Sweet and Salty that’s me! 9 pound 3 years old Shih Tzu mix. My name Napoleon fits me well as I have many of the same strong personality characteristics as that general. I was found as a stray and now looking for my forever home. I am neutered, up to date on all my vaccines. I am 95% housebroken. I like to play with toys and balls, get along with other small dogs, big dogs freak me out and are a no go. We don’t know about cats. I love to cuddle and sit on your lap, I will follow you from room to room. I don’t like my face touched. I hate the crate but will be ok to be gated to the kitchen area when my foster parents are out. I am an escape artist, so watch me carefully around open doors, a fenced yard or leash walks are important. I will bark at the door and loud noises. I am going to training and I have been told I am very smart. I have already learned sit, come (mostly), and “leave it”. I walk nicely on a leash. Continued training is required with my new family. I will need to get groomed frequently. My perfect forever home is an young adult home, no small children please, who will continue my training. Buddy Edward is a middle-aged dude with a beer gut - we are working on his weight! He is the happiest, fattest, little Shih Tzu 'around' - he snorts like a bulldog and waddles! He came to rescue at 18 lbs and has been told by our Vet his bloodwork looks great, but his weight is a concern and obesity will cause problems. His foster has him on a diet, special kibble and only one meal a day. Buddy has curly white and tan fur. He had bald spots due to skin infections which have grown back. Due to breed - in addition to exercise, will require extensive grooming! Regular trips to the Salon *Rescue does not complete DNA testing. Breed is based on documentation provided from the original owner and Vet clinic who saw him prior to rescue. Buddy is fostered with cats, small dogs and big dogs. He loves attention and sitting on his foster mom's lap. He is leash trained and potty trained. Loves car rides and 'going anywhere. This breed has a Life Expectancy is 10-15 years. We are seeking a committed family for this piglet. Buddy came to rescue with two dog siblings after his elderly owners could not afford to care for them and taken to a small shelter. The Animal Control Officer contacted CCR and requested help - the dogs were neglected, dirty and not housetrained. They were clearly loved but owners started to struggle to care for themselves and the pets. Buddy has more housetraining than his younger dog friends. Buddy is now up to date on vaccines, dewormed for gut health, microchipped and neutered. He tested negative for heartworms and is on prevention. I spent my days raising my two puppies and making sure they were safe, and now that they’re growing up, it’s finally my turn to find a forever home of my own. The people here say I have a way of winning hearts the moment you meet me. I’m calm, quiet, and easy to love. I’m not much of a barker, and I get along wonderfully with all the other dogs I’ve met. I still have some things to learn about living inside a home, but I do seem to understand how to use a doggie door already. No one is quite sure yet how I do with kids or cats, but everyone agrees that I have a very gentle, loving demeanor. I’m already spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, 4DX negative, and current on ProHeart 12 and Bravecto, so I’m all ready for my next adventure. A nice couple found me and my little family near a busy highway after we’d clearly been struggling for a while. We were covered in fleas and ticks, skinny, hungry, and sadly one of my siblings didn’t make it. Luckily, rescue stepped in and now things are looking a whole lot better for me. These days I’m doing what puppies do best — playing with toys, zooming around, and acting like everything is exciting because honestly… it is. I’ll need basic puppy training and regular grooming to keep my fluffy coat looking good, but I promise I’m worth it.
