Story
History: We welcomed a group recently from a partnering organization of ours, Villalobos Animal Rescue. These kiddos are SO sweet and already have a great start at basic obedience and mannerisms. A Note from the Foster: This sweet and shy cuddle-bug is Verde, but we like to call him Bear. He’s not the most confident pup, so he’s looking to join a family that can give him confidence with clear directions and boundaries. Verde is great with meeting other dogs! He’s established a friendly relationship with our resident dog. They love playing with each other, taking naps together, and finding ways to earn treats. Not only is he great with meeting with other dogs, he’s also a wonderful playmate for humans! He has experience living with a younger child and has done wonderfully. But Verde is still learning what is appropriate play, so he can use more strength than he knows when playing with humans. Verde is about 1-1.5 years old, so he’s still got puppy energy and behaviors that we’re working on. He’s doing really well learning how to walk calmly on a leash, proper ways to play with humans, and to not jump on people he is excited to meet. But he’s a fast learner and is already potty trained, crate trained, knows how to “sit”, wait for his food, and is starting to learn to play fetch with a frisbee. One note about Verde’s is that during a recent check up appointment, the veterinarian found that he has a heart murmur. At the moment, we are keeping a close eye on him and his health, but he seems to be a happy and healthy pup. Verde is the sweetest pup and he’s looking for a family that has time to lead him with confidence.

These animals are all so deserving and thankful to get a second chance in finding a forever home of their own! Sally and her Beatles band crew arrived to rescue in good spirits and are just the sweetest! They are each hoping to find forever homes of their own soon! A Note from the Foster: Mama Sally was surrendered to rescue by a sweet family who was no longer able to care for her and her 5 puppies. They loved her dearly. Sally is a calm and quiet girl thought to be about a year old. Just a pup herself. Sally has taken very good care of her puppies (the Beatle puppies) and put everything she had to keep them well fed. So much so that she is quite underweight. Worry not, she is now eating well and will be weight restored in no time. Sally is fully house trained and sleeps quietly in her crate at night. I have fostered many dogs, and she is one of the easiest. She does not chew on household items and quietly follows you around the house. She has done well with my two dogs after proper introductions. They co-exist well without any issues. Sally would be best in a home with a fenced yard. She loves to chase squirrels and rabbits. Because of her high pry drive she should not be in a house with cats. They are just too interesting! If you are looking for a mellow and calm dog, look no more. Sally is your dog.

History: Starr was recently returned to rescue due to no fault of her own. She is a beautiful and super sweet girl who would love to find her forever home soon! A Note from the Foster: Meet Starr, your future best friend and all-around life co-pilot! This gorgeous, 2.5-year-old Lab mix is a true star waiting to shine in your home. Personality: Star is the perfect, low-pressure companion. She was surrendered due to her family's health issues, so she's not the reason they had to part ways. On the contrary, she is one of the most well-behaved, well-trained, and all-around good girls you could ask for. The only thing she's missing is her forever person. Energy level: It's up to you! Do you like being active? So does Star! She's happy to join you for a hike. Do you prefer a gentle stroll? She's right there with you. Want to binge-watch a season of your favorite show? She'll be your cuddly couch potato and professional snuggler. And if you need some "me time," Star is happy to entertain herself with her toys or snooze peacefully on her bed. Home Life & Companions: Older children: Maybe of her size, Star would do best in a home with older children. Other dogs: She gets along great with other dogs. Cats: Her history with cats is unknown, so any introductions should be done with care and supervision. A perfect match for: First-time dog owners Anyone looking for a "go-with-the-flow" best friend Star's charming, adaptable personality makes her a great choice for almost anyone
