MEET HATA — A SWEET & SOCIAL JINDO MIX LOOKING FOR HER FOREVER HOME!
Name: Hata
Age: 1 year old
Sex: Female, spayed
Breed: Jindo Mix
Colour: Brown / Black
Weight: 16.7 kg (36.8 lbs)
Height: 46 cm (18 in) at the shoulder
HER STORY
Hata was found trapped in a drainage ditch in Jeju, South Korea, unable to climb out on her own. Local residents who passed by would toss bags of food down to her so she could eat. Eventually, she was reported and taken to a municipal shelter.
Sadly, Hata was later placed on the euthanasia list. She was rescued on July 20 and given a second chance at life. Now she’s ready to find a family of her own.
WITH PEOPLE
Hata can be a little cautious about being touched when meeting someone for the first time, but she readily takes treats even from strangers. Once she gets comfortable, her affectionate side comes out — she’ll lean her body against you and sometimes even put her paws up to say hello and ask for attention.
She has met children under 13 and was comfortable taking treats from them. Hata can be picked up with an arm under her belly, and once she trusts you, she’ll even roll over and show you her belly.
WITH OTHER DOGS
Hata is friendly, curious, and social with other dogs. She happily approaches both familiar and unfamiliar dogs to say hello and invite them to play, and she genuinely enjoys making new canine friends.
She tends to be especially comfortable with dogs around her size or smaller. If another dog tries to provoke her, she usually prefers to avoid conflict. Recently, she has occasionally told off dogs that are being overly pushy or mischievous with her, but it has not escalated into fights. She also gets along well with small dogs without issues.
WITH CATS
Hata’s reaction to cats has not yet been observed, but a cat test can be arranged upon request.
ENERGY LEVEL
Hata has a moderate energy level. She enjoys outdoor activities and loves making the most of playtime, but once she’s had her fun, she settles down nicely and rests quietly.
ON WALKS
Hata does tend to pull on the leash, but overall she follows her handler well. Passing cars can startle her a little, though her reaction is not severe, and she is able to wait calmly until the vehicle has passed.
OTHER BEHAVIOUR & HABITS
• No food guarding with people or other dogs
• Quiet when placed in a kennel/crate
• No carsickness
• May bark when asking to be let out
• Currently does her bathroom business outdoors
Hata had a difficult start, but she has grown into a sweet, playful, and social young dog. She may need a little time to feel comfortable with new people, but once she trusts you, she knows how to show affection in her own adorable way. She would love a family who will give her the time, love
