Story
Kona is a high-energy, outdoors-loving Husky who’s always up for fun! Whether he`s splashing in a kiddie pool, enjoying a frozen treat, or carrying around his favorite stuffie, Kona brings big personality and tons of affection wherever he goes.Kona has been raised around small dogs and has done well with them. He was socialized with two young children and did great, but he has had a negative experience with unfamiliar neighborhood kids, so we recommend a meet-and-greet with your children to ensure compatibility.Despite his energy, Kona is a gentle, affectionate “lover boy” who just wants to be close to his people and be part of the action—especially if that action includes popsicles and playtime.Kona was housebroken when he arrived, though he may need a refresher due to his time in the shelter. Like most Huskies, he’ll benefit from ongoing training, structure, and plenty of enrichment to help him stay happy and well-behaved.He’s best suited for an active household that can keep up with his energy and provide the outdoor time he loves.Kona would thrive in a husky-savvy, active home where he can explore, play, and cuddle. He’s looking for someone who understands his needs and will give him the love, guidance, and stimulation he craves. If you would like to meet Kona, please stop by SPCA Cincinnati to visit him and all our other adoptable pets.

Story
Meet Avi! He is the true meaning of rescue. Avi used to live with an abusive owner, until we changed his path! He has come so far, and has been clicker trained, but is still healing and will need a patient adopter who is willing to continue his training. He is about 10 years old and weighs around 55 lbs. He loves everyone he meets, but is not good with children or cats, and doesn't understand why they move so fast. He is slow to trust, but very playful and affectionate once he knows he is safe. Avi will jump a fence that is smaller than 6 ft tall, and will need long daily walks. He currently lives with and loves his boxer bulldog mix foster brother, but knows he is the pretty one! A home with another playful husky or other dog similar in size would be ideal! HUSKY EXPERIENCE REQUIRED. CANNOT BE PLACED WITH CHILDREN OR CATS. If you want to be a part of Avi's recovery and future, and are willing to invest in long term training, apply for him today! His adoption fee is $25. https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/LOUC/Dog All of our animals come spayed or neutered, fully up to date on vaccinations, including rabies (if age appropriate) and Bordetella, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible. We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.

WE ARE A TX-BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application at haydudeequine.org 🌙 Meet Amira — The Adventurous Husky Princess Ready for Her Happily Ever After 🌙 (Female • Husky • ~2 Years • ~45 lbs) After raising her beautiful litter with patience, love, and the kind of calm wisdom only a good momma possesses, Amira is officially ready for her chapter — the one where she gets to be the star, the sidekick, the adventure buddy, and the center of someone’s world. At around 2 years old and approximately 45 pounds, Amira is the perfect blend of sweet, friendly, and athletic. She’s got that classic Husky sparkle in her eyes — the one that says, “I love you… but also, I might try to outsmart your fence.” Yes, she’s an escape artist. A graceful, strategic, probably-should-have-her-own-action-movie escape artist. Because of her athleticism and creativity, she’ll thrive in a home that chooses leash walks or adventure outings over backyard alone time. Hiking? Jogging? Exploring? She’s all in. Checking the mail? She’ll come too. Now that her mom duties are done, she wants to be included in all the family goings-on. Amira is wonderful with kids and other dogs, and she carries a calm, reassuring energy — the kind that makes you feel like everything’s a little better when she’s nearby. Cats are still an unknown, but with her affectionate nature, slow and proper introductions could set her up for success. She’s playful, sweet, and deeply loyal. After pouring her heart into caring for her pups, she’s ready to receive that same love back — long walks, warm snuggles, silly moments, and a home that treats her like the amira (princess) she truly is. 🌟 Amira’s Stats: - Female Husky - Around 2 years old - ~45 lbs - Friendly, playful, athletic - Great with kids & other dogs - Cats: unknown - Escape artist — best with leash walks & secure handling - Active, outdoorsy homes are her dream match If you're searching for a stunning, spirited, affectionate dog who will adore being part of your adventures — Amira is ready to step into the spotlight and finally live the good life she deserves. 👉 Apply today at haydudeequine.org — and let Amira be part of every sunrise, every stroll, and every happy moment ahead. 🐾💙

WE ARE A TX-BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application at haydudeequine.org 🐾 Meet Huck – Your Missing Puzzle Piece 🐾 Age: 3 years Weight: 43 lbs Breed blend: Alaskan Klee Kai (compact Husky-type charm!) Huck isn’t just a dog — he’s a ray of sunshine with four paws and a tail. With his playful spirit, gentle nature, happy disposition and love for people and animals, he’s always in good spirits and ready for life’s next adventure. He’s currently living it up with his “siblings” and even the resident cats — and yes, he leaves the kitties in peace. Huck enjoys running, playing with other pups, and being right in the mix of family life. 💡 Fun fact: Huck’s smaller size and striking looks resemble the Alaskan Klee Kai, a breed known for being curious, intelligent, agile, and active — all traits Huck embodies! Huck’s Favorites: 🦴 Toy: His beloved dog bone — though he’s happy to chew on any safe treasure he finds outside. 🤲 Rub spots: Top of his head and belly. 🎭 Cute quirks: Occasionally howls like Snoopy, cocks his head and lifts one paw when curious, and will lean his whole body against you just to soak up as much love as possible. What Huck brings to the table: - Gentle, affectionate temperament - Fabulous with kids, dogs, and even cats - House-trained and knows some basic commands - Loves learning new words (he knows a lot of “human talk” already!) - Active and adventurous — perfect for an outdoorsy family Ideal Home: A fenced yard, other pets or kids to play with, and an active household where he can be part of the action. Huck would thrive with daily exercise and outdoor adventures, whether you’re in town with a yard, out in the country, or somewhere in between. Huck is that last jigsaw piece — the one that will complete your life’s puzzle. If you’re looking for a loyal sidekick, a BFF, and a constant presence to share all your “going ons,” Huck would love to fill that spot. Ready to complete your puzzle? Apply for Huck today at haydudeequine.org and let the fun filled days begin!!
