Story
Meet Muffin! 🐾 This little lady may be small in size, but she's got a heart full of love to give! Muffin is an adorable 8.5 lb pup whose past is a bit of a mystery but we know that she brought nothing but sweetness with her. Muffin is playful, affectionate, and gets along beautifully with just about everyone she meets. She's the kind of dog who will have the whole family wrapped around his tiny paw in no time. Whether it's a game of fetch, a cuddle on the couch, or simply following you from room to room, Muffin is so happy to be with company. We don't know much about Muffin's story before she came to us, but we know she deserves a loving forever home with a family who adores her as much as she'll adore them!

Story
Meet Squirt! Squirt is a happy, mellow pup who brings cuddles and love wherever he goes! He's the full package, calm and quiet in the home, but happy to head out on walks (and great on leash too). He's always available for snuggling up on the sofa and will make a great companion for a many different homes as he gets on with kids and other dogs. Squirt is potty trained and crate trained, and knows how to hop up onto the couch to land in your lap, and your heart! He loves leaning in for affection and has a soft, gentle way of interacting that makes him easy to love. He hasn't quite mastered stairs yet but with his affection motivated personality, we're sure he can learn with plenty of verbal praise. He’s eager to connect and happiest when he’s included in the action. If you’re looking for a mellow, friendly companion who will fit right into family life and keep everyone smiling, Squirt is ready to jump in and steal your heart!

Story
(I'm being fostered in the East Bay)Exuberant Mr. Pickles loves to play, play, play! He is a happy and confident high-energy pup who appreciates a game of fetch, chewing on kongs, and going for walks where he can take in all the sights and sounds. He has a gorgeous wiry coat and eyes that look to you for connection. He is a little barky when he sees other dogs on walks, but is redirected pretty easily. He sleeps in a crate at night and is potty trained. The cutest thing about Mr. Pickles is his pug-like face on a lanky terrier body - he has such a unique look! He is also known to try to climb up on his foster's lap during meetings (even though at 25 lbs he is a little too big to be a lap dog), as he loves giving affection. There are dogs of all sizes in Mr. Pickles' foster home and he does great with the whole crew and he lets the little dogs boss him around. He is fantastic in the car, too - very chill. Mr. Pickles would make a great addition to a person or family looking for an active and energetic pup to accompany them on all of life's adventures. ***ADOPTION FEE SPONSORED*** Primary Color: Cream Secondary Color: Tan Weight: 23.8 Age: 1yrs 1mths 3wks

Story
We love Grin's crooked smile  and his super-soft fur. Grin is about 8 years old and currently a bit over 16 pounds. He loves people and is super affectionate with his person; he loves to cuddle and would like a home where he is allowed on the bed. That said, he is not needy and he is crate trained and will sleep quietly all night in his crate. Grin needs an adult home. &#226&#128&#139Grin seems like a cross between a Puggle (Pug/Beagle) and   another breed. He has some of the looks of a Puggle, but not all. Grin lives with 3 other dogs and is great with them. He plays well with his foster sisters and respects the senior dog in the house. He would do fine with other dogs, or as an only dog. He is house trained and knows how to use a dog door. He does need a home with a private yard or patio. Grin doesn't pull on leash and is great on neighborhood walks where other dogs are also on leash. He will bark at off-leash dogs that run towards him, his foster is working on this and he is doing very well, but he does not do well in off-leash dog parks. He is fine meeting new dogs in his home or their home, and has made friends with some dogs he has met on walks (the key is when their people give him treats). If you are looking for love,  Grin may be the guy you are looking for.    Grateful Dogs Rescue incurs substantial veterinary and other expenses in rescuing our dogs. In order to recoup some of these costs, we request a tax-deductible donation for each adoption. The suggested donation for Grin is $200. If you are interested in adopting Grin, please complete our online adoption application at https://www.gratefuldogsrescue.org/adoption-process/ . One of our volunteers will get back to you. Adoptions are local, confined to the SF Bay Area. See our other available dogs at  https://www.gratefuldogsrescue.org/available-dogs/ March 7, 2026, 12:47 pm

Story
Ever wondered what would happen if a pug, a Frenchie, and maybe a friendly alien from Mars started a party together? You’d get Salt n Pepa, the irresistibly adorable dog who’s equal parts charm, wiggles, and joy. She’s playful to her core, always up for games, cuddles, and any excuse to soak up love and attention. Salt n Pepa has a way of turning every day into a celebration, whether she’s hanging around with her dog pals or striking a silly pose to make you laugh. She gets along great with other dogs and brings a sparkle of fun wherever she goes. Life with Salt n Pepa means smiles, snuggles, and an endless supply of happy energy. Here's some notes from her foster: Salt n Pepa is the definition of a gentle, loving companion. She has such a sweet, soulful presence and truly just wants to be close to her person. She will follow you from room to room, curl up beside you, and happily soak up all the love you’re willing to give. As she’s been feeling better, her personality has really started to shine—she’s showing little bursts of playfulness, tail wags, curiosity, and even enjoys watching TV with you. She’s incredibly calm, affectionate, and easy to be around, making her the kind of dog who fits beautifully into a peaceful home. She absolutely loves snuggling, massages, being brushed, and being tucked in cozy with a blanket. She has a very nurturing, almost “babied” energy—she just wants to feel safe, comfortable, and loved. And one of her standout features—she is incredibly soft. Her hair is so soft and she does not shed, which makes all those cuddles even better. She’s also showing signs of being very smart and intuitive, already beginning to signal when she needs to go outside. Salt n Pepa would thrive in a home where she can be close to her people, get lots of affection, and continue to blossom as her health returns. She is truly a special little soul who will form a deep bond with her person. ** Salt-n-Pepa has a special invitation to Prom on Saturday and will be available to adopt after that if she doesn’t find his forever date that night.
