At about 50 pounds, she is whip-smart and always has the cutest full-body wiggles when she’s happy.This pup thrives on exercise and engagement. She loves the mental challenge of learning new tricks and is eager to please, picking up commands quickly. Whether it’s chasing a ball, tossing a rope toy in the air, or running alongside you, Skye is always ready for action! She will require a fenced yard in her future home to meet her energy needs.Skye is house-trained and great at signaling when she needs to go outside. She does well with her crate, including naps and bedtime.. Because of her history, Skye sometimes struggles to relax and may feel fearful of new situations or people, so patience is key when she's adjusting to a new home. Once she's comfortable, she loves being near her people and taking all the belly rubs she can get.When making new friends, her foster family recommends slow introductions. She does not have experience with cats, and her reactions to meeting new dogs are mixed. Sometimes she's interested, and other times she's afraid. HI - I'M SHIRLEY, and I'm a very special girl. I was clearly loved by someone once because I'm pretty chubby - I weigh about 93 pounds! I was impounded at a scary California shelter and while there, I rested patiently, just waiting for someone to notice me. I'm a 7-year-old Lab-Pit mix, so I figured it may take awhile, and sure enough I ended up being the shelter's longest resident. They kept me around for months because I am such a great, easygoing girl. I'm very quiet, mellow and I love human attention and affection. I'd make a great movie-watching buddy or snuggler. I truly need a foster or forever home. If you can open your home and heart to be, I would be so grateful. I'm currently in California, but can be transported to you in Minnesota. Whiskey is a great dog, he is an awesome companion dog. He has lots of energy but he can also cuddle. He is mostly potty trained but can have accidents if left alone for more than 8 hours. He is used to be kennel trained but we have not used it in a while, he sleeps in his own bed. He loves to go on walks and he is very active and does not like thunderstorms. He is very selective of food scraps and treats, he just like what he likes! He adores kids, any age. Does not like cats or small dogs, he might think they are toys or prey. Whiskey can jump very high! Therefore if you have a fence it needs to be 6 to 8 ft otherwise you will have to leash him to go outside. We are looking for someone that have time to spend with him and love him as a part of the family. Whiskey is still waiting for someone who really loves dogs and his energy. Unfortunately, my daughter's allergies are getting worse but I really want him in good hands and someone who really takes care of him.

Chase is a 7.5 yr old male black lab, shepherd, husky mix with blue eyes- he's a big guy at 86#, and this is his ideal weight. He previously lived with people that were happy to have him in the family, but didn't really spend any time with obedience training - Chase knows his name but no commands. The foster is teaching him to sit for a treat. He is also learning leash manners - still tends to pull if he wants to check something out. He enjoys time outside, and being part husky, he will vocalize to you when he wants to go out. Actually, he also does that when he wants treats and pets......you just have to figure out which one he wants. Because he can get over a 4 ft. high fence, Chase needs a 5 ft fenced enclosure so he can safely be outside for extended periods, or he will need to be on a tieout. Chase enjoys walks, and will chase after small critters in the yard. There are 2 felines in his foster home and he ignores them. He is almost indifferent to the other dog in his foster home, and would be perfectly content to be the "only dog". He enjoys chewing on bones (tends to bury them when he is done chewing) and on rope toys; some interest in balls, but not in retrieving them. Chase likes some attention from his people, especially pets and belly rubs - he's a dog that will sit close to you, but not necessarily snuggle. Well behaved indoors, and has free run of the house when left - thus far he's been left for about 4 hrs. but the foster expects he would be fine up to 8 hrs. Chase is housebroken, and will come over to you, "talk", and walk to the door when he needs to go out. He sheds seasonally, and will need brushing in the spring to remove the winter undercoat he develops. I don't know if he has ever lived with children - Chase is a mature dog, and not interested in playing. Chase is neutered and current on distemper and rabies vaccinations.
