Story
Meet our stunning 4-year-old wooly-coated Siberian husky, a true gentle giant with a heart of gold and a coat to match! This gorgeous black beauty is ready to bring joy, love, and a touch of Arctic majesty to your home. With his striking appearance and endearing personality, he's sure to capture your heart from the moment you meet him. Our husky boy is a social butterfly who adores human companionship and gets along swimmingly with other dogs. He's a affectionate soul who melts into puddles of happiness with belly rubs and hugs. His sweet nature shines through in everything he does, from his enthusiasm for walks to his playful antics with toys. This clever canine is not just a pretty face – he's highly intelligent and picks up new skills with impressive speed. Already well-behaved on a leash and responsive to several commands, he's eager to continue his education with a patient and loving owner. While this handsome fellow has had a challenging past, he's blossoming in foster care. He's learning to relax outside of a crate, though he may pace a bit before settling down – a habit he's steadily overcoming. His luxurious coat, once matted, now gleams after professional grooming. His new family will need to continue gentle brushing sessions to keep him looking his best, along with regular groomer visits. This low-key pup isn't much of a barker, but he may whine a little when feeling anxious. He's fully housebroken, travels well in cars, and is comfortable in a secure wire crate when needed. The ideal home for this magnificent husky would include an experienced, confident dog owner who can provide strong, loving leadership. An active lifestyle with daily walks or hikes would be perfect for this energetic breed. We recommend continued obedience training to help him reach his full potential. A securely fenced yard of 5 or 6 ft. tall is essential, as he's more of a clever escape artist. If you're ready to welcome this stunning, affectionate, and intelligent companion into your life, we'd love to hear from you. Get ready for a lifetime of love, loyalty, and adventure with this one-of-a-kind husky! To ask about Bear, please contact us directly by calling 847-338-3252 or email info@redemptionroadinc.org. Story
Bear is living in a foster home. Please submit an application from our website and/or email dogs@heartlandanimalshelter.org to learn if you are a match! Scroll through his pictures to see his cute videos! Bear and his four siblings were born in rural Texas and raised mostly outside on the streets, with only each other and their mom for company. Mom was a gorgeous husky who sadly became very sick, which was discovered after a good samaritan trapped mom and her pups to get them out of the elements. The vet discovered that mom had cancer, and a local rescuer reached out to us about helping her pups. We knew when we committed to taking them in that they had been through a lot and were pretty under-socialized with people. We are so proud of how far they have all come in less than two weeks! Each pup wound up in a loving foster home! Bear lives with a couple and their two dogs. Even the more particular of the dogs likes Bear, as he is not an overwhelming puppy he is rather shy and polite with other dogs! Bear will bark when greeting new people but eventually gets comfortable and settles. He recently had a two day sleepover with a couple and their three dogs. At first, he was nervous when his foster mom left but in no time he was playing with the three dogs in the yard! "He's been so easy to have a have around" writes his sleepover host! Bear would do best in a quiet area and with an adopter who understands he will need continued training and socialization to grow into a confident young man! Bear's foster mom writes, "Bear is a shy but very loving boy. He's come a long way in just a week in my home. He's become more confident and playful with my dogs. He can be cuddly but also likes his own space where he can take a nap or chew on a bone. He is a smart and sensitive puppy who is learning how to dog. Bear is searching for a forever home filled with love! Bear's adoption fee is $400. This animal is neutered and up to date on core vaccines appropriate for their age. They will need a Heartworm test between 6-7 months of age.

Freyja is living in a foster home. Please submit an application from our website and/or email dogs@heartlandanimalshelter.org to learn if you are a match! Scroll through her pictures to see her cute video content! Freyja and her four siblings were born in rural Texas and raised mostly outside on the streets, with only each other and their mom for company. While they are still quite shy, we are so proud of how far they have all come in less than two weeks! Each pup wound up in a loving foster home! Freyja lives with a couple and their three dogs and a cat. Freyja is doing great with housebreaking and will for the most part alert her fosters when she has to go out. She also does well in her crate! One thing that is important to note about Freyja is that she doe sneed to go to a home with another dog. She is more comfortable with dogs than humans, and she needs that companionship to help her blossom in the critical next few months of her development. Her foster mom writes, "Meet Freyja, a bundle of joy! This shy, but energetic pup adores her canine companions and comes alive when playtime begins. Whether she's carrying sticks across the yard, engaging in spirited games of chase, or wrestling with her furry friends, Freyja knows how to have a good time. With her quick agility, she has the potential to master a backyard obstacle course with a bit of training. As a young puppy, Freyja is still learning the ropes, so a patient and loving approach will help her flourish. Freyja is the perfect match for you! Bear's adoption fee is $400. This animal is spayed and up to date on core vaccines appropriate for their age. They will need a Heartworm test between 6-7 months of age.
