Story
Meet Timber..... While Timber could be mistaken for a small wolf, he’s a Husky-Shepherd Mix. A a very smart and handsome boy!! Timber enjoys playing and running; he’d prefer to run and play with a human companion rather than another dog. He LOVES people and is good with most everyone. Timber’s estimated date of birth is July 4 2021. He’s about 60 lbs. of energy! An ideal home for Timber, and one in which he’d thrive and his family would forever enjoy his companionship is one experienced with the Husky (or a similar) breed, has the time to commit to a young large-breed energetic boy, and a willingness to set boundaries and guidelines to ensure Timber evolves into a perfect family member. Timber is a quick learner and is sure to make progress toward his behavior goals pretty quickly! Timber would love a secure, fenced yard, and possibly being an only dog so he can receive ALL the attention!! Timber is fully vetted, up-to-date on vaccinations, heartworm negative and on year-round heartworm prevention, neutered and microchipped. If you might be interested in adding this handsome boy to your family please contact BAARKDogRescue@gmail.com or 847-852-0895

Story
Terra is a very sweet, cute Husky Mix, possibly Husky-Shepherd. Her estimated date of birth is July 4, 2021; at the time of this post, she is about 1 ½ years old. She weighs about 50 lbs. Terra is typical Husky through-and-through. She is active, somewhat high-strung, and loves being outside. When she is by herself, she is overall well-behaved…given she’s a younger Husky. She can get carried away and become obnoxious when engaging with other dogs. As such, she is most likely to do best being an only dog. She is not a dog-park dog. While playful and energetic, Terra is also very affectionate. She enjoys people and does pretty well when meeting people she does not know. As is the case with all young, larger dogs, Terra would greatly benefit from obedience training which can also be a bonding experience with her new family. No doubt, Terra has the potential to evolve into the perfect pup, but is looking for that family willing to commit to her and provide her the forever home she deserves. Terra is fully vetted, up to date on all vaccinations, spayed & microchipped and on year-round heartworm prevention. To learn how you can add this cute young girl to your family, please contact BAARKDogRescue@gmail.com or 847-852-0895. BAARK is located in the Chicago area and adopt our dogs only local to the area.

Story
Meet Sitka, thought to be a Husky mix puppy closing in on 4 months old. Named after the mighty Sitka spruce—the towering evergreen that stands strong along the wild Alaskan coast. Just like his namesake, Sitka is resilient, bright, and rooted in adventure. With his fluffy coat, curious eyes, and playful spirit, he’s ready to explore every “forest” he finds—whether that’s a snowy backyard or your living room. He’s got that classic Husky sparkle: smart, spirited, and always up for a little mischief before curling up like a cozy woodland pup at your feet. Sitka is growing tall in confidence every day, and he’s ready to plant himself right in the heart of his forever family.Interested in adopting this dog? The moment he sees you, his happy tail kicks into overdrive, and he’ll be right at your side, ready to shower you with kisses. Ruckus loves playing with his canine companions! He has made several at the shelter who he gets to have regular playdates with. Friends who are okay with a little bit of a silly personality is all he needs! Ruckus is quite the athlete, being able to go for mile long walks. An afternoon stroll through a forest preserve is an exciting adventure! He is down for rain, shine, cold, or warm! Ruckus is the perfect mix of playful and affectionate. He loves to romp around with his favorite cactus toy (it’s his absolute treasure), but he’s just as happy to snuggle up and enjoy some quiet time with his favorite humans. Ruckus would thrive in a home without younger kiddos, as he can be a bit shy with smaller friends. A quieter, calmer home that fits his vibe is his dream! Ruckus's Favorite Things: His cactus toy! Chin scritches Snuggles Playtime Cues Ruckus Knows: Sit Touch Come "Let's go" "This way" Ruckus is an All-Star dog, and her adoption appointment includes a discussion with the training team, as well as a few enrichment goodies to help get you both off to a good start. Very energetic even at his age. Timmy needs lots of attention as he gets bored easy. By that I mean if hes bored he will to through your garbage or food. Since he grew up with adults, he developed some sort of weird trait of not liking little kids. His walks and or runs are essential for him and loves to be pampered with treats and toys. He is very special and requires lots of patience and attention.

Story
Keegan is a young bouncy boy who is as nice as he is energetic. While it was pretty apparent when he came in to us that he was not given a lot of training in his previous home, he obviously was loved as he has a great personality and is a very loving boy. He is a diamond in the rough kind of dog-he needs to learn some manners (and he is a quick learner) but with an active home that will give him exercise and structure, he'll be a well trained boy in no time. Keegan is good with other dogs and great with people. He might knock over little ones in the home so until he is a bit more trained, older kids are probably best.

Story
Freya is such a cool girl. She is filled with personality-the word Diva comes to mind :) She is a bit wary of new dogs and situations at first, but you can be sure that she watches everything. She is whip smart and picks up on routines and rules quickly and settles herself pretty easily. Freya was surrendered to a high volume shelter along with AAHI dog Foxina. Whomever had them prior obviously loved both girls and they are in great shape and very sweet dogs. Freya is house trained, crate trained and is currently living with several senior dogs, a youngster, and another diva girl and she does great with all of them. She adjusts her play to the level around her, although her most favorite thing is just to lounge at her foster Mom's feet and get occasional pets. She loves to go on walks but she is not a high energy girl. She would do well with a home with other dogs or all by herself-she is very adaptable that way. Come meet her.
