Meet Pearl — A Sweet & Social Jindo Mix Looking for Her Forever Family! Name: Pearl Age: 9 months Sex: Spayed Female Breed: Jindo Mix Color: Brown Weight: 21 kg Height: 56 cm (shoulder height) Personality with People Pearl is a very affectionate and friendly girl who happily approaches both familiar people and strangers. She loves leaning in for pets and allows handling easily. With people she knows well, she’s a total sweetheart — she may jump up to give kisses and show her playful affection. She does well with children under 13 and is comfortable being gently lifted with an arm under her belly. Once she trusts you, she’ll even show her belly Socialization with Other Dogs Pearl enjoys greeting and playing with both familiar and unfamiliar dogs. She does have a timid side — if several dogs (even small ones) rush toward her at once, she may retreat. She can be a little socially unaware at times and may try to initiate play even if the other dog is unsure. With very high-energy dogs, she will clearly communicate when she’s uncomfortable. Cats Pearl has not yet been tested with cats, but a cat test can be arranged if needed. Energy Level Pearl has a moderate energy level. She enjoys outdoor activities and walks, but once her exercise is done, she settles nicely and relaxes indoors. ‍ Walking & Leash Skills She does pull on the leash at times but generally follows her handler well. Name: Seoju Age: 3 years Sex: Neutered male Neutered: Yes Breed: Jindo mix Color: Beige Weight: 13.8 kg Height (shoulder): 50 cm Rescue Story Seoju was rescued in October 2024 just before euthanasia. He entered the AKR Center in January 2025, where he spent about a year working on socialization training. He is a classic playful and mischievous “troublemaker” type who has made great progress with structure and guidance. With People Seoju loves people — truly loves them He is very affectionate and will approach both familiar people and strangers, leaning in for pets and attention. He does have a strong attachment tendency and can get jealous when it comes to “his person.” It took about a year to help him become more calm and balanced, and while he’s improved a lot, he’s still not fully settled. In a stable home environment, he is expected to continue improving. He enjoys both men and women, and once he bonds, he can become very devoted — following his person around like a little bodyguard Can be picked up comfortably Shows his belly easily, even to new people With Other Dogs Seoju is generally social and will greet and try to play with both familiar and unfamiliar dogs. Prefers dogs of similar size Dislikes overly high-energy or pushy dogs If he feels uncomfortable, he may react, but he’s not a strong fighter and often ends up backing down. In group settings, he can show jealousy around people (trying to “claim” attention by positioning himself close or between legs), but when people are not involved, he plays well with other dogs. With Cats Not tested yet, but based on his temperament: Likely indifferent or slightly cautious. Cat testing can be arranged if needed. Energy Level Moderate energy Enjoys outdoor activities Rests calmly after exercise He likes carrying blankets or toys to his space and enjoys chewing toys or relaxing beside people ‍ Walks Seoju can be sensitive to sudden stimuli. FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED Meet Goliath! Goliath is a 6-year-old, 80 lb Lab / Chow / Anatolian mix who came to us as a stray from an overcrowded shelter. He’s a big, handsome boy with a lot of presence and an equally big heart for his people! Goliath is incredibly loyal and affectionate with those he knows and trusts. He loves playing fetch, is highly treat-motivated, and will happily give you his full attention when food is involved. Once he bonds with his person, he’s devoted, loving, and eager to please. Because of his size, strength, and independent streak, Goliath is looking for a very specific home. He can be a bit stubborn at times, so he’ll need a confident, experienced handler who can provide clear structure and guidance. He unfortunately does not do well with other dogs and can be reactive, so he will need to be the only pet in the home (no dogs or cats). He’s also strong, jumpy, and can be mouthy when excited, so we’re looking for a home without young children. Goliath would thrive in a standalone home with a fully fenced yard, ideally in a quieter, more rural or suburban setting outside the city where he isn’t overstimulated. A calm, predictable environment with a confident, experienced handler will help him be his best self. Consistency, routine, and leadership will go a long way with this big guy. Large-breed experience is a must. Goliath is UTD on vaccinations, microchipped, and neutered. His adoption fee is $400.
