Story
Guksoo is still looking for a loving family He is currently fostered in Barrie, ON. Guksoo is a neutered Jindo mix boy who is about 4 years old.He can be shy at first, but slowly warms up over time, and tends to trust women more than men. Deep down he loves people and wants to be with them all the time! When he first came into his foster home, he was very shy but would timidly ask for pets by slowly pawing at the humans. Now, he has become more social and will come up to strangers with a wagging tail to ask for pets and treats! He still continues to paw at his foster parents when he wants attention, and loves to snuggle and give kisses first thing in the morning. He is okay and gentle with kids, but can be startled by sudden movements. After some time, good food, and lots of walks, he will open up and give you lots of kisses and hugs When it comes to other dogs, Guksoo LOVES to play! And especially loves girl dogs. He loves to run and play with his doggy friends and is excited to play with both new and familiar friends. With his foster sibling, he loves to groom her and give her lots of kisses. However, he is still learning that not all dogs like to play, especially on leash, and he can get a bit frustrated when he sees another dog on a walk that he cant say hi to. He is learning how to be neutral to other dogs while walking and responds well to his handler. He has a medium energy level, he loves going for walks and exploring, and rests well once at home. He has a low prey drive and ignores cats when he meets them while on walks, but sometimes likes to chase birds and squirrels. He is currently fostered with bunnies and lived with a cat for a short time, he is very gentle with them and leaves them alone after a quick sniff. On walks, Guksoo can be a bit excited at first but will eventually relax and walk by his handler’s side, occasionally stopping to sniff. He rarely pulls unless he sees another dog or a small animal but is easily redirected. He is fully potty trained outdoors. Guksoo Rarely barks, only when a stranger knocks on the door or if something new startles him. He has no destructive behaviours and can be left alone in the home without any issues. He loves to chew and enjoys playing with his chew toys or a long lasting treat.  Will you welcome this sweet boy into your family? Story
Name: Heim Age: Approximately 4 months Sex: Male Breed: Jindo Mix Weight: 5.5 kg Height: 20 cm (at shoulder)   Meet Heim, a sweet and affectionate Jindo mix puppy and the brother of Ahim. At just 4 months old, Heim already shows a gentle and friendly personality that makes him easy to love. Heim is highly social and doesn’t hesitate to approach both familiar faces and strangers. He loves rubbing up against people and is comfortable being touched. He even allows you to slip your arm under his belly and pick him up with ease. Once he bonds with you, he’ll roll over and happily show his belly. When it comes to other dogs, Heim is polite and will greet them, though he doesn’t typically initiate play. If another dog behaves aggressively, Heim prefers to walk away rather than engage. On walks, he shows curiosity toward cats but is easily redirected and follows his human’s lead without fuss. He has a moderate energy level—he enjoys outdoor adventures but settles down calmly afterward. He does tend to pull a bit on the leash and is more interested in sniffing around than walking in a straight line, often stopping and starting as he explores. Heim is currently not showing signs of severe separation anxiety, but there may be a potential for it to develop, so a family with some flexibility or experience would be ideal. He is calm and quiet in a kennel and is mostly outdoor potty trained. Heim is looking for a loving, patient home that will help him grow into the amazing dog he’s meant to be. Could you be the one for him? Story
Name: Yangpa Age: 4 years old Sex: Male Neutered: Yes Breed: Jindo Mix Color: Cream Current Weight: 20.7kg Height (shoulder): 57cm Rescue Story: Yangpa and his family were cruelly abandoned by the roadside. His mother was tied to a tree, while Yangpa and his siblings—only two months old at the time—were left in a box nearby. They were sent to the city shelter for euthansia and Thankfully, they were all rescued but none of them have been adopted yet, and have been living in a kennel ever since Personality & Behavior: Yangpa can be a little shy at first, but offer him a treat and he’ll quickly warm up to you. He’s incredibly affectionate and loves human interaction. He enjoys cuddling, belly rubs, and being held close—he’ll even lie in your lap with his belly up. Despite being unfamiliar with children under 13, Yangpa has shown no signs of discomfort around new people and can be bathed or walked by unfamiliar people without issue. He’s not particularly interested in toys but bonds strongly with people and prefers human company over that of other dogs. He will approach new dogs politely but doesn’t engage in active play with them. His energy level is moderate—he enjoys being outdoors but settles down calmly after exercise. Yangpa walks very well on a leash, doesn’t pull, and follows his human companion beautifully. He is not food-aggressive toward people or other dogs. He’s calm in a kennel and generally prefers to relieve himself outdoors. While he’s not a fan of getting into cars and needs to be lifted in, he remains quiet and well-behaved once inside. Additional Notes: • Not tested with cats • Can be picked up and held comfortably Yangpa is a sweet, gentle soul ready to find his forever home with someone who will shower him with the love and care he’s always deserved. Story
Meet Murphy! 4-month-old male | 4kg | Mixed breed White coat | Not neutered yet Shoulder height: 20cm   Murphy is a gentle, sweet-natured pup who’s still discovering the world. He’s a little wary of strangers at first, but once he feels safe—usually within 3 to 7 days—he opens up and becomes a loving and affectionate companion. He hasn’t had the chance to meet children under 13 yet, so we’re not sure how he’d react. However, Murphy is easy to handle and allows you to pick him up by supporting his belly. Once he trusts you, he’ll roll over and show you his belly—his way of saying “I like you.” With Other Animals: Murphy tends to be friendly toward dogs of similar size and avoids conflict, even when other dogs are being pushy. While he hasn’t had many interactions with other dogs yet, he usually doesn’t show strong interest in them. His behavior around cats hasn’t been tested. Energy & Walks: Murphy has a moderate energy level. He enjoys outdoor time, but after some play, he loves to rest quietly. Since he’s still very young and hasn’t had much leash experience, loud noises, sudden movements, and busy streets can scare him. In quieter areas, he walks better and may even playfully run around. When scared, he tends to crouch or try to hide—but once he bonds with you, he’ll come when called and gain more confidence. ‍ On walks, Murphy might freeze or hesitate around people and dogs, but encouragement helps him keep going. In familiar places, he’s even started to run around with joy. Personality: Murphy is extremely gentle and a little timid. When you first meet him, he might freeze like a statue, unsure of what to do. But he comes around quickly. Within a week, his foster family saw a big change—he started wagging his tail when called and showing his belly for belly rubs. In the mornings, he greets you with adorable affection. He’s so easygoing that he’ll lie down and fall asleep wherever he feels comfortable. As a young pup, he sleeps a lot and is still growing. He loves his regular meals but hasn’t tried treats yet. He tends to be quiet, but when he wants something, he might whine a little or bark—like the time he saw another dog on TV and barked excitedly! He’s also teething, so he loves to chew—be sure to have lots of toys ready for him! Other Notes: • Not food aggressive toward humans or dogs • Doesn’t guard food • Calm when riding in a kennel • Prefers to go potty outdoors • Shows demand barking when he wants something • Enjoys chewing due to teething—needs plenty of chew toys! Murphy is a sweet baby boy looking for a patient and understanding family who can help him grow into a confident, happy dog. If you give him time and love, he’ll reward you with the gentlest heart and endless loyalty. Story
Meet Simba! This sweet 3–4-month-old mixed breed boy weighs in at 5.8 kg and has already shown an incredible amount of heart. He was found wandering without his mother and ended up in a city shelter, where he was heartbreakingly placed on the euthanasia list. But Simba is full of love and life—he’s incredibly affectionate and has no hesitation in cuddling up to both familiar faces and strangers. He hasn’t had the chance to meet children under 13, but based on his gentle nature, we expect no issues. You can easily scoop him up by placing an arm under his belly—he’s perfectly comfortable with being held. Simba is a social butterfly not only with people but also with other dogs. Whether it’s a familiar pup or a brand-new friend, he’s quick to say hello and invite them to play. He tends to get along best with dogs around his size. We haven’t had the chance to see how he reacts to cats just yet. He has a relatively high energy level, so he thrives on outdoor activities and needs plenty of playtime to relax calmly indoors. While he walks confidently in quiet areas, busy streets with lots of traffic can make him a little nervous. That said, he’s a clever pup—he already knows how to hop in and out of a car on his own! Simba is doing great with both indoor pad training and outdoor potty routines. He’s still a puppy, so with the right guidance and love, he’s sure to grow into a truly wonderful companion.  Send in your application today through our website   https://adoptmekoreanrescue.org/adoption-application/   He can arrive at Vancouver or Toronto airport and may be able to arrive at some US airports (Seattle, LA, NY, Boston etc) where we have flight volunteers.
