Story
Meet Quasimodo … aka Quasi, he’s a 5-6 month old husky mix. We named him Quasimodo because he had a little bit of a hunched back lol turns out he doesn’t really have a hunchback but instead, he kind of has two necks… it doesn’t seem to bother him as he acts like a total normal puppy. He’s been to four different veterinarians to be examined so it is just going to remain something special about him. That’s not the only unique thing about him though! He also has a little heart condition that is most common in cats so you get a two for one … a cat dog . Due to the heart condition he will have to be on heart meds for the rest of his life and will need to see a cardiologist at least once a year to keep track of condition. Even though he’s a cute hot mess you would never know because he functions and acts like a typical puppy. He loves everyone and other dogs. He enjoys car rides and visiting places. He does well walking on a harness and he thinks everyone should say Hi to him and give him kisses.  So if you are looking for a husky mix that’s low energy, that loves everyone and everything, that loves water and car rides … look no further.  All of our dogs are spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, microchipped and if over 6 months of age, heartworm tested and on heartworm preventative in their foster home. We require an approved application to meet any of our dogs. We do not have a shelter location and will not arrange a meeting without an approved application. Story
Ollie is a fairly well behaved Husky who needs a very attentive owner who can play with him, give him stuff to chew on, and love him. He's excellent with kids, having shown no aggression at all since he's been with his current family. He came to his current family very nervous and easily flinches at sudden movements, implying past abuse, but despite that, he still comes up happily to recieve pets, head scratches, and belly rubs. He is also a very lazy dog when not in the mood to play, finding a nice comfortable door to lay in front of. Ollie's current family would love to keep him, but with the introduction of a newborn to the house, he unfortunately needs to make a speedy exit, hopefully to a family with no allergies and enough energy to keep up with playtime should he be in the mood.

Story
Meet Sophie! 2 year old Husky mix, spay female, 51lbs Meet Tuppi ❤️ Bully mix, born 3/20/23, spay female, 34lbs Since we have now had the chance to get to know Sophie, I can share what we have learned about her so far! She is a 2-3yr old Siberian Husky, we believe purebred, but we cannot be sure so we listed her as a mix. She is house and crate trained and knows a few extra things, such as, sit, shake and speak. She gets along with all the dogs in her foster home, they range from 6lbs – 75lbs. She isn’t what I would consider a submissive girl, she likes for everyone to follow her rules. A quick reminder that she isn’t the boss usually brings her back down to reality. She is your typical vocal husky, so make sure you are prepared for all the talking she will surely be doing. She also l.o.v.e.s car rides, she doesn’t care where you are going, she just wants to go along. She likes to be with her people and will make a fuss if she isn’t included in your activities. Sophie is one fun dog to be around, I know her family will soon see that as well! Sophie is current on vaccinations, heart worm tested, microchipped, and spay. We are accepting applications at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/SHPA/Dog

Story
Meet Avi! He is the true meaning of rescue. Avi used to live with an abusive owner, until we changed his path! He has come so far, and has been clicker trained, but is still healing and will need a patient adopter who is willing to continue his training. He is about 9 years old and weighs around 55 lbs. He loves everyone he meets, but is not good with children or cats, and doesn't understand why they move so fast. He is slow to trust, but very playful and affectionate once he knows he is safe. Avi will jump a fence that is smaller than 6 ft tall, and will need long daily walks. He currently lives with and loves his boxer bulldog mix foster brother, but knows he is the pretty one! A home with another playful husky or other dog similar in size would be ideal! HUSKY EXPERIENCE REQUIRED. CANNOT BE PLACED WITH CHILDREN OR CATS. If you want to be a part of Avi's recovery and future, and are willing to invest in long term training, apply for him today! His adoption fee is $25. https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/LOUC/Dog All of our animals come spayed or neutered, fully up to date on vaccinations, including rabies (if age appropriate) and Bordetella, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible. We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.

Story
Kai is a 7 year old husky. She is a very good dog and is well trained. She loves to go to the park and swim in the creek. Shes getting older to where she cant hike very long anymore but she still loves to go bye bye. She can sit, shake hands, hop up in the air, lay down, and bark for her food or a treat. Her favorite treats are apples and raw chicken feet. My kids allergies have been getting worse and we took them to an allergist which both of them are allergic to dogs. So I really hate finding a new home for my dog I have no choice now. I really hope i find someone who is really knowledgeable with husky's since they are a different kind of breed.
