Story
Christmas family. Adorable Charity Noelle and Jingle were dumped in the back of a store. So much for the Christmas spirit of kindness. They were cold covered in dirt and nervous and the shelter took them in. We rescued them from the distant shelter. The two females are more out-going. Noelle seems to be the top puppy. Both are doing great got baths lovable playful and now very happy at their foster home. More info. to come as they grow and learn. They most likely will grow up to be large adults. Best they get a home with a fenced backyard and active guardian for daily long walks and exercise. 5/1/24 update: Charity goes to day care on week days. On weekends foster mom brings her to the open field to play and run leash free with other dogs. She is very friendly with cats too. Foster home has two mean cats and Charity never has issue with them. Charity loves to be around people very gentle to kids. She loves to be petted and be praised. She loves to play with toys making squeaky sounds she likes to play fetch and knows to bring back the ball and drop it off. She knows a lot of commands: leave it off stay heel back wait paw sit down bang flip etc. Charity is not at all a picky eater which makes training her a lot easier. She is definitely a quick learner. She loves to walk and is a very good walker. She knows heel without pulling never charging up to other dogs knows not to chase wild animals if warning “leave it” is told ahead of time. Charity is fully potty trained. She sleeps in the crate and can sleep overnight without any accidents at all. She knows to shake the bell on the patio door to ask to go out to the backyard to do her business. Currently going to doggie day care during the day while foster home works full time off site. Temp. solution. Still need a foster home or adopter.May 20, 2024, 12:44 am

Story
Lab Mix Male, neutered 35 lbs Adoption Fee: $125 (includes spay/neuter, microchip, vaccinations) Levi was picked up as a stray in Stockton, CA. One of his front legs had an elbow fracture that wasn’t attended to. The tendons were seized up in the fracture, so he couldn’t move his other joint either. It's likely that he was hit by a car at some point. He wasn’t well cared for before arriving at the shelter, but he was still the sweetest dog - loving everybody. Because of his bad leg, he needed a rescue group to take him in, so the shelter called us. We took him to the vet to have his leg amputated and he became a whole new dog - loving the freedom of not having to lug around that useless limb. Unfortunately, he has severe osteoarthritis in his hips. The surgeon thinks his previous injury damaged the blood supply to his hips. He needs to stay thin and active with low impact exercise. Luckily, he loves to get daily exercise! You wouldn’t guess that his hips are bad watching him run around. He will be need to on lifelong arthritis treatment. He currently gets monthly injections of Librela and Adequan and a daily joint supplement. No surgery is recommended on his hips at this time, but that might change in the future. Levi loves going for walks and going jogging. He is a bit leash reactive when other dogs are pretty close, but when they are across the street, he doesn't react and has learned "look" to get a treat and focus on his foster mom. Levi lived with a large dog in his foster home for eight months and did well with him. Levi now entertains himself with chew toys and stuffed Kongs when he's home alone and does well by himself. Fetch is Levi's favorite game in the backyard or the house and he is good about bringing it back and dropping it. At home care is easy with Levi, as he easily allows ear cleaning, nail clipping, brushing, teeth brushing, monthly injections and getting a bath. He loves to cuddle up next to people on the couch and in bed. He has met a lot of strangers of all ages while out for walks and at the adoption center and does very well with everyone. Bikes, skateboards, canes, hats, etc. don't bother him. Levi is potty trained using a dog door. Levi is mouthy when he is in a playful mood. The mouthiness is gentle and is easily redirected to a chew toy. He has gotten a lot less mouthy the longer he has been in his foster home. Levi has shown some prey drive tendencies in the backyard, so he probably wouldn't do well in a home with cats. He also shows some barrier reactivity with the neighbor's dog, and is still working on that behavior. If you are looking for a super sweet, smart, resilient dog and are up for continuing his training and arthritis meds, Levi might be the dog for you. Please note that we don’t adopt any of our dogs out to homes with children under the age of 13. For more information about Levi, contact: nobodysperfektdogs@gmail.com

NAME: VANNA GENDER: FEMALE BREED: FORMOSAN MOUNTAIN DOG MIX COLOR: BROWN AGE: 2 YEARS OLD WEIGHT: 36lbs SPAY OR NEUTER: Yes MICROCHIP: Yes If you would like to give Vanna a forever home, please go to www.adoptadoggie.org to fill out an online application with home photos. Vanna is a sweet and shy girl! Vanna loves her humans, gentle with children, and good with dogs of all sizes. She has a good temperament and lots of love to give. Vanna has been through a rough start in life and is shy with new people at first. She is doing well in her foster home and ready for her forever home. Vanna started some leash training and is learning at a good pace. She is crate-trained and doing well on her housetraining. She rides well in the car and can wait patiently while her foster mom runs errands. We are looking for a committed family that will continue to train & socialize her to help her build confidence. VANNA’s Rescue Story Poor Vanna and her siblings (Vannette, Vannetti, and Vannette) were living as stray dogs in the mountain. They were rescued by a volunteer of a TNR rescue group. The rescue has a temporary rundown place for the dogs. TNR groups specialize in getting stray animals spayed and neutered and the animals are returned to their original location to live as homeless dogs. TNR programs help with the overpopulation of unwanted animals. The volunteer reached out to an experienced international rescue organization to help with them and some other puppies that are still too young to be released back to the streets. The founder of the rescue organization has over 180 dogs waiting for homes. However, she could not bear to see them going back to the mountain and suffer on the streets. She agreed to take them home and give them a chance in life. Vanna had a thorough medical checkup. She has been spayed, vaccinated, microchip, and passed negative on her blood tests.
