Story
Will you be Mona's HERO??If you'd really like to RESCUE a dog and really make a huge difference consider a Mona. She is far from perfect but who's perfect anyway? She has such a gentle, kind spirit. She LOVES walks and car rides. She has some medical issues but they are totally manageable. They have prevented her from getting adopted. Don't let that stop you from adopting her!!Here's her back story:We agreed to take Mona in when she was only eight-weeks-old. She was a very sick little puppy. She had daily seizures and was completely incontinent. Since that time, many years ago, her epilepsy is managed well and the incontinence is almost completely gone. She only has occasional accidents overnight but we think that's more due to being stubborn about going outside to potty the last time at night, not because of incontinence. So making sure she goes outside to go potty around 10:00 p.m. would solve that likely. Her seizures are controlled with medication and the bladder surgery took care of her leaking mostly. She is on medication for the incontinence which really helps! For a dog who had a grim future it's truly amazing how far she's come. Now all we have to worry about with Mona is finding her the best possible family that can love her as she is...not quite perfect but so incredibly darling. A tenacious, independent, confident, mischievous, joyful and sensitive husky, that's our Mona. She is a bit protective when she's in her cage so we think a family with small kids wouldn't be right for her.Mona loves to play in water and would love a baby pool in her yard in the summertime. She loves walks so much and is both affectionate when she wants attention and aloof at times too, which is being what huskies can be! She loves the snow, her crate, and her nylabones. She is very smart and sensitive too.Mona co-exists with other dogs and can even play with another dog if they other dog is pushy about play but otherwise she lives without issue with other dogs. She is not good with cats or small critters. She lives with a family with a eight-year-old child. But she would be best in a family with kids over ten only because she can get a bit protective around her cage when she steals something and brings it into the cage with her. Yes, Mona can be naughty...but not too naughty'':)Mona is on medication for her seizures and incontinence. The total cost is roughly $100.00 a month. Because of her medications she needs quarterly blood tests. Additional medical expenses should be anticipated and money set aside just in case.A home visit will be required to adopt Mona so please only adoption applications within an hour of Libertyville, IL._________________________________________________________________________Adoption Donation for Mona is $ 425.00WANT TO MEET MonaThe first step would be for you to go to our website at www.aear.org and then to the “Adopting a Pet” page to read about our Adoption Process which will answer many of your questions and then to fill out an Adoption Application. Also, please visit our very active Facebook Page for updates on Mona and our other adoptable pets with AEAR - www.facebook.com/aear.orgAll our animals available for adoption are living in foster homes. Happy! That’s a good word to describe me. I came in not looking the greatest and the tip of my ears were pretty raw, ouch! I am now doing great here. My friends here say that I am a very handsome guy with these blue eyes. My response is that what counts is personality. I am friendly, walk well on leash, already know sit, give paw and I’m ready to learn more. I’m not shy to introduce myself, what about you?

Story
Terra is a very sweet, cute Husky Mix, possibly Husky-Shepherd. Her estimated date of birth is July 4, 2021; at the time of this post, she is about 1 ½ years old. She weighs about 50 lbs. Terra is typical Husky through-and-through. She is active, somewhat high-strung, and loves being outside. When she is by herself, she is overall well-behaved…given she’s a younger Husky. She can get carried away and become obnoxious when engaging with other dogs. As such, she is most likely to do best being an only dog. She is not a dog-park dog. While playful and energetic, Terra is also very affectionate. She enjoys people and does pretty well when meeting people she does not know. As is the case with all young, larger dogs, Terra would greatly benefit from obedience training which can also be a bonding experience with her new family. No doubt, Terra has the potential to evolve into the perfect pup, but is looking for that family willing to commit to her and provide her the forever home she deserves. Terra is fully vetted, up to date on all vaccinations, spayed & microchipped and on year-round heartworm prevention. To learn how you can add this cute young girl to your family, please contact BAARKDogRescue@gmail.com or 847-852-0895. BAARK is located in the Chicago area and adopt our dogs only local to the area.

Story
Meet Timber..... While Timber could be mistaken for a small wolf, he’s a Husky-Shepherd Mix. A a very smart and handsome boy!! Timber enjoys playing and running; he’d prefer to run and play with a human companion rather than another dog. He LOVES people and is good with most everyone. Timber’s estimated date of birth is July 4 2021. He’s about 60 lbs. of energy! An ideal home for Timber, and one in which he’d thrive and his family would forever enjoy his companionship is one experienced with the Husky (or a similar) breed, has the time to commit to a young large-breed energetic boy, and a willingness to set boundaries and guidelines to ensure Timber evolves into a perfect family member. Timber is a quick learner and is sure to make progress toward his behavior goals pretty quickly! Timber would love a secure, fenced yard, and possibly being an only dog so he can receive ALL the attention!! Timber is fully vetted, up-to-date on vaccinations, heartworm negative and on year-round heartworm prevention, neutered and microchipped. If you might be interested in adding this handsome boy to your family please contact BAARKDogRescue@gmail.com or 847-852-0895
