Story
Meet Avi! He is the true meaning of rescue. Avi used to live with an abusive owner, until we changed his path! He has come so far, and has been clicker trained, but is still healing and will need a patient adopter who is willing to continue his training. He is about 10 years old and weighs around 55 lbs. He loves everyone he meets, but is not good with children or cats, and doesn't understand why they move so fast. He is slow to trust, but very playful and affectionate once he knows he is safe. Avi will jump a fence that is smaller than 6 ft tall, and will need long daily walks. He currently lives with and loves his boxer bulldog mix foster brother, but knows he is the pretty one! A home with another playful husky or other dog similar in size would be ideal! HUSKY EXPERIENCE REQUIRED. CANNOT BE PLACED WITH CHILDREN OR CATS. If you want to be a part of Avi's recovery and future, and are willing to invest in long term training, apply for him today! His adoption fee is $25. https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/LOUC/Dog All of our animals come spayed or neutered, fully up to date on vaccinations, including rabies (if age appropriate) and Bordetella, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible. We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Sasha has been waiting for her forever home since May 2024, and she's more than ready to find the family she's been dreaming of. This very sweet girl loves people and is happiest when she's out exploring or spending time with her favorite humans. Sasha is smart, active, and knows her basic commands. She loves going on runs, hikes, playing fetch, and staying busy, making her the perfect companion for an active person or family. Because of her breed, Sasha's adopters should understand the needs of intelligent, working dogs. She will do best in an active home with a securely fenced yard, where she won't be left alone for long periods. With plenty of exercise, attention, and love, she'll reward her family with endless loyalty and affection. Sasha's story began when she was left behind at a hotel in San Antonio after her family checked out. Thankfully, the hotel reached out for help, and she's been safe with us ever since. Now all she wants is the loving forever home she deserves. Her adoption fee is $200 and includes her spay, microchip, current vaccinations, 4DX test, ProHeart 12, and Bravecto. Sasha is currently in Texas but can be transported to Washington, Oregon (Portland), Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Chicago, Des Moines, Omaha, Cincinnati, Lexington, KY, and locations along the East Coast for an additional $250 transport fee. (We cannot transport to Rhode Island or Massachusetts due to state regulations.) If you'd like to meet Sasha, the first step is to complete an adoption application at www.adoggie4you.org.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.September 3, 2026, 5:35 pm

Story
Meet Bunny! This beautiful 2-year-old female Husky is looking for her forever home. She’s up to date on all vaccinations, fixed, microchipped, and has tested negative for heartworm. She does well with other dogs, though her behavior around cats and kids is unknown. She enjoys going for walks and spending time outdoors with her people, making her a great match for an active home. She can be a bit shy at first, but once she warms up, she becomes a loyal and loving companion. Like many Huskies, she has a curious and adventurous side and will need a secure yard, as she may dig if left alone. With a little patience and the right environment, she’ll make an amazing best friend.   Stray Haven in an effort to help with the overcapacity of one of their partnering rescues, is crossposting the adoptable pets. Ripley County Humane Society is a beautiful non kill campus, comprised of three buildings on 13 sprawling acres in Osgood Indiana. Due to the remote location, they don't show up in the searches commonly made by adopters because they are just outside for the 30 mile radius of Cincinnati OH, Indianapolis IN and Louisville KY. Please take a look at these beautiful babies and fill out an application at the link below OR drop by their physical location which is open every single day from 12-330 for visitors.   If you would like to meet any of our pets, they are available for viewing, every single day from noon until 3:30pm. If you have other dogs a meet and greet is required. Calling before a long drive is recommended to confirm availability. Ripley County Humane Society, 1202 W County Rd 150 N, Osgood, IN 47037. 812-689-3773  You can fill out an application online at this link - https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/57789/generic . ##2761892##
