Story
Having produced some of the finest consoles in the video game industry, Nintendo is ready to "switch" from rescuing Princess Zelda on the streets of Stanislaus to being your best friend. A handsome brown-eyed fellow not unlike Donkey Kong, Nintendo is a chihuahua mix who qualifies as a Young Senior at only eight-years-old. He is great with other dogs, and loves long walks followed by couch time. Take him to headquarters in Kyoto, or stay home to play video games. As long as Nintendo is receiving your love and affection, he'll be your little Super Mario forever.

Story
We love Grin's crooked smile  and his super-soft fur. Grin is about 8 years old and currently a bit over 16 pounds. He loves people and is super affectionate with his person; he loves to cuddle and would like a home where he is allowed on the bed. That said, he is not needy and he is crate trained and will sleep quietly all night in his crate. Grin needs an adult home. &#226&#128&#139Grin seems like a cross between a Puggle (Pug/Beagle) and   another breed. He has some of the looks of a Puggle, but not all. Grin lives with 3 other dogs and is great with them. He plays well with his foster sisters and respects the senior dog in the house. He would do fine with other dogs, or as an only dog. He is house trained and knows how to use a dog door. He does need a home with a private yard or patio. Grin doesn't pull on leash and is great on neighborhood walks where other dogs are also on leash. He will bark at off-leash dogs that run towards him, his foster is working on this and he is doing very well, but he does not do well in off-leash dog parks. He is fine meeting new dogs in his home or their home, and has made friends with some dogs he has met on walks (the key is when their people give him treats). If you are looking for love,  Grin may be the guy you are looking for.    Grateful Dogs Rescue incurs substantial veterinary and other expenses in rescuing our dogs. In order to recoup some of these costs, we request a tax-deductible donation for each adoption. The suggested donation for Grin is $200. If you are interested in adopting Grin, please complete our online adoption application at https://www.gratefuldogsrescue.org/adoption-process/ . One of our volunteers will get back to you. Adoptions are local, confined to the SF Bay Area. See our other available dogs at  https://www.gratefuldogsrescue.org/available-dogs/ February 11, 2026, 7:27 pm

Story
Thelma is sweet, smart, energetic, loyal, and goofy! She is mostly housetrained and is working on her leash skills. She gets along well with other dogs and older kids. (She has not been introduced to cats yet.) She can be a bit anxious, so she probably needs someone who is mostly home. She loves her squeaky toys and playing tug-a-war with other dogs. Meet this sweetie by filling out a questionnaire and a volunteer will contact you. (JH) Thelma weighs 18 pounds.

Story
Would you love an active best friend that could run with you or chase a ball all day? Bowser would love nothing more than to join you on your daily adventures. His foster mom says he has all-day energy, but is happy to chill out for cuddles on the couch as well. He is described as smart and very trainable. Offer him a treat and he will look to please and be your best friend. Bowser would do best in a quiet and calm home, away from city life. Give this loving guy a chance and you'll get an active best friend for life. Bowser weighs 20 pounds.

He's affectionate, soft-coated, and adores other dogs. Whether he's tearing around the yard or settling into your lap for an afternoon of work-from-home companionship, this little guy knows how to make every moment count! Daily routine This boy starts his day bright and early, usually between 6-7am, when his humans rise. Breakfast follows around 6:30–7:00am, lunch between 1:00–2:30pm, and dinner around 6–7pm. By 8–9pm, he's settling in for the night—currently on the couch next to his humans as he adjusts to life as a solo pup. He eats puppy kibble, enjoys dog treats, and gets the occasional bully stick. Since he's not fully vaccinated yet, he's not going on walks, but he gets plenty of playtime at home and in the yard—which he absolutely loves. When no one is home, he stays in his x-pen. On three weekdays, that's typically from about 7:45am until early afternoon. He'll voice his opinion at first about being left alone, but settles down for naps.  When the family is home, Linus rotates between supervised time roaming the house and joyful zoomies in the yard. He's the best companion for work-from-home days, checking in on you throughout the day and happily hanging out in the kitchen while you do housework. If you're at the computer, he'd love nothing more than an invitation to curl up in your lap—where he'll stay as long as you let him, perfectly content to nap while you work. He's an official lap dog for life! Personality & play Linus is a playful, puppy with lots of enthusiasm for life. He loves tug-of-war, running with kids, and racing around the yard—especially through leaf piles. If he finds a leaf or stick, it instantly becomes his favorite treasure. He adores people of all ages, including kids (9–14), greeting everyone with excitement, kisses, and requests to be picked up. He's affectionate, enjoys laps and being held, and is especially cuddly when he's winding down. This sweet boy loves belly rubs and has transformed into a total cuddle bug, now taking naps all over the house as long as he's close to his humans. His treat time personality is absolutely hilarious. The moment he hears the crinkling bag, he becomes a comedy show—frantically alternating between jumping with excitement and sitting down to wait for the command, as if two voices in his head are battling it out ('sit!' 'jump!' 'sit!' 'jump!'). But once you actually say 'sit,' he locks it in and resists the urge to bounce. Training & habits He's learning to potty outside and uses pads well for poop, though he still has occasional pee accidents elsewhere in the house. He does well with 'come' and 'sit' commands. As a puppy, he does nip and chew, especially when excited or teething, but he's easily redirected to toys and is learning quickly. With other dogs Linus was a wonderful companion to his foster brother Blaze. They played beautifully together and shared sweet daily moments—like walking to the x-pen together at bedtime and putting themselves to bed! When Blaze wasn't feeling well one day, Linus showed his gentle side, licking his friend's face instead of playing. But he's also proven he can thrive as an only dog, enjoying both attention from his humans and independent time exploring the yard or napping nearby. Why you'll love him Linus is emotionally tuned in, always checking on his people. He's funny, loving, endlessly entertaining, and can be both an enthusiastic playmate and a peaceful lap companion. He's independent enough to entertain himself but devoted enough to always want to be near you—the kind of puppy who leaves paw prints on your heart and who will happily end every day with one last cuddle before bed.February 18, 2026, 10:57 am
