Tiny, vulnerable, and completely dependent on each other… it’s all they had in that moment.   And yet, Hawaii chose love.   This beautiful Husky mix has the most striking eyes, but it’s her heart that will stay with you. She is incredibly affectionate, bonds deeply with her people, and just wants to feel safe and belong.   She’s doing amazing with housebreaking, picking up basic commands quickly, and already has excellent recall. I lost my vision because I have diabetes. I was not looking or feeling the greatest at first but Save-A-Pet was there for me and has helped me get my diabetes under control. Being vision impaired is not slowing me down. I always have plenty of smiles to distribute to the wonderful people here. I love going for walks, sniffing around and always ready to explore a play yard, listening to noises, including looking up when a plane is flying over us. I know sit and also give paw. Can I be your favorite doggie? I am available as a permanent foster. This means that Save-A-Pet will continue to coordinate and pay for the vet care related to my condition. I’m of course also available for adoption.

Have you met the lovely duo, Blue and Star? Blue and Star, two adorable dogs found abandoned, are searching for a loving home.It all started in March 2023 when an abandoned dog was spotted on Comus Lake in Delavan. He had been there all day, and when the kind stranger reached out to him, Blue was unapproachable. That’s when the Delavan Police Department stepped in. They sent two officers to contain the pooch, but that went nowhere. That’s when the staff member came into play. Everyone that came to help spent hours with Blue in freezing temps, and after some snacks and kind words, they made headway with him. Blue ended up being able to be leashed with the help of a gentleman who was sitting down and was willing to get close to Blue. It was like they knew each other forever.During the ordeal with Blue, the police department got a call about another husky being found a bit down the road. That dog turned out to be Star. As it turns out, both dogs were chipped! The shelter was able to get both dogs names and ages. Blue is a man’s dog, who gets excited to see them and bonds quickly. Star is a big fan of all people and gets excited whenever her friends come to walk her, so much so that if they don’t come quickly enough, she takes it upon herself to go on a walk. That’s right—Star is THAT mischievous husky that digs her way out if she can’t find another way. As with most issues that come with this breed, there are solutions that can help with time and knowledge. Unfortunately, Blue can’t be in a home with children, but Star likes everyone. That doesn`t help when they need to go home together! Star can be a bit dramatic with her husky sounds - she just LOVES to talk.Adoption Information ~ •Husky mix•Blue - 5 years - almost 6•Star 4 years old - almost 5•Spayed and neutered•Microchipped •Current on yearly vaccinations •Fecal Exam•Star has High energy and needs an outlet for it.
