Story
Hello handsome! Meet Bernard, an Alaskan Husky mix who weighs about 53lbs. This sweet boy is stunning on the inside and out! Even though he can be a little shy when you first meet him, he warms up with treats and toys. This heartthrob is also a ladies man, and prefers the company of women over men. Young children also tend to make him nervous, a home with 13+ kids will be best. He seems to enjoy the company of other dogs as well, and can be cat tested for an approved adopter! He's considered a medium energy guy who likes squeaky toys, playing fetch, and neck scratches! He walks excellent on a leash and would make a terrific walking buddy! He is also food motivated which can make training easier. You can also watch for stories, pictures and videos about Bernard on our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/groups/40103261297/ Ask to meet him today!!Adoption fee: $450All dogs/puppies have been fully vetted including spay/neuter, micro-chipping, worming, heartworm testing and preventative treatment, flea/tick preventative, and all required age appropriate vaccinations. As required by Wisconsin Act 90, all dogs will have received a veterinarian exam (CVI) within the past 30 days. Our adoption process requires the submission of an application. Applications and Adoption Rules can be found on our website, on the "HOW TO ADOPT" tab at JRsPupsNStuff.org. Upon receipt of the completed application, we will process the application including: contact with your veterinarian and completion of a home visit. Please be sure to include the contact information for your vet as we will call. If your vet requires an information release, please be sure to contact them as soon as you submit your application. We are a group of volunteers with families and jobs, so please be patient and allow a few days for our response. JR's Pups-N-Stuff Dog Sellers License 522614-DS

Story
Athena is an almost 2yr old husky and came to us from a previous home where her owner was forced to move due to financial and personal issues. She is very small for her breed (28lbs) and we are working to put a bit more weight on her. As far as personality she is very playful, affectionate and sweet tempered. We have 4 other dogs and a cat in the house and she plays with them any chance she gets. She does get along best with our larger male dog and tends to get snippy with females. As a young husky she is an active breed and does need a home that can provide her with walks or at least a companion to play with if possible. However, she will absolutely entertain herself with a ball, stick, random piece of lint- she just loves to play! Not a huge barker or howler but she does yip when she’s ready to leaver her kennel or when she wants to play.

Story
About Me: Name: Cajun Breed (or best guess): Pomski Approximate Age: 5 months Gender: Male Approximate Weight: 20 lb Adoption Fee: $550 Requirements: Loving family Why In Rescue: Breeder surrender Update 3/2024:  Cajun is the final puppy waiting for a home.  He is a great puppy who just needs a home where he will be loved.  Since he has grown up at a shelter, he will need to learn how to walk on a leash and work on housetraining.  Are you the person Cajun has been waiting for? Profile:  Cajun and his sisters came from a farm where they let their dogs breed.  They weren't able to find them homes so they are now in rescue getting socialized and medically ready for adoption.  They are likely to be medium sized dogs when full grown, and need exercise and enrichment to stay happy.  They haven't lived in a home, so will need work with housetraining, and figuring out what life in a home is all about.  They haven't walked on leashes yet, so a fenced yard would be helpful for housetraining.  Another dog in the home may help the pups adjust, but remember many senior dogs aren't going to appreciate the energy level and playfulness of a young puppy.  If interested in meeting one of the pups, please fill out the pre-adoption application.  They pups will be able to go home after 1/11. Dogs from commercial breeders are generally undersocialized (often very scared/shy/skittish) and probably never lived in a house.  They will need to learn things like how to walk on a leash, go up stairs, and what things like a television are.  They need a patient adopter who will give them the time they need to adjust and to learn to trust people.  Every baby step forward needs to be celebrated, and the dog needs to be accepted for who they are at each step.  Some dogs can adjust quickly and learn how to be a loved pet pretty easily.  Others can take a long time to even be comfortable with things like walking through the house and being in the same room as a person.  No matter how far and how fast the breeder dogs progress, they are wonderful dogs and deserve a great home after their life on the puppy farm.  A fence or at least a secure fenced in potty area is highly recommended for the dog's safety, and may be required for some dogs.  Another small dog in the house can also help many former breeders adjust faster to life in a home, and also may be required in some cases.  We do put the needs of the dog's first, so it is nothing personal if we determine a particular dog isn't suitable for your specific home and living situation. If considering adopting a former breeding dog, the following article is good to read to help you understand the special needs these dogs may have.  http://nowisconsinpuppymills.com/mill-survivors.html If interested in adoption, the first step is filling out the pre-adoption application at http://www.bichonrescues.com/pre-adoption-form-dog  If link isn't clickable, please copy/paste or visit http://www.bichonrescues.com.  Please note, filling out inquiry forms on Petfinder or Adoptapet and/or their application forms does not constitute an application for one of our dogs.  Priority in responding to inquires and applications is always to the applications filled out on our website, time constraints limit the number of other inquires we can reply to. We do our best to evaluate the dogs while they are with us, but they sometimes act different in the shelter environment than they do in a home.  Many times we do not know the actual breed/mix or age of the dog, in that case we use our best guess as to breed and age.   We are located in Mukwonago, WI.  Adopters must come to us, we do not ship our dogs.  Please do not apply for a dog until you are ready to adopt.  Once an application is approved you will be notified by email to make an appointment to meet the dog.  All dogs are seen by appointment only. The adoption fee through Bichon and Little Buddies Rescue is $200 - $550 depending on the age of the dog, which includes Wi State Sales Tax.  Included in this fee is your new companion who will be spayed/neutered, have a current Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (as required by state law), current on age appropriate vaccinations, heartworm tested (if old enough) and started on preventative, microchipped, and given a general wormer.  Other medical needs will also have been taken care of, such as dentals and treating ear infections.  To assist you and your new pet in adjusting to life together, you may chose to take an 8 week age appropriate obedience training course at For Pet's Sake Dog Training in Mukwonago, WI for $75 (up to $230 value).  You may opt to take Puppy Kindergarten, Adult Beginners, or Small Dogs Big Hearts.  You must register for the class within 90 days of adoption for the reduced fee.  For more information on the classes visit www.forpetssake.cc  More important information: ***We are a Wisconsin based rescue and do not ship our pets.  If you are considering adoption you must be willing to drive to meet and adopt the pet, as well as bring the pet back to us if the adoption doesn't work.  We adopt primarily in WI and IL, but will consider applicants in MN, IA, and MI.*** ***Please do not set up an appointment to meet the animals until you are ready to take your pet home.  If the meeting results in a match, you can often take the dog/cat home the same day or within a couple days if the medical care hasn't been completed.  We are not able to hold pets for adopters beyond this time.  Thanks for understanding.*** ***While we hope all of our adoptions lead to permanent homes for the animals we place, sometimes things just don't work out.  We do have a 30 day trial period.  For the first 30 days, if you or Bichon and Little Buddies decide that the adoption isn't a good match for either the humans or the pet, the adoption fee will be refunded minus $75 within 30 days of the return of the dog.  Bichon and Little Buddies also requires adopters to return the pet to us at any time that they are unable or unwilling to care for the animal anymore.*** ***We do not show dogs without an appointment.  The first step in adoption is filling out the pre-adoption application at http://www.bichonrescues.com/pre-adoption-form-dog  Please do not call/email until AFTER you have filled out an application.*** Bichon and Little Buddies is a State Licensed Rescue # 268555-DS April 24, 2024, 5:22 pm

Story
I’m no couch potato, at least when I first wake up. I’m the perfect encouragement for you to keep fit and get fresh air every day! Ready, then let’s go for a walk, maybe even a little run or have some fun in the yard. This should of course be followed by a nice little breakfast while you have your cup of coffee. I can then relax until you get back home, ready to welcome you with some of the best kisses. Then as you look into my puppy blue eyes, you will feel this energy encourage you to go for our before dinner walk. After dinner walk would be fine too. We can then finish the day, lounging on the couch together.

Peter is a beautiful puppy with a great personality. He is getting lots of socialization with people and dogs in his foster home. Due to their breed and size a single-family home would be best and kids over 8 and someone who is home or works from home would be ideal._________________________________________________________________________Adoption Donation for Peter is $ 525.00WANT TO MEET PeterThe first step would be for you to go to our website at www.aear.org and then to the “Adopting a Pet” page to read about our Adoption Process which will answer many of your questions and then to fill out an Adoption Application. Also, please visit our very active Facebook Page for updates on Peter and our other adoptable pets with AEAR - www.facebook.com/aear.orgAll our animals available for adoption are living in foster homes. This gives us the ability to really get to know the animals we have available and find them families that are a good fit for them based on their personalities. We do not have a shelter to visit the animals.
