Microchipped, and heartworm negative on the re-test.2️⃣ Rescue Story* Hoya was at the Cheongju City Shelter, waiting for a human touch. However, as time passed and no one came to claim him, he was eventually placed on the euthanasia list. That’s when he was rescued.3️⃣ Basic Information * With People: Is a bit shy around strangers. When someone unfamiliar tries to touch him, he might show discomfort by pulling away or avoiding them. However, once he gets to know you, he’ll show interest, wag his tail, and act cute! He is also very food-motivated; if you have treats, he will follow you everywhere.* With Dogs: Gets along calmly with dogs of a similar size. Rather than playing directly with others, he prefers to roam around and explore on his own. Hasn't met smaller dogs yet, but tends to lung at small animals during walks. Extreme caution is needed if introducing him to smaller breeds.* With Cats: Gets highly overexcited and tries to chase cats, so extra caution is necessary.* Separation Anxiety: Unknown, as he is currently living in a group environment. Training may be required in adoption.* Potty Training: Only goes potty outdoors at our center. Training may be required in a new circumstances.* Hygiene: Stays calm for brushing if done by someone he trusts. * Walks: Pulls a bit at the start of a walk due to excitement, but settles down if given a moment to calm. However, he reacts strongly and tries to bolt when he sees other animals; even with leash pressure, he tends to react again immediately.* Car Sickness: Handles car rides very well without any motion sickness.* Nip: May reflexively nip if his belly, hindquarters, back legs, or paws are touched. May also nip defensively if startled by sudden or forceful physical contact from strangers. His behavior has improved significantly through ongoing desensitization training.* Barking: Has shown no history of barking or whining.* Likes: Is playful and loves running around the yard! Also enjoys treats and going for walks.* Dislikes: Reacts sensitively to being touched in his "off-limit" areas. Feels uncomfortable being picked up or held.* Personality: While Hoya s shy at first, he is naturally a very energetic boy! Once he’s comfortable, he’s affectionate, patient during grooming, and absolutely loves running around the playground. If you approach him slowly at his own pace, he will feel safe enough to open his heart and come to you first.
