Story
Have you met the lovely duo, Blue and Star? Blue and Star, two adorable dogs found abandoned, are searching for a loving home.It all started in March 2023 when an abandoned dog was spotted on Comus Lake in Delavan. He had been there all day, and when the kind stranger reached out to him, Blue was unapproachable. That’s when the Delavan Police Department stepped in. They sent two officers to contain the pooch, but that went nowhere. That’s when the staff member came into play. Everyone that came to help spent hours with Blue in freezing temps, and after some snacks and kind words, they made headway with him. Blue ended up being able to be leashed with the help of a gentleman who was sitting down and was willing to get close to Blue. It was like they knew each other forever.During the ordeal with Blue, the police department got a call about another husky being found a bit down the road. That dog turned out to be Star. As it turns out, both dogs were chipped! The shelter was able to get both dogs names and ages. Blue is a man’s dog, who gets excited to see them and bonds quickly. Star is a big fan of all people and gets excited whenever her friends come to walk her, so much so that if they don’t come quickly enough, she takes it upon herself to go on a walk. That’s right—Star is THAT mischievous husky that digs her way out if she can’t find another way. As with most issues that come with this breed, there are solutions that can help with time and knowledge. Unfortunately, Blue can’t be in a home with children, but Star likes everyone. That doesn`t help when they need to go home together! Star can be a bit dramatic with her husky sounds - she just LOVES to talk.Adoption Information ~ •Husky mix•Blue - 5 years - almost 6•Star 4 years old - almost 5•Spayed and neutered•Microchipped •Current on yearly vaccinations •Fecal Exam•Star has High energy and needs an outlet for it. Blue would rather have a couch, bed or a nice grassy backyard to chill in•NO CATS for either of them•Needs a husky experienced home

Story
ARRIVING IN WISCONSIN FEBRUARY 6TH! Meet S’mores! S’mores is a 6-month-old female Husky who was abandoned in rural Texas and picked up by animal control right before a cold snap. She is excited to make her way to Wisconsin and experience the weather she was made for- SNOW!!! She weighs about 30 pounds and still has that wonderful puppy energy mixed with curiosity and charm. While her past is unknown, it’s clear that S’mores hasn’t let that slow her down — she’s bright-eyed, affectionate, and eager to connect with the people around her. Shelter staff describe S’mores as sweet, gentle, and playful, a lovely combination that makes her a joy to be around. Like most young Huskies, she’s active, smart, and would thrive with a family that can provide structure, exercise, and continued training. S’mores is ready to trade shelter life for a home where she can run, learn, and finally feel safe and loved. She is working on her potty training in Texas, however her new family should be prepared to do additional training while she learns the routine at her new home in WI as she is just a puppy living in a shelter. She is spayed, up to date on vaccines, dewormed and microchipped, and she comes with her medical records and interstate health certificate from a veterinary examination prior to leaving Texas, which certifies her to be in good condition. She will be arriving in Muskego, WI on Friday, February 6th, and will be available to meet, and take home if she is a good fit, by the first family to have placed an exclusive hold deposit as set out below. Her adoption fee is $500, which will be used to support the many animals in our care whose medical bills far surpass their much lower adoption fee. She is available for an exclusive hold with a deposit of $250, which we give on a first come, first served, basis. The balance of the adoption fee is due upon meeting/finalizing the adoption on Friday February 6th. If upon meeting, she is not a good fit for your family, the deposit is refundable. We ask that you are serious about your intent to adopt before placing a deposit, so as not to prevent him from finding her forever family in the meantime, as we only accept one deposit per dog. If you’re not already familiar with our group, please feel free to visit our Group Page at https://www.facebook.com/groups/TxRescueRidersCommunity If you are serious about this pup, please contact us at DogTrailRides@gmail.com. We take payments through Zelle, Venmo, or CashApp, or we can take card numbers over the phone and process them through Square. All of these methods provide a receipt. Thank you for supporting our efforts to bring Texas dogs north to loving homes! You can read more about us at https://facebook.com/TxRescueRiders (Texas Rescue Riders). Also feel free to join our Group Facebook Page https://www.facebook.com/groups/TxRescueRidersCommunity (Texas Rescue Riders Community) where members can post directly. We cannot guarantee breed or age. We assign breed and age designations based on veterinary advice and information from the prior owner.

Story
Meet Nova! Nova is a beautiful, one-year-old husky with the sweetest soul. She is incredibly loving and thrives when she’s around her people — whether that’s going for walks, hanging out at home, or just being part of the action. She has a fun, playful personality and keeps you laughing with her expressions and classic husky attitude. Nova is eager to learn, people-oriented, and a joy to work with. She already knows basic commands including sit, shake, and touch, Nova is doing very well with both potty training and kennel training and has adapted quickly to a home environment. She also loves playing with toys and chewing on bones. She gets along well with other dogs and would be happy with a canine companion or as the center of attention in her new home. True to her breed, Nova has the classic husky “woo” and loves to talk to her people. Nova will thrive in an active home where she can get regular exercise, as she truly enjoys staying busy. She would make a great hiking, walking, or adventure buddy. Nova is a classic husky — vocal, smart, playful, and full of personality — and will thrive with someone who appreciates the breed’s charm and energy. Nova is being fostered in Huntsville, AL. She is available for transport, the adopter will be responsible for the fees. Apply at forrescue.net
