Story
I adopted Kevin from a shelter as a puppy, and he has been with me for 7 years. He is an active dog, who loves walks and running around outside playing fetch. I am looking to re-home him due to being a recently single parent, and I don't have the time or resources to be able to afford to keep him. I am trying to find a home with him with older kids, as he is a little dog at heart.

Story
Meet Eula! This sweet girl is ready for her next chapter. Eula came into rescue from a large-scale overcrowding case. She is super sweet and obedient but also has a small desire to escape. She likes to scout the yard for places where she thinks she can dig out once you catch her pawing at the ground she runs back to you or stops what she’s doing. With time, routine, and comfort we are confident she will. She’s excellent in the crate. No issues in the house. Lower energy. Loves to just lay at the back door and watch things in the yard. Eula has done well with both dog and cat foster siblings. Medical History: Before Eula entered rescue her left ear was removed, and she has significant hearing loss on the left side. Her right ear and hearing on the right is in-tact. This does not impact her daily living and quality of life, and we do not expect future medical treatments related to the lost ear. *More information and photos added over time. Adoption application: https://forms.gle/cKD19YHqxKpvT1VQ6 *We only adopt and foster our animals within a 100 mile radius from New Brighton, MN* All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment. You can contact us through our website at http://legendsrescue.org/index.php/contact/ or visit our facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LegendsRescue/ if you have further questions or would like to schedule a meet and greet. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application at http://legendsrescue.org/index.php/adopt/forms/ FOSTER CARE: Our rescues are fostered in individual homes or at our facility. We work hard to ensure that our rescues have a supportive family while at foster homes to help them move forward and get ready for their forever home. We work on training, crate-training and socialization before a dog is adopted out. Foster homes are extremely important to the success of the cat at their forever home, and it is extremely rewarding to be able to watch the cats growth as you help them on their journey to their happy ending. If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please fill out our application at http://legendsrescue.org/index.php/adopt/foster-application/ YOU CAN HELP: If you’re not able to foster or adopt right now, please consider sponsoring a Legend. Your donation will help with our care and pay for medical costs. Visit this link http://legendsrescue.org/index.php/donate/ to donate

Story
Magdalena is not just any dog; she is a testament to the resilience and the unwavering spirit of a survivor. This beautiful 5-year-old Labrador mix has faced challenges that would have deterred many, yet her spirit remains unbroken and her heart full of love. Magdalena's journey has been a tough one. Due to a human-caused incident, she tragically lost one of her legs and, heartbreakingly, her puppies as well. Despite these hardships, Magdalena has shown incredible strength and determination to heal both physically and emotionally. The last picture was taken during her early healing stages, you can see her courageously taking each step forward, supported by her indomitable spirit. Today, Magdalena is fully healed and ready to embark on a new chapter of her life - one filled with love, compassion, and the security of a forever home. Her gentle demeanor and loving nature shine through every interaction. Magdalena adores human companionship and has a special affinity for belly rubs and leisurely walks. She is known for her playful antics and happy face. Magdalena's ideal home would be one where she is cherished as a member of the family and the only dog in the home. She does well with dogs her size or bigger but hasn't been around small dogs much and doesn't do well with smaller dogs. She has also never been around cats but given her reaction to small dogs, she probably would do best in a home without cats. She thrives on affection and is eager to return it tenfold. Whether it's snuggling on the couch or exploring the great outdoors, Magdalena is up for any adventure as long as she's by your side. If you're ready to open your heart to a dog who has overcome adversity with grace and love, Magdalena is waiting to meet you. Help us give this incredible survivor the happy ending she deserves - a forever home filled with kindness, warmth, and the promise of a brighter tomorrow. Could you be the one to give Magdalena the loving home she's been waiting for? Reach out today to meet this special dog and discover the joy she can bring to your life.

Story
Louie is a sweet 3.5 year old boy. He wants to please, but since he was neutered, he's terrified of everything. He's very anxious, but wants to be included in whatever you're doing. He follows me everywhere in the house, and will cuddle if given the chance. He needs a fenced yard, because he loves to zoom, and recall isn't reliable. Outside he's very vigilant will bark at anything he hears or any people he sees. When inside, he will bark at people passing on the street a block away. He has been coached by Canine Coach, and is currently on anti-anxiety medications through MN Veterinary Behavior. He's so anxious, he can override sedation drugs meant to make a vet visit possible -- no one can touch him there. We had a home-visit vet out; she didn't touch him either, even after an hour of feeding him treats. He needs an experienced handler with a quiet house and fenced yard. He needs to be the only pet, with adults. He has nipped when startled.

All dogs and puppies require supervision and training. Gigi is perfection. Sweet and loving, she can't get enough attention, kisses, or pets. She gets along with other dogs and is good with kids but would do better with older kids. If you're having a lazy day she will cuddle all day long. If you're full of energy, she'll keep right up with you. She will be your best friend and stick to you like glue.  She's shown a little bit of human resource guarding or protective nature. She would do good with an experienced dog owner.  She loves to play with her two foster brothers and she doesn't let them get the better of her. She will entertain herself with toys or play for ages with other dogs. She's feisty, sweet, and full of love to give. She is very treat motivated and eager to learn new things.   She's great on a leash, but she does get distracted by squirrels or other small animals. Simply remind her to 'look at me' and attention goes back to you. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Franny and her family were dumped in a high kill shelter in West Texas. They are good with other dogs, kids and cats.   All dogs and puppies require supervision and training. Ready to add a four-legged beauty to your family! Franny has lots of puppy energy and is always on the go! She loves playing with her toys and running around. She is also in her teething stage so likes to chew. She will need teething chew toys and your patience to get her through this stage. She has done a good job on potty training and uses potty pads over night if needed or if we miss a cue. We are working on outside potty training she is not a big fan of wet grass so it has been a slow start with this weather. She has done a good job on sunny days.  We are working on leash training. She has not been a big fan of walking on a leash yet but will get there with time and patience. She gets a little nervous with loud noises such as cars kids playing etc. and will stop walking and want to be picked up. I'm sure she will grow out of this with time as she gets older.  She likes to play outside with her human not a fan of being without her human.  She is a good eater and likes soft treats. She likes to snuggle and will follow you everywhere when not playing she is the sweetest girl. Franny is in a foster home with cats and dogs and gets along with all of them. She loves playing with them and giving kisses to the resident fur babies and humans.  She plays well with her chew toys, stuffies and tug ropes. She has lots of energy and needs a family that can handle her silliness.  She sleeps through the night with no accidents. She likes to sleep with her humans but will do fine in a pet bed next to you. Not a fan of the crate but could be in time. She has been home for a few hours at a time with the other fur babies and has done just fine.  Franny is looking for a loving home that will continue to give her the proper training and guidance she needs to grow. She is a sweet and smart girl and needs a family with patience and that will love her unconditionally.  Please put in your application on our website mattysheartandsoulanimalrescue.rescuegroups.org.      Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 25, 2024, 11:44 pm

Frankie was underweight at arrival, and struggled with overeating since he didn't need to vy for food. He's doing much better, knowing he gets two meals a day and treats between!
