, sweet and very loving. Has a young pups energy, but not the typical energy of a husky. She’s actually pretty chill. She does really well with other dogs, actually thrives being in a “pack”. She is very very good with her foster's two year old child as well, they and Bella are the newest best of friends! Bella is spayed, up to date on all shots and in perfect health. She was given some anxiety meds previously, but we’ve been playing around with that-lowering her dose and usuing cues and commands over medication. She’s been responding well. This is a great pup! She is spayed, up to date on shots, and microchipped. Adoption Fee is $250.00

Story
Chester is a handsome boy with a ton of energy. He is looking for a forever that will keep him busy mentally and physically to help him burn off that energy. At 65 lbs he is going to be a big boy so he needs a strong leader that will work with him on manners to help him learn to be his best self. He loves his people and wouldn’t mind a somewhat laid back but still energetic playmate to put up with his boisterous personality. He can be too much for some other dogs. He knows sit, knows where his crate is(but prefers to cuddle on the couch)and is quiet once he is settled in for the night. He does have FOMO (fear of missing out) so if he hears you are home he will start barking until you pay attention to him. Bottom line Chester needs someone who is active, has the confidence to help build his, can provide consistency, patience and most of all love. Strength is also a plus.September 25, 2023, 8:32 pm

Story
*hair blowing in the wind (even though she's indoors)* *unexplained sparkles in the air* *faint heavenly music* Yes, she is me. Chloe. Now that you are blinded by my beauty, let me explain why I am the absolute best girl on the inside too and so deserving of your (and everyone's) undivided adoration. I'm loyal, smart as a whip, and FUN, just to name a few. Unfortunately, I didn't come from the most glamorous beginnings. I was an outdoor doggy with not much interaction from birth and my family also left me behind when they moved. Thus, I wasn't really brought up interacting with you humans or being touched/handled. I've had my quirks while adjusting to being a family dog and will definitely need someone patient and understanding with me. (If you get too touchy right away, I don't like that and will try to protect myself.) However, if you are slow and gain my trust I will HANG on your every move. I have adjusted very quickly in the past with proper introductions to people. Even still, I would probably do best in a home without young children. I'm a lady after all and need time to sniff you out before you get grabby. I am an active girl and love to feel the wind in my hair outdoors too. I run with the speed of light and have a prey drive to sniff out bugs, lizards and more. I also love to play tug of war and fetch with my foster mommy inside. I bounce, bounce, bounce all the time! I am great on leash so walks and hikes would be great for me. Getting my energy out will help me focus on training too. I am very smart and learn quickly, but tend to lose interest if I'm still chock full of go, go, go!! With all of this perfection, all of your pet needs should be fulfilled, right? RIGHT? I hope so because I would do great as an only pet in the home. I have been able to co-exist with dogs at the rescue but I am a bit of a diva in my foster home. I have a domineering personality sometimes and will even mark like a male when I come across another dog's scent in my house. How dare they??? Existing? HERE? (She is otherwise house trained.) Considering that you and I know each other a little better now, you may pet me. Yes, I am very soft, I know. Please keep in mind that I am a Chow/shepherd mix and have hair that will require brushing, maybe even the occasional spa treatment, Swedish massage, 24k gold facials...yeahhhhhhhhhh.... Sorry! I forgot you were here. In all seriousness, once I trust you, I will allow you to brush me out without much fuss. It doesn't need to be daily but I am a rough and tumble kinda gal and can use help keeping my locks flowing and free. I also shed so if I seem to be losing my girlish figure, it's probably just extra hair that needs to be brushed off. I hope you have a strong vacuum. ;) I could go on for days about myself, but I'll stop here. Don't wanna overwhelm you. If you think you are up for the challenge of a total spitfire like me, please feel free to send in an application and foster mommy can tell you more about all of the grandeur that is...CHLOE. Story
Hello, my name is Buster... short for Buster Brown... which seems to fit for me ;) I am a gorgeous color- like when you are painting things in school and you mix the burnt orange in with the brown paint- you get ME!!! I appear to be a Chow mix, my fur is medium length and somewhat fluffy and is so soft!! My face looks square and so KISSABLE!! I am about 70# so not a small boy, I know what I want in life. I have the personality of a goofy boy and smart, independent chow as well in that I LOVE my people, but can be a little reserved until I know I love them!! I came to the pound with horrible injuries to my back end, likely the result of a car accident or a drag accident. My legs were in pretty horrible shape and I was unable to walk for the first couple of days. Now my legs are completely healed over and I have totally forgotten why we are even discussing it!! I have a really strong spirit to have gotten through such awful injuries with the sweet countenance I have. I love my people and am pretty good with other dogs too. I am great in a crate, on a leash, in a house with a mouse too :) (Dr Seuss is my favorite author!!) I am ready for my forever family, I can be a little nervous with people in my face and would really be best with older kids but everyone else is cool!! Look me up and adopt me, you will never regret it- I will make all your dreams come true!! (ok, you will make MINE come true) Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area)

Story
Haku means "pure" in Japanese! I was named for my pure, passionate and overwhelming love for everyone around me! I came to the rescue when my dad was stationed in Japan and heartbroken that he couldn't take me with him. I've missed him so much ever since! Everyday I do the things I did with him with other dogs so I can try and remember what it felt like to be with him! But it's just not the same. So, I'm hoping a new family can come scoop me up and show me what it feels like to be a part of a home and family again! I am good with other dogs, I love playing chase with them or tugging on chew toys. I'll need a happy and active home so that my life will be full of love and fun! I am a bit anxious and nervous around new people, and people in general! Slow introductions, a safe space I can retreat to like a crate and not forcing me into spaces with tons of people will help me be myself all the time! Haku can only be adopted in the local or TX area. Local adoption only, in San Antonio or TX area, $200.
