Story
Meet Lisa!
Name: Lisa
Age: Approximately 3 years old
Breed: Jindo/Hogu Mix
Gender: Female (Spayed)
Weight: 11.6 kg
Height: 41 cm (at the shoulder)
Rescue Story
Lisa was found pregnant near a campground and brought into a municipal shelter, where she was rescued and given a second chance at life.
Social with People
Lisa is a gentle and sensitive girl who needs a little time to trust new people. She can be wary of strangers at first, but with patience and consistency, she typically warms up within a few days to a week.
She is uncomfortable with sudden movements, loud noises, and screaming from young children, so she would do best in a home with older, respectful children or adults only.
While she can be picked up by placing an arm under her belly, it’s not something she particularly enjoys. Once she feels safe, however, her sweet personality begins to shine.
Social with Other Dogs
Lisa generally enjoys the company of other dogs, especially calm and friendly ones. She tends to feel more secure and confident when another dog is present and would likely thrive in a home with a well-balanced canine companion.
Friendly with both larger and smaller dogs
Prefers calmer dogs over high-energy playmates
Especially likes larger male dogs at dog parks
Politely greets friendly dogs and enjoys social interactions
Personality
Lisa is a fascinating combination of being very shy and very curious.
She loves exploring her surroundings when left alone and may occasionally carry favorite items around the house to a spot she considers safe and comfortable. Rather than viewing this as naughty behavior, her foster suggests seeing it as Lisa creating her own little comfort zone.
Inside the home, Lisa becomes noticeably more confident and relaxed. As her bond with her family grows, you’ll likely discover an adorable, playful side hidden beneath her timid exterior.
Very quiet and rarely barks
No resource guarding with people or dogs
Independent and comfortable being alone
No separation anxiety
Loves food and enrichment activities
Enjoys nose-work toys and puzzles
Exercise & Training
Lisa has a relatively low energy level indoors and enjoys lounging peacefully around the house. She enjoys daily walks and outdoor adventures but settles down nicely afterward.
Loves sniffing and exploring scents more than walking quickly
May stop frequently to investigate interesting smells
Can pull on leash at times but generally follows her handler well
If something scares her, she tends to freeze or flatten herself to the ground rather than react aggressively
Travel & House Manners
Quiet and calm in a kennel
Jumps in and out of the car independently
Primarily prefers outdoor potty habits
Comfortable entertaining herself with toys and enrichment activities
A Special Note
Lisa absolutely loves sleeping close to her people. She prefers sharing a bed and happily accepts gentle affection while resting. She sleeps quietly through the night and enjoys the comfort of being near her trusted humans.
Ideal Home
Lisa would thrive in a calm, patient household that understands shy dogs and allows her to build confidence at her own pace. A home with another friendly, stable dog would be a wonderful bonus.
Behind her timid nature is a sweet, curious girl waiting to blossom into a devoted companion.
