Story
Male, ~7 months old, ~50 lbs. Approximate Age: ~7 months old   Approximate Weight/Size:    Medium/Large   Good with: Dogs   Not tested with: Cats, Kids   Hi, I'm Bo Bo! As you can see I have a great smile and an even better personality! I am friendly to other pups and super treat motivated. I know how to 'sit' and will wait patiently for my reward. I love giving and receiving all types of affection, especially scratches on the head. I've been described as having a 'great attitude' and I am affectionate to literally everyone I meet. Since I'm a puppy, I would be a perfect addition to nearly any home and love to be active. I enjoy both going on walks with my human and also playing with other pups at the dog park. I'm curious and playful, but once I've gotten my energy out I love to snuggle and rest. I would love a family who can help me with some basic obedience training, including leash training.   I can't wait to find a forever home where I can share all the love I've got to give!   Adoption Application: http://bit.ly/adoptrd r My adoption fee includes: Spay/Neuter Surgery (unless I'm too to young!) Overall wellness exam Current on all core vaccines (including DHPP & rabies) Microchip Current on flea & tick and heartworm preventatives   Interested in adopting a rescue dog? Story
Female, ~2 years old, ~50 lbs. Approximate Age: ~2 years old   Approximate Weight/Size:    Medium/Large   Good with: Dogs   Not tested with: Cats, Kids   Hi, I'm Callie! I have the softest fur and the sweetest demeanor. I love my people and want to be by their side, but I also have no signs of separation anxiety. In fact, I'll greet you with zoomies once you get home! I love being active, particularly fetch! But my favorite thing ever is cuddling up on the couch. I'm very respectful in the house and know the difference between my toys and your things. I am also house and crate trained. I came to D.C. not knowing any tricks, but have already become a master sitter and would love to learn more. I'm still working on my jumping, though!   I came into the shelter as a shy pup but I'm slowly coming out of my shell. I'm still pretty skittish and I don't like strangers or unexpected noises, but once I see that someone is trustworthy then I warm up to them quickly. I would love a forever home where my owner would be patient with me, particularly when bringing me somewhere new. While I might be shy at first, I'm very social in one-on-one situations or in controlled environments, like the dog park or my home. I can't wait to find a forever home where I can share all the love I've got to give!   Adoption Application: http://bit.ly/adoptrd r My adoption fee includes: Spay/Neuter Surgery (unless I'm too to young!) Story
Female, ~20 mo, ~50 lbs. Approximate Age:  20 months   Approximate Weight/Size: Medium   Good with: Dogs, Kids   Not tested with: Cats   Hi, I'm Candy! I'm the sweetest girl who has a great smile. Before coming to Rural Dog Rescue I had an embedded collar removed from my neck after outgrowing it but while I'll always have a scar, I'm fully healed and happy as can be. No special care required!   I am a very friendly and affectionate pup who loves to be around people and other dogs. I play great with other pups and I am whip smart. I am very social and love going to daycare and/or the dog park. I'm house trained and crate trained and I am a perfect angel around the house -- no counter surfing or trash can sleuthing. I just love pleasing my humans and being with them.   My foster recently spent some time with a trainer to help me not pull on the leash and I'm catching on quickly. She described me as a 'true MVP and most improved foster pup.' I'm calmer, more responsive on the leash, and generally in lockstep with my human. I can get excited at the dog park and jump on people, but even that has improved. I'm chill when I get home and love naps on the couch. I'm very food motivated and eager to please so teaching new tricks is something I enjoy.   I would love to join an active household that loves being outside just as much as I do. Hikes and long walks around the city are some of my favorite activities. I've still got some puppy energy but once I get my zoomies out, I am as snuggly and affectionate as can be. I can't wait to find a forever home where I can share all the love I've got to give!       Adoption Application: http://bit.ly/adoptrdr My adoption fee includes: Spay/Neuter Surgery (unless I'm too to young!) Story
Female, ~5 months old, ~38 lbs. Approximate Age: ~5 months old   Approximate Weight/Size:    Medium when full grown   Good with: Dogs, Kids   Not tested with: Cats   Hi, I'm Khaleesa! I've been described as the absolute sweetest little girl. I love to go on long walks during the day and snuggle up with my foster family at night. I'd be a great family dog: I love my current foster familys' baby and will give him kisses when he cries. I also get along great with other dogs in the home and love to play and wrestle with them. Since I'm just a puppy, I have several training needs: I'm not yet fully housetrained, and I need to learn how to properly walk on a leash and control my excitement when I meet new people. I can also be a bit mouthy at times. But I'm just a baby! I'll learn eventually with the good guidance of my forever family. I'm so excited to find my forever home!     A few things to consider before applying to adopt a puppy: - Puppies require a lot of upfront work including both obedience and house training. - Puppies cannot be left home alone for long periods while they are young. - You might need to "puppy-proof" your home before bringing one home.   Adoption Application: http://bit.ly/adoptrd r My adoption fee includes: Spay/Neuter Surgery (unless I'm too to young!) Story
Male, ~5 months, ~43 lbs. Approximate Age: ~5 months   Approximate Weight/Size:    Medium when full grown   Good with: Dogs, Kids (currently living with toddlers)   Not tested with:   Cats   Hi, I'm Khal! I'm an energetic 5 month old puppy, and I love to play and anyone that will play with me! My favorites are chew toys, bones, balls... anything, really! Since I'm just a puppy, I need a forever family that will give me plenty of walks and playtime so that I can tire myself out and cuddle at night. I get along great with other dog and young kids as well. I could benefit from some additional leash, house, and crate training since I'm still so young. I'm still trying to learn right from wrong! The RDR team will update my profile when they learn more about me, and I'm so excited to find my forever home!   A few things to consider before applying to adopt a puppy: - Puppies require a lot of upfront work including both obedience and house training. - Puppies cannot be left home alone for long periods while they are young. - You might need to "puppy-proof" your home before bringing one home.   Adoption Application: http://bit.ly/adoptrd r My adoption fee includes: Spay/Neuter Surgery (unless I'm too to young!)
