Age: DOB 3/28/23 Dog friendly: Yes Cat friendly: Yes, dog savvy cats Kid friendly: Yes Potty trained: Yes, good on a schedule Crate trained: Yes Your eyes do not deceive you, I really am that gorgeous! My name is Paprika, when I was born everybody said that I was one of the prettiest pup they have seen and I have to agree with them. Along with being beautiful I am also pretty smart and an all around good pup. From her foster mom: Paprika follows me in the yard, is best buddies with my German Shepherd, does well with my 2 cats and granddaughter of 5 yrs old. She is still learning sit and stay, but comes in the house when called every time. She is so proud of learning to walk on leash with her new best buddy. She sleeps in her crate, but would love to sleep in my bedroom if allowed. She just needs a little extra TLC for her MegaE so eats in a chair made just for her. Do you think you're her forever home? **** She has been seen by an internal medicine specialist and diagnosed with Megaesophagus (basically an esophagus that doesn’t push food down to the stomach like it normally should), at times causing regurgitation. Supportive therapy for dogs with megaesophagus includes: • Raising food and water bowls to let gravity help the eating process. Paprika uses a specially designed Bailey chair that comes with her adoption. • Changing the form of food based on the dog’s specific needs. • Providing smaller, more frequent meals throughout the day. • Encouraging dogs to sleep with their front end slightly elevated. • Medications Dogs with megaesophagus can live happy lives with regular veterinary care and pet parent dedication. **** Adoption Fee: $350Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Most of our adoptable dogs were previously stray dogs with little history, we can’t be 100% sure of a dog’s breed mix, and unless there is a specific date of birth listed, we can’t be 100% sure of a dog’s age. Additionally, our assessments of a dog's interactions with other dogs, cats, or children are based on OUR experiences. Your experience may differ. ADOPTION FEE INCLUDES: Wellness check Spay/neuter (puppies adopted with required spay/neuter certificate) Age appropriate vaccines - rabies as required by law and distemper combo or proof of positive titer test Heartworm test if over 7 months of age Fecal test and/or deworming for parasites Microchip ~ Healing Hearts rescue will also provide dental procedures, bloodwork, surgeries, and/or any other additional vet work as needed while dogs are in our care. ~ Adoption fees are non-negotiable and fees are listed on the dog's profile ~ Adoption fees can be paid the following ways with the required sales tax (7.525%) added: PayPal Credit Card Cash WANT TO HELP SAVE MORE DOGS?
