Story
Meet Sherman !! 3 year old Husky/Poodle mix, neutered male, 57 lbs Hello World, I am Sherman! I am about 3 yrs old now, my story is pretty sad for such a young guy like myself. I used to have a home, I guess that is what you would call the place I came from? You see, my friend Sophie, and I, were dropped off at an intersection in rural Indiana right before a snow storm. Soph, and I stayed in that general area for a few days, we weren’t sure where to go. Being inside of a “house” is all new to me, I am starting to get the hint that going potty inside isn't the best idea! I am, however, crate trained which I hear is a big bonus! I was weighed down by 40lbs of heavy wet matting when we were picked up. I was still holding onto my puppy hair the people said! I am all cleaned up now~ Looking very handsome if I do say so myself! I will need understanding and patience from my new family as I am new to house life. I am very sweet, but a little shy at first, as you can imagine. I have relied on Sophie for direction through all of this, and I am not the most confident guy. If Sophie can’t come with me to my new home, I will be okay, just know I will need some extra patience. I hope I haven’t scared you off with my story, after all, it is my past. If I sound like the kinda guy that might fit into your life, please apply to adopt me! See ya soon! -Sherman Sherman is current on vaccinations, heartworm tested, neutered, and microchipped. We are accepting applications at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/SHPA/Dog

Story
Meet Sophie! 2 year old Husky mix, spay female, 51lbs Meet Tuppi ❤️ Bully mix, born 3/20/23, spay female, 34lbs Since we have now had the chance to get to know Sophie, I can share what we have learned about her so far! She is a 2-3yr old Siberian Husky, we believe purebred, but we cannot be sure so we listed her as a mix. She is house and crate trained and knows a few extra things, such as, sit, shake and speak. She gets along with all the dogs in her foster home, they range from 6lbs – 75lbs. She isn’t what I would consider a submissive girl, she likes for everyone to follow her rules. A quick reminder that she isn’t the boss usually brings her back down to reality. She is your typical vocal husky, so make sure you are prepared for all the talking she will surely be doing. She also l.o.v.e.s car rides, she doesn’t care where you are going, she just wants to go along. She likes to be with her people and will make a fuss if she isn’t included in your activities. Sophie is one fun dog to be around, I know her family will soon see that as well! Sophie is current on vaccinations, heart worm tested, microchipped, and spay. We are accepting applications at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/SHPA/Dog

Story
Meet Avi! He is the true meaning of rescue. Avi used to live with an abusive owner, until we changed his path! He has come so far, and has been clicker trained, but is still healing and will need a patient adopter who is willing to continue his training. He is about 6 years old and weighs around 55 lbs. He loves everyone he meets, but is not good with children or cats, and doesn't understand why they move so fast. He is slow to trust, but very playful and affectionate once he knows he is safe. Avi will jump a fence that is smaller than 6 ft tall, and will need long daily walks. He currently lives with and loves his boxer bulldog mix foster brother, but knows he is the pretty one! A home with another playful husky or other dog similar in size would be ideal! HUSKY EXPERIENCE REQUIRED. CANNOT BE PLACED WITH CHILDREN OR CATS. If you want to be a part of Avi's recovery and future, and are willing to invest in long term training, apply for him today! His adoption fee is $25. https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/LOUC/Dog All of our animals come spayed or neutered, fully up to date on vaccinations, including rabies (if age appropriate) and Bordetella, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible. We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.

Story
Top of the mornin' to ya! It's me Mullen, the most pleasant lad you'll ever meet! You don't hear about many Irish Siberian Huskies now do ya? But, here I am! With my ginger-red coat I am the talk of the town, however, I can only be adopted in my town because I am kind of an anxious kind of fellow. I love other dogs and must be adopted with another calm/confident dog please. My new owners need to be patient and great at building confidence in me, as I never was loved on as a pup so I am still nervous with new people and in new situations. However, I am very smart and learn quickly!! Some basic information about Mullen; he is male, Siberian Husky mix, and expected to be medium-sized (20-59lbs). Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX)
