PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION AND REQUIREMENTS FOR ADOPTION.LIZZIE is currently in foster care in Houston, Texas and the adoption fee includes her transportation with Mighty Mutt Shipping to the north east if interested there is an application on our website https:/www.houstonshaggydogrescue.org/apply/ Sweet Lizzie is approx 5 years and 32 lbs,she is the sweetest girl but would do better as an only dog she has been treated for heartworms,had her Acl and miniscus repaired and her back left leg amputated due to an old fracture that had healed correctly and was not repairable so she can be a little testy with other dogs that are pushy and get in her face or space, she just wants to observe she loves people and loves getting lots of attention she is very quiet and well behaved and enjoys sitting outside on the patio on a big comfy bed or in a dog bed wherever her foster is , she is going to make a great companion for some lucky people THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY IN FOSTER CARE IN HOUSTON, TEXAS,WE SHIP OUR DOGS WITH MIGHTY MUTT SHIPPING TO THE NORTH EAST OUR RESCUE POLICY - It is our rescue policy for all our dogs that we require a home with experienced dog owners only and no children under that age of 8 years. The total adoption fee of $400 ( and includes the required interstate health certificate and transport , spay/neuter, shots including rabies, bordatella, parvo, distemper ,canine influenza, and microchip. Cutest ever - probably pure Shih Tzu boy mini lover still with a puppy spirit - can't be any more super delicious in every way. LOVES kids, LOVES other dogs, ok with cats (not in foster with them but tested with them) and seemingly crate and housetrained and just a great match for a family looking for this breed. Sadly we don't have much history - he was a drop off from someone who didn't leave any info except that he and his house buddy could no longer live with them! No words but this is his past - he was obviously loved too as he does not seem to suffer from any trauma. He was then fostered with great care in one of our southern rescuer's homes and is now moving to our northern foster here in NY/CT. He is heartworm negative and neutered and vaccinated too!. He loves to play in the yard and is good on a leash and loves being by your side. Great for an active family who wants not just a super dog but a goofy goofball Shih Tzu as he is typical of his breed. Tiny floof too! His foster reports, "He is great with kids of all ages - seems to have no issue with children. He is so much fun and even loves my dogs and EVERYONE who wants a kiss! We are still learning his quirks but right now can't find anything negative to report as he is just a joy and makes us smile!" Spud is a small dog at 8 lbs and is a perfect size right now. He has had his vaccines and microchip and has been dewormed/defleaed too. HEARTWORM NEGATIVE neutered etc... Even had recent dental! Donation minimum is $650 to cover his transport here and all of his vetting. Out of state adopters MUST pick up in Bedford Hills NY - no exceptions.
