Story
Delilah has a few things to say, and she’s not afraid to let her voice be heard. This sweet girl is a treat-loving, scratch-seeking little charmer who knows exactly how to lean into a good dose of affection. She may be a little nervous when you first meet, but give her a minute and she’ll warm right up, especially once she realizes you come bearing pets and treats. She does well with other dogs, has a few tricks up her sleeve, and is always ready to show off what she knows. Delilah is the kind of girl who just needs a little time to find her confidence, and once she does, you’ll have a sweet, silly friend who has plenty to say and even more love to give!

Delilah is simply put, a DELIGHT! She has been very respectful of our cat, and his boundaries, from the first introduction. She has a wonderfully inquisitive personality, and has already picked up on basic commands and body language. We have had many walks, where she strolls at a good pace depending on how fast we wanted to go.
She has a hearty appetite, takes medication very easily with her favorite snackeroonies, and doesn’t discriminate between types of food she’s been given. She likes to cuddle up close when relaxing, and will sleep with you right next to your head, if you let her. She’s very clear about when she needs to be taken outside to go potty, which is a very important part of being fully potty trained.
She will also communicate her hunger with the same tells, but with a little less intensity. She’ll sit next to you, put her paw on you, and vocalize a slight whimpering pattern. She says everything she needs with her eyes, which includes her absolute adoration, appreciation, curiosity, and distaste for being closed out of the bathroom. She hasn’t jumped up on our bed without us being clear that she’s being asked to, and does so with an eager to please gusto! She’s a speedy lady on the stairs, and has no problem with getting up on our low bed. She’s just a regular old ham, doing jump spins, sits, and back slides. We’ve heard her mumbling something a few times, and we think she’s saying “ I'm 50 years old, and I like to kick, stretch, and kick”.
It’s curiously striking a resemblance to another over 50’s girl, Sally O’Malley. She’s got enough energy to play, but she’s also ok to hang out with us watching movies in bed. She’ll become very comfortable with you, very quickly, and we think that’s a great way of showing her instincts about love. Delilah has a huge heart, a great personality that shows when she’s relaxed, and she’s been great with all people, and animals alike.
Her face is so darn cute, and it’s easy to see that she’ll be very happy to incorporate herself into a loving home, and take on your schedules and make your life better. I image her with kids that want to be involved with learning to care for a pet, because she’s a clear communicator with her bathroom and hunger needs, and doesn’t pull on her leash when walking. She has no health issues, (taken medication from us for post dental procedure) doesn’t seem scared or skittish, and is just very happy to please. Anyone would be hitting the jackpot to take this little girl home with them. She can’t wait to start loving you!
