Nellie can be a little shy when meeting other dogs and people, but soon warms up, and she gets on fine with children (she currently lives with respectful human foster siblings and they get on great). Despite everything she’s been through, Espi has shown us that her heart is still open. She is a very sweet girl, she just needs a little time to feel safe with new people. She is shy at first and takes some time to trust. The best way to win her over is actually to give her space and let her come to you. Fast movements toward her face or coming towards her too fast can make her nervous so patience and calm energy goes a long way with this girl. Once she realizes she’s safe, she will ask you for pets by giving you her paw. She is house trained, crate trained and does well with other dogs. While she isn’t necessarily looking for a constant playmate, she enjoys hanging out and coexisting with other dogs. Espi is very food motivated.
