Story
Skye is a one-year-old black Doodle who is bursting with energy! At about 50 pounds, she is whip-smart and always has the cutest full-body wiggles when she’s happy. This pup thrives on exercise and engagement. She loves the mental challenge of learning new tricks and is eager to please, picking up commands quickly. Whether it’s chasing a ball, tossing a rope toy in the air, or running alongside you, Skye is always ready for action! She will require a fenced yard in her future home to meet her energy needs.Skye is house-trained and great at signaling when she needs to go outside. She does well with her crate, including naps and bedtime.. Because of her history, Skye sometimes struggles to relax and may feel fearful of new situations or people, so patience is key when she's adjusting to a new home. Once she's comfortable, she loves being near her people and taking all the belly rubs she can get. When making new friends, her foster family recommends slow introductions. She does not have experience with cats, and her reactions to meeting new dogs are mixed. Sometimes she's interested, and other times she's afraid. With her humans, she will require a home without young children (no kids under 13) because of her mouthy behavior when excited.Skye is looking for an active home with people who enjoy having a smart, loyal companion by their side. With some patience, she’ll grow into the wonderful, devoted dog she’s meant to be!If you are interested in this dog, fill out an application at this link to get the ball rolling - https://pethavenmn.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/dog-adoption-application/The adoption fee is $450. Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, heartworm/Lyme test, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, and Bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, and microchip implant (including registration). Adoption fees INCLUDE a mandatory sales tax of 7.525%. Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional’s recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal’s history is often unknown. Due to post-adoption services provided, we prefer to adopt within a 150-mile radius of the Twin Cities. However, we will consider up to 250 miles if the foster agrees to travel requirements and staff approval.

Story
HI - I'M SHIRLEY, and I'm a very special girl. I was clearly loved by someone once because I'm pretty chubby - I weigh about 93 pounds! I was impounded at a scary California shelter and while there, I rested patiently, just waiting for someone to notice me. I'm a 7-year-old Lab-Pit mix, so I figured it may take awhile, and sure enough I ended up being the shelter's longest resident. They kept me around for months because I am such a great, easygoing girl. I'm very quiet, mellow and I love human attention and affection. I'd make a great movie-watching buddy or snuggler. I truly need a foster or forever home. If you can open your home and heart to be, I would be so grateful. I'm currently in California, but can be transported to you in Minnesota. Please email for an application.

FOSTER CARE: Our rescues are fostered in individual homes or at our facility. We work hard to ensure that our rescues have a supportive family while at foster homes to help them move forward and get ready for their forever home. We work on training, crate-training and socialization before an animal is adopted out. Foster homes are extremely important to the success of the cat at their forever home, and it is extremely rewarding to be able to watch the cats growth as you help them on their journey to their happy ending. YOU CAN HELP: If you’re not able to foster or adopt right now, please consider sponsoring a Legend. Your donation will help with our care and pay for medical costs. Story
Magdalena is not just any dog; she is a testament to the resilience and the unwavering spirit of a survivor. This beautiful 5-year-old Labrador mix has faced challenges that would have deterred many, yet her spirit remains unbroken and her heart full of love. Magdalena's journey has been a tough one. Due to a human-caused incident, she tragically lost one of her legs and, heartbreakingly, her puppies as well. Despite these hardships, Magdalena has shown incredible strength and determination to heal both physically and emotionally. The last picture was taken during her early healing stages, you can see her courageously taking each step forward, supported by her indomitable spirit. Today, Magdalena is fully healed and ready to embark on a new chapter of her life - one filled with love, compassion, and the security of a forever home. Her gentle demeanor and loving nature shine through every interaction. Magdalena adores human companionship and has a special affinity for belly rubs and leisurely walks. She is known for her playful antics and happy face. Magdalena's ideal home would be one where she is cherished as a member of the family and the only dog in the home. She does well with dogs her size or bigger but hasn't been around small dogs much and doesn't do well with smaller dogs. She has also never been around cats but given her reaction to small dogs, she probably would do best in a home without cats. She thrives on affection and is eager to return it tenfold. Whether it's snuggling on the couch or exploring the great outdoors, Magdalena is up for any adventure as long as she's by your side. If you're ready to open your heart to a dog who has overcome adversity with grace and love, Magdalena is waiting to meet you. Help us give this incredible survivor the happy ending she deserves - a forever home filled with kindness, warmth, and the promise of a brighter tomorrow. Could you be the one to give Magdalena the loving home she's been waiting for? Reach out today to meet this special dog and discover the joy she can bring to your life.

Story
Chase is a 7.5 yr old male black lab, shepherd, husky mix with blue eyes- he's a big guy at 86#, and this is his ideal weight. He previously lived with people that were happy to have him in the family, but didn't really spend any time with obedience training - Chase knows his name but no commands. The foster is teaching him to sit for a treat. He is also learning leash manners - still tends to pull if he wants to check something out. He enjoys time outside, and being part husky, he will vocalize to you when he wants to go out. Actually, he also does that when he wants treats and pets......you just have to figure out which one he wants. Because he can get over a 4 ft. high fence, Chase needs a 5 ft fenced enclosure so he can safely be outside for extended periods, or he will need to be on a tieout. Chase enjoys walks, and will chase after small critters in the yard. There are 2 felines in his foster home and he ignores them. He is almost indifferent to the other dog in his foster home, and would be perfectly content to be the "only dog". He enjoys chewing on bones (tends to bury them when he is done chewing) and on rope toys; some interest in balls, but not in retrieving them. Chase likes some attention from his people, especially pets and belly rubs - he's a dog that will sit close to you, but not necessarily snuggle. Well behaved indoors, and has free run of the house when left - thus far he's been left for about 4 hrs. but the foster expects he would be fine up to 8 hrs. Chase is housebroken, and will come over to you, "talk", and walk to the door when he needs to go out. He sheds seasonally, and will need brushing in the spring to remove the winter undercoat he develops. I don't know if he has ever lived with children - Chase is a mature dog, and not interested in playing. Chase is neutered and current on distemper and rabies vaccinations. His microchip is registered to Second Chance. Chase has a $275 adoption fee. If you are interested in meeting him, call 651-771-5662.

Story
To apply for a dog from All Dog Rescue, please fill out our online application at www.AllDogMN.org.  All Dog Rescue only adopts to homes within 60-miles of the Twin Cities. Visit our FAQ page to learn why. Hey, it's me, Penny! I'm a 4-year-old, 60-pound Shepherd mix, and if you're looking for a loyal, independent companion with a side of sass, well... you found her. My foster mom says it's time I share my story, so let's get to it.First off, baths and nail trims? Ugh, not my jam, but I'll grin and bear it (mostly). I'm 99% house-trained (accidents happen, okay?) and I'll mosey over to the door when nature calls. I get along with other dogs if there are no toys or treats involved, but if you want me to be the star of the show, I'm cool with that too. Very cool. I mean, who wouldn't want me as their one and only?Kids and cats? Eh, let's not. I live with a cat right now, but honestly, I'm more interested in keeping the yard squirrel-free&#194&#151which I do quite well, thank you very much.I'm a little shy at first and need some time to warm up to new humans, but once I trust you, we'll be best friends for life. I'm not big on shared walls - aka apartments - because I do have some opinions I like to voice. I'm also a bit of a Houdini when it comes to harnesses, but my foster mom found a collar I can't escape from. Challenge accepted, I guess!I love walks, backyard time, and car rides. I'll need a fenced yard, though, because my brain loves puzzles, and sometimes those puzzles involve digging under fences for a bit of solo exploring. Supervision is key here, people.I'm smart, I'm independent, and yes, I can be stubborn, but I promise once I'm in your circle, I'm a total lovebug. Just add pizza crusts and a little patience, and we'll be golden.October 25, 2024, 12:26 pm

Here's her bio for iShelters:Do you have a lot of tennis balls sitting around the house and you don't know what to do with them?Meet Nala! Nala is a 2 year old lab mix who would love to play fetch with you as long as you would like. Bonus - when you are done throwing, Nala is fine to hang out on the couch with you. She would like you to know that around 8pm is when she is done for the day and she'll get ready for bedtime then.Nala's goals in life: Fitting as many tennis balls in her mouth at one time (her current record is two), finding someone with a fenced in backyard for maximum tennis ball fetching safety, making as many human friends as possible.Nala prefers other dogs who are low-key, as she is still working through how to control her energy when meeting new dogs. If you have zero dogs in your home right now, Nala would be a great fit to fill your family! Nala loves people but may be too excited for a little kid, or kids who have not been around dogs before. She is hard at work with a trainer who is patiently showing her how to be a proper lady around other dogs, and helping her be the best Nala she can be!To apply for a dog from All Dog Rescue, please fill out our online application at: alldogmn.org/Adopt.htmlAll Dog Rescue adopts out to homes within 60-miles of the Twin Cities due to post-adoption services and volunteer commitment. Meet Simon! Simon is a 4-month-old, 23-pound Husky/Lab mix — and the last of his litter to find a forever home! This handsome boy is bold, curious, and thoughtful in his own way. He likes to take a quick pause before leaping into new adventures, but once he’s decided, there’s no stopping him! Simon is brave, smart, and not shy about asking for what he wants — whether it’s treats, toys, or snuggles. Kisses are his specialty, and he gives them out generously to everyone he meets. When he’s done with his puppy antics, Simon transforms into a total cuddle bug. No pillow fort? No problem — he’ll make one himself! He’s already working on his puppy skills, including going outside for potty breaks, sitting for treats, and learning new commands. He doesn’t sleep through the night just yet, but after a quick potty break and breakfast, he’s happy to snooze again. Simon is equal parts adventure buddy and couch companion — the perfect match for an active family who loves both playtime and cuddle time. If you’re ready to give this sweet boy the forever home he deserves, apply today!

Story
Meet Diesel! This 1-year-old, 44-pound terrier mix is pure joy wrapped in fur. Diesel is a happy-go-lucky, submissive, and sweet boy who literally can’t stop smiling. He’s the kind of dog whose tail never quits and whose grin could brighten anyone’s day. Diesel loves being outside, chasing balls (though he’s still working on the “bring it back” part), and soaking up every ounce of affection he can get. He’s house trained, knows basic commands like “sit,” and will trot right into his playpen when asked—because yes, he’s both smart and eager to please. He does great with other dogs after a proper introduction and might be a little shy at first, but once he feels comfortable, he’s all in for friendship and fun. With people, he’s a total cuddle bug who lives for love and attention. If you’re looking for a loyal sidekick with a goofy grin and a heart of gold, Diesel’s your guy!

Story
This is a big boy! Kingsley is 3.5 years old and 95lbs! He’s been trained but unfortunately I had heart failure about 2 years ago and haven’t been able to truly get back to working with him. He has been raised in a home with 3 kids, 2 other dogs, a cat, rabbits and even chickens. He’s wonderful with grown ups but due to his size I don’t let the smaller kiddos around him much. I prefer he goes somewhere with land as he is big (way bigger than his breeder said he’d be) and probably with older kids. He loves to be around people but can roam in the yard all day. He’s a total sweetheart! I’m only rehoming him because he deserves a place that can give him more space. He has always been overwhelmed by our kids but loves them so much, he wants to cuddle but ends up sitting on them and he’s heavy! I can neuter him prior to new home :)
