Story
Introducing Jesse! Goofy Playful Affectionate Social Personality: Jesse is a young, playful Dane/mix with a big personality and an equally big heart! He is both playful and affectionate, and he absolutely loves spending time with his people. Jesse is still very much in his puppy phase, so he has plenty of energy and curiosity, but he is also already showing what a wonderful companion he can be. Socialness: Jesse is very social and loves people. He does not have experience with young children, so he should be supervised around younger kids due to his size and energy. He enjoys playing with other dogs and has a great time with Roo, who is another Upper Midwest Great Dane foster who is available for adoption! Jesse does not have experience with cats, so any introductions to cats would need to be slow and carefully managed. Likes: Playing with other dogs, especially Roo Spending time with his people Cuddling and affection Playing and being active Dislikes: Being asked to go into his crate when he would rather keep playing Training: Jesse is crate trained and housebroken. While he is quiet and non-destructive once he is in his crate, he doesn't always want to go in when it is time, so continued positive crate training will help him become more comfortable with the routine. He can be destructive if left loose while his family is away, so he should continue to be crated when he cannot be supervised. Like many young Danes, Jesse is still learning what is and isn't appropriate to chew. He does occasionally chew on things he shouldn't, but with consistent redirection, supervision, and appropriate chew toys, he should grow out of this puppy phase without issue. Health: He is in good health with no current concerns. Forever Home Wishlist: A home with a physical fence is preferred so Jesse can safely run and play freely. A family that can provide continued puppy training, especially with crate routines and appropriate chewing. Jesse can be left alone for up to approximately 6 hours during the day. He could do well in an apartment setting, although adopters should be aware that he can bark loudly at times. He is approximately 70 pounds at this time, but still has some growing to do. A family that is prepared to supervise Jesse around young children because of his size and energy. Another playful dog would be a great bonus, especially since Jesse loves canine companionship. Jesse can be adopted on his own, or a family looking to add two Danes can consider adopting him and Roo together! Fun Fact: Despite his young age, Jesse has already mastered one of the most important Dane skills: the Dane lean! When he isn't busy playing, he is more than happy to lean into his people for some affection. If you think Jesse will be a great addition to your family, please reach out to us by following one of the options below. 1. She is full of energy, enthusiasm, and an unmistakable zest for life. Bryndle thrives on outdoor adventures and brings boundless joy to everything she does. Despite her energy, she craves routine and stability, which help her feel secure and happy.  Socialness: Bryndle is a social butterfly who enjoys meeting new people and soaking up attention, especially at events. She has done well with the cats in her foster home, showing respect and calmness. While she prefers to be the only dog in her forever home, she may do well with a submissive male dog after slow and structured introductions. Bryndle has shown resource guarding tendencies with food and toys, so interactions with other pets will need to be carefully managed. Likes: Long walks (at least 3 miles daily) Outdoor adventures Enjoys affection from her people Calm environments Positive reinforcement She loves the structure of a predictable routine Dislikes: Loud or stern voices Having her feet or tail handled Chaotic environments. Sharing her food or toys, so mindful management in multi-pet households is essential. Training: Bryndle is a quick learner who responds beautifully to gentle, positive reinforcement. She thrives with a consistent routine and clear expectations. Her foster family has noted her eagerness to please, which makes training a rewarding experience. Due to her sensitivity, training methods should be calm and patient.  Health: Bryndle is in excellent health and has no current concerns. She has the vitality and energy to enjoy countless adventures with her new family. Forever Home Requirements: Fence: A physical fence is required to ensure her safety while she explores and enjoys outdoor play. Companionship: Bryndle would prefer to be the only dog but may do well with a submissive male companion after proper introductions. Environment: A calm and structured home with experienced dog owners. Children should be 8+ years old and respectful of her sensitivities, particularly with her feet and tail. Lifestyle: An active family who can continue her daily walks and outdoor adventures is ideal. Routine and stability are key to helping Bryndle feel secure and thrive. Time Alone: Bryndle loves spending time with her family but can be left alone for 8+ hours if needed while they are away. Apartment: Bryndle does bark on occasion and has a big bark. If someone is home more often than not, she may do well in an apartment (or apartment-like setting). She is approximately 100 pounds. Fun Fact: Bryndle is a true adventurer who transforms every walk into an unforgettable experience. Her infectious enthusiasm and stunning looks make her a one-of-a-kind companion who will fill her forever home with love, laughter, and joy. We believe sweet Bryndle is a Great Dane-Lab mix. Luna is 6 years old and was rescued from the Humane Society as a puppy (less than a year old). She is adorable, snuggly, full of energy, and loves to give kisses! We love her dearly! Luna is smart, and responds super well to praise and treats. We are combining households, and Luna's prey drive is just too strong for the other pets to safely live. Luna would thrive where there are other big dogs to run and play with and acreage to sniff and explore with her humans. She does great with other big dogs and big kids, but she hasn't spent a ton of time around small children. We hope to find her a place where she can thrive and run!

Story
If you’re looking for a best friend who wants to be involved in absolutely everything you do, Winnie might just be your girl! Pooh Bear, affectionately called Winnie, is a 1-year-old, 45-pound Lab mix with a BIG personality and an even bigger heart. She is goofy, playful, incredibly affectionate, and truly just loves being loved.Winnie’s favorite place in the world is wherever her people are. She is an expert snuggler, professional morning kiss giver, and would happily spend an entire evening curled up beside you on the couch. She loves being part of whatever her humans are doing and will happily follow you around the house just to make sure she doesn’t miss anything. And when she wakes up in the morning, she is especially excited to see her people and is more than happy to cover them in kisses! But don’t let her cuddly side fool you. This girl LOVES to play! Give her a stick, a stuffy, a bully stick, or a doggy friend and she is ready for a good time. Winnie loves romping around with her foster family’s resident dog, playing outside, going for walks, and proudly carrying around whatever treasure she finds in the yard. She even loves a good game of chase, especially when she has a stick she absolutely refuses to give you!Winnie does great with other dogs and would love having a playful canine buddy. She can be a little enthusiastic when meeting new friends, and personal space is still a work in progress, so her jumping and excitement may be a lot for some dogs at first. Once everyone settles in, though, she absolutely loves having a friend to play with. She has also been working hard on her house training and is doing great! With a consistent routine, accidents have become very few and far between, although she may still have an occasional overnight accident as she continues to learn. Winnie sleeps wonderfully in her crate overnight and settles right in for bedtime. Her biggest work in progress is being home alone. Winnie has separation anxiety and can bark continuously when her people leave, so she would thrive in a home where someone is around often, such as a work-from-home household. She would also do best with someone who has the time and patience to continue helping her learn that being alone is okay. Because of her barking when left alone, apartment or shared-wall living would probably not be the best fit for her.And cats? Winnie actually LOVES a good kitty snuggle and has lived with a cat. She has been known to cuddle up with and even groom her feline friends. However, she can occasionally become reactive or possessive of a comfy spot when she’s settled in, so a cat-free home may be the easiest fit. A home with cats could potentially work with humans who are comfortable managing those moments and continuing to help Winnie learn about sharing her space.More than anything, Winnie is a ridiculously sweet, people-oriented girl who loves her humans with her whole heart. She’ll make you laugh, follow you around the house, convince you to chase her for the stick she absolutely refuses to give you, cover you in morning kisses, and then curl up beside you like she hasn’t seen you in three years.Winnie is a young pup who is still learning, but she has SO much love to give. She wants to be included, loved, and part of the family. In return, she promises cuddles, goofy games, playful adventures, endless kisses, and a whole lot of love. Whoever gets to call Winnie theirs is getting one seriously special girl.If you are interested in Pooh Bear, fill out an application at this link to get the ball rolling - https://pethavenmn.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/dog-adoption-application/The adoption fee is $450. Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, heartworm/Lyme test, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, and Bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, and microchip implant (including registration). Adoption fees INCLUDE a mandatory sales tax of 7.525%. Story
Meet Chase & Maci – The Sweetest Couple You Could Ever Ask For!If you’re looking for a pair of devoted, affectionate companions, Chase and Maci are ready to steal your heart. These bonded best friends have spent years together, and they’re hoping to find a forever home where they can continue their next chapter side by side.Chase is a handsome 9.5-year-old black Labrador Retriever weighing about 80 pounds, while Maci is an adorable 8.5-year-old Dachshund weighing just 13 pounds. Despite the size difference, these two are inseparable and complement each other perfectly.Chase’s greatest love in life is tennis balls. A few short games of fetch each day make him one happy pup, and watching his excitement over a tennis ball is guaranteed to make you smile. Maci occasionally decides the ball belongs to her and will cleverly “hide” it away in her blanket for safekeeping. When she’s not supervising tennis ball operations, Maci’s favorite place is snuggled under a blanket next to her favorite human. Both dogs are deeply affectionate and very people-oriented. They want nothing more than to be near their humans, whether that means following you from room to room, curling up beside you, or requesting another round of pets. They can be a little insistent about making sure they get their share of attention, but they are learning quickly that sometimes it’s time to settle down and relax nearby instead.Maci is making excellent progress with house-training in foster care. She came into her current foster home needing significant help in this area, but with a consistent routine, supervision, and rewards for going outside, she has improved tremendously in just a few weeks. Her future family should be prepared to continue reinforcing those good habits as she adjusts to a new home.Maci can also be wary and reactive when first meeting unfamiliar men, so slow, thoughtful introductions are important. Once she decides you’re a friend, though, she is extraordinarily affectionate and devoted. Her foster dad went from being a suspicious stranger to one of her favorite people in about an hour! Her experience with children is not yet known.Chase and Maci can also become anxious when separated from their people and may bark to let you know they’d rather be wherever you are. This has improved considerably as they’ve settled into foster care and learned that their person always comes back, but their ideal family will appreciate just how people-oriented these two are and be willing to continue helping them become more comfortable settling independently. Both dogs have responded beautifully to structure, consistency, and gentle boundaries. In just a short time in foster care, they’ve become better at settling on their own, Maci has made tremendous strides in house-training, and they’ve shown how quickly they can learn what is expected of them. It’s clear Chase and Maci have known love before, and they have plenty left to give. Their ideal home will be one that wants two genuinely devoted companions and is prepared to give them the consistency, patience, affection, and structure that help them thrive.Senior dogs have a special way of appreciating life’s simple joys, and Chase and Maci are no exception. They are sweet, funny, deeply affectionate companions who are ready to bring an enormous amount of warmth and love to the right forever home.If you are interested in Chase and Maci, fill out an application at this link to get the ball rolling - https://pethavenmn.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/dog-adoption-application/The adoption fee is $450 for both dogs.
