You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Please contact JLi for more information about this pet. Thanks for your interest in a pet from A.R.F.! If you see a pet here, they are still available for adoption and you should apply through our adoption application on our website at  https://www.arf-il.org/adopt/application/   Linus is an 8 year old male Shih Tzu who weighs in at 17 pounds.  This dog's adoption fee is $350.  If you are still interested, please read more below. Linus is a sweet and calm good boy. He is a very chill and relaxed dog who will play with toys on his own or loves a tug or chase game. He likes to go outside and explore the backyard. He is amazing on a leash and doesn’t pull or react. He greets other dogs politely. He likes being with other dogs but is also fine on his own. Due to luxating patellas, Linus is struggling with stairs a little bit. He can do some stairs but would prefer not to go up and down all day. He will need some help from his human to establish a routine to keep his joints feeling ok. Linus is crate-trained, and that is his safe space. He sleeps through the night in his cage. He does have free access to all of his foster’s house with no problems. He is potty trained and will go out when called and come back inside when called. He will also let you know when he needs to go outside by standing by the door. He seems to understand basic commands, such as come. He will make a wonderful companion to someone and loves to be with his people. It did take him a few days in his foster home to feel safe and not retreat to his cage. This boy loves a good chewy and chicken treats - you will win his heart if you share some with him.  Linus came to ARF on April 5th.  He has been medically cleared by an ARF vet and will be getting a dental done soon. Linus is microchipped, up to date on all vaccinations, housebroken, and neutered.  This dog's family will be required to complete a basic obedience course of their choosing.  A meeting will not be scheduled until you have an approved application, so if you are interested in adopting this dog, fill out an Online Application today!  Once your application has been approved, an ARF volunteer will contact you to arrange a meeting.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.   Thank you for considering a rescue pet from A.R.F.-Animal Rescue Foundation! Story
Introducing BOGIE, a Bichon Frise & Shih Tzu cross breed who is just over a year old, weighing approximately 12 pounds. Bogie is a very sweet boy that was rescued from a puppy-mill breeder when he was “too old” to sell. Bogie does not have a mean bone in his body and really craves a gentle touch/pet because he finally feels safe. Bogie follows his foster mom around, especially when outside in the yard, and now feels safe to come when called. He now plays and sometimes gets the “zoomies” in the yard, looking so happy. His recovery from his horrible first year of life has been remarkable and we are so happy for him. Because Bogie can be skittish, especially from unfamiliar sounds and people, he requires a calm household, securely fenced yard and another friendly, small to medium sized dog in the home who will continue to mentor Bogie’s rehabilitation. Bogie enjoys the companionship of other dogs but more importantly he gets his confidence from them, learning more typical dog behavior. Bogie has good home manners and is housebroken. Due to his skittish nature, he has not been trained to go for walks on a leash. He is approved for adult-only  households. He is such a great little dog whose future is so bright! This dog has been examined by a licensed veterinarian, provided vaccines, been dewormed, tested for diseases, neutered, and microchipped. Our online application is not functioning currently; therefore ADOPTION APPLICATIONS are available upon request from acaringplace@comcast.net.   We apologize for the inconvenience. A Caring Place - All Breed Dog Rescue adopts throughout the Greater Chicagoland Area. All dogs and puppies live in foster homes, providing you as the adopter, with information on the animal's behaviors, needs, and requirements. We are always in search of fosters care providers. If you are one of those special people willing to open your heart and home to an animal in need and would like to receive information on how you can foster an animal, please contact us.     January 7, 2025, 4:30 am

Story
Red & Rosie are 6 years old Shih Tzu/ Pug mixes. They are closely bonded & must be adopted together. Both are very friendly with people, but they are dog- selective and should be in a home that has no other dogs. They are crate trained and will use a pee pad if left inside too long & not taken out to potty. Rosie and Red are best friends but that doesn’t mean they are always lovey-dovey. Nothing to fear! They work it out in a matter of seconds and go right back to being besties. They are two sweet, funny, affectionate and entertaining dogs! Because they are considered "seniors" the adoption fee for both is $300. FOCCAS is a foster based, non-profit rescue in Crossville, TN.
