For consideration please be over 26 in NY, NJ, Philadelphia or CT area only have kids 10 or over. Have a home with lots of dog runs, parks or fenced in yard. Please note we do not adopt in the Bronx nor Staten Island. We have trainers in Brooklyn, LIC, Astoria, Manhattan, LI, NJ ,and CT 20 miles from Greenwich. Kids `10 and up. He is good with all kids but we prefer older to continue his recall training. Our veterinary partner estimates that Gideon is 10 years old at the time of intake in February 2022. Gideon is good with people who respect his space and he's good with other dogs, but cats--not so much! He is an adorable, albeit grumpy, senior boy who lives life on his own terms--he will let you know when you are violating his person or his space. He doesn't like cats and he doesn't like to be picked up; he likes to have his back rubbed, but if you hit the wrong spot, watch out! Gideon will do best in a home with snarky dog experience, where he can be independent, and if there are children they should be older and capable of respecting Gideon and his space. This is Max he’s an 11 year old shih tzu he wears his age very well he is care free, easy going, affectionate, and very loyal. Max is very silly he knows how to make you laugh on the worst days and always the happiest to be around people. As you can also tell he is an expert sunbather! My Father gifted him to me when I was 13 (now 22). Over the years it has been more and more difficult to keep up with the up his maintenance. He currently has serve skin allergies and I unfortunately do not have the finances to take care of myself and Max. I am hoping that I can find someone who can take great care of him and his medical needs because he deserves nothing but the absolute best.
