Story
Hi, we got Draco from the humane society in coon rapids 3 years ago. He’s 5 years old currently and his birthday is 7/15/2020. We are looking for a home that has no other dogs. He has had past experiences that no longer allow him to be cordial (unless with training which we can’t afford unfortunately) with other dogs. Hes got quite a bit of anxiety so we want to find him a home thatll be loving and is ready to take him on. He struggles with vet appointments so he does have to get meds in order to go. He doesnt like getting his nails trimmed and weve struggled to go about it in a way that doesnt traumatize us or him. He does bark at random and sometimes non existent noises so we need someone who is okay with occasional barking and has a home that can accommodate that. He does better if there is background noise going on. At the end of the day he’s a big lover who’s misunderstood and just needs someone to love on and take the time to build new trust.

If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please complete  an Adoption Request Form. This is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract. To learn more about our adoption process, please visit our Adoption Process page on our website at www.rescuecrew.org.  Meet Buckles: Classy, Sassy, and Currently Accepting Applications  Buckles would like to start by saying she is very polite when you first meet her. Calm. Reserved. Practically an angel. This is a lie she tells to see if you’re worthy. The moment you pet her and she realizes you’re not a threat, her entire body turns into one enthusiastic wiggle. Shy? No. Strategic? Absolutely. Buckles is what you’d call high-functioning perfection. She’s house-trained, crate-trained, and already knows sit, lay down, come, kennel, and heel. She learns insanely fast and lives to impress. Beauty and brains. Dangerous combination. Social skills? Immaculate.  Loves kids of all ages  Adored by adults  Dog-friendly (would thrive with a canine roommate)  Chill with cats, chickens, and ducks — because she’s cultured She’s athletic, smart, and ready to be your hiking buddy, sport prospect, or “let’s learn something new” partner. Physical and mental stimulation are her love languages. That, and belly rubs. Mostly belly rubs. Now let’s address the diva energy. Buckles believes: • Sweaters are not optional. • Snow booties are a fashion statement. • Mud puddles are self-care. • Sass is a personality trait, not a flaw. She is one of those once-in-a-lifetime dogs — the kind you meet and immediately start rearranging your life for. The kind you tell your friends about even if you don’t adopt her, because how could you not talk about Buckles? Buckles may be your soulmate if: • You would choose your dog over your spouse (green flag). • You can commit to endless belly rubs. • You’re okay being mildly bossed around by a puppy. • You’re missing a little sass and a lot of love in your life. Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional’s recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal’s history is often unknown. All companion animals adopted by The Rescue Crew are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on age appropriate vaccinations, tested for FIV/FeLK (cats) or heartworm (dogs), microchipped, dewormed and provided with monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives prior to adoption.   The Rescue Crew is a foster based rescue organization, meaning all of our adoptable pets are located in homes throughout Minnesota. We do not have a physical location where you can stop by to visit the animals - we require the completion of an Adoption Request Form prior to meeting any of our adoptable pets in foster care. For the most complete information regarding this animal, and all of our adoptable pets, please ensure you are visiting our website directly at www.RescueCrew.org. Story
Hi! I’m Emma — and I’m looking for my forever home Before we go any further, there’s something important (and pretty cool) you should know about me: I’m deaf! Don’t worry though — it doesn’t slow me down one bit. I’ve already started learning hand signals in my foster home, and I’m a very smart girl who works hard for treats. Training time = treat time = my favorite time. I’m still young and full of joy, curiosity, and energy. I love staying busy and have discovered that toys are one of life’s greatest gifts — especially balls. Even better if they’re treat balls. Playing and snacking at the same time? Yes please. I also adore car rides and am a total passenger princess. Bonus points if those rides include pup cups on your morning coffee run… just sayin’. I’m potty trained once I learn my routine, and I’ve made huge progress with crate training. Give me something fun to chew on, like a Kong, and I’ll happily run into my crate, settle in, and snooze away. Easy peasy. Because I’m deaf, I don’t always realize how loud my bark is, so I’d do best in a home without shared walls. I would love a playful dog companion around my size — I’m all about rough-and-tumble play and having a buddy who can keep up with me. Cats (and very small or senior dogs) probably wouldn’t appreciate my enthusiasm, and I’m still learning my manners, so a home without small children would be best for everyone. My foster family says I keep them laughing every single day — and honestly, they’re not wrong. I’m goofy, expressive, and full of personality. At bedtime, I turn into a total sweetheart: I’ll sleep peacefully at your feet or snuggle under the blankets beside you if you let me. I give the best kisses and have the softest, sweetest soul. My dream home is with someone who will give me structure, patience, continued training, and lots of love. In return, I promise endless laughs, loyal companionship, and a whole heart ready to be yours. Could that be you? Story
Chase is a 8.5 yr old male black lab, shepherd, husky mix with blue eyes- he's a big guy at 86#, and this is his ideal weight. He previously lived with people that were happy to have him in the family, but didn't really spend any time with obedience training - Chase knows his name but no commands. The foster is teaching him to sit for a treat. He is also learning leash manners - still tends to pull if he wants to check something out. He enjoys time outside, and being part husky, he will vocalize to you when he wants to go out. Actually, he also does that when he wants treats and pets......you just have to figure out which one he wants. Because he can get over a 4 ft. high fence, Chase needs a 5 ft fenced enclosure so he can safely be outside for extended periods, or he will need to be on a tieout. Chase enjoys walks, and will chase after small critters in the yard. There are 2 felines in his foster home and he ignores them. He is almost indifferent to the other dog in his foster home, and would be perfectly content to be the "only dog". He enjoys chewing on bones (tends to bury them when he is done chewing) and on rope toys; some interest in balls, but not in retrieving them. Chase likes some attention from his people, especially pets and belly rubs - he's a dog that will sit close to you, but not necessarily snuggle. Well behaved indoors, and has free run of the house when left - thus far he's been left for about 4 hrs. but the foster expects he would be fine up to 8 hrs. Chase is housebroken, and will come over to you, "talk", and walk to the door when he needs to go out. He sheds seasonally, and will need brushing in the spring to remove the winter undercoat he develops. I don't know if he has ever lived with children - Chase is a mature dog, and not interested in playing. Chase is neutered and current on distemper and rabies vaccinations. His microchip is registered to Second Chance. Chase has a $275 adoption fee. If you are interested in meeting him, call 651-771-5662.

Story
Celena, a 2 yr old female yellow lab mix, came into our program a few weeks ago and has been in boarding because we don’t have a foster available for her. So we are looking for someone that is interested in fostering her until we can find an adopter, or foster with intent to adopt her. She was in a temporary foster home in Texas until the treatment for heartworm was completed and she could make the long trip to MN, so we have some helpful information on her. Celena weighs 58#, and is at her ideal weight. She is housebroken, and has never had an accident indoors. She’s not fond of being crated, and might need a bribe to go in – she said to tell you that bully sticks, fruit, and peanut butter work well – and has been crated overnight. Celena sits on command, is leash trained, and is quite a good snuggler. She LOVES other dogs, and her ideal foster home would have another playful dog and a yard for them to run around in. A privacy fence would be best because a couple times she has climbed over a chain link fence. Her friendly nature sometimes leads her to jump up to greet people, and her love of good food makes jumping against counters irresistible, so could need a little work to correct this. Her friendly, affectionate, even-keeled nature makes her an easy dog to have around. No experience with children (although because of her playful energy we would recommend older kids), or with cats. Celena has been spayed, is current on distemper, Bordetella, and rabies vaccinations. She’ll need a recheck heartworm test between April and July to make sure the treatment was successful – Second Chance will cover this expense. A special crate will be provided for the time she is fostered, and then will need to be returned to Second Chance when she gets adopted. Celena is getting more comfortable being crated now, and isn’t scheming on ways to break out, so might accept a regular wire crate by then. She definitely seems most comfortable when her people are home with her, so a home where she won’t be left for long hours every day would be best. Call 651-771-5662 if you have any questions, or can offer to take care of Celena until she finds a permanent home – as a foster, you would have the first opportunity to adopt her.

Story
Buddy Love is a healthy, happy 6-year-old 75lbs neutered male looking for a new primary caretaker, as I will be traveling heavily until 2028 (open to pet-sharing). He’s primarily Labrador Retriever and Staffordshire Terrier, with some Newfoundland and Weimaraner. He was rescued from a shelter in Alabama in early 2020 and has been a wonderful companion since. Buddy is full of love and personality, and he has so much to offer to someone who can give him the stability, consistency and attention he deserves. He's very affectionate, loyal and easygoing when he’s with his person and happily sleeps most of the day. He likes to stay close by his person and can be protective around strangers. He enjoys being outdoors in warm weather sunbathing and watching nature. He would do best with an experienced handler and in a low-traffic home environment. Ideally in an adult-only home with no other pets or with slow intros (he is selective on what dogs he's friends with and has never been around cats).
