Figgy aka Figs is a calm, laid back boy who is content with sitting in your lap, laying in bed with you, laying beside you...in other words, being your best friend! He prefers to have you in his sight at all times. Figs is on a strict diet of prescription food (he's a little too fluffy) and his snacks are green beans and English peas. His ideal home would include a fenced in yard where he can meander around the yard at his leisure. The only time he gets in a hurry is when it's mealtime. He loves to bark at squirrels, leaves falling off the trees, bugs, just anything that catches his attention. Matawan, NJ. Just look at this precious little Shih Tzu girl.'s sweet face She had an extremely traumatic experience that left one of her eyes hanging out of the socket by the muscle. It was horrendous, but the good news is........ After emergency surgery at an after-hours emergency vet clinic, she has recovered amazingly well and is now ready for adoption in NJ. She was so strong and such a little trooper through it all.. She is the absolute sweetest little angel, happy, extremely well behaved and house trained. You could not get a more wonderful addition to your family if you are wanting to adopt. She will need to be placed in an adult only home with possibly one small, docile dog. We do not want anything to happen to her remaining eye so we must be extra cautious in her placement/home environment. All potential adopters must fill out applications and be approved before meeting the pet they are interested in adopting. To adopt one of the precious lives that we have saved, this rescue requires an approved application, a suitable home environment, a signed adoption contract, and an adoption fee.   Bandit is a 2- to 3-year-old Shih Tzu mix with a great personality.  (Look at that face!)  Even though he weighs only about 10 pounds, his love of life is huge!  He’s a very dapper fella, too, with his long white and tan coat and his tail that curls over his back.  He’s especially proud of that tail and tries to show it off whenever possible.  Although we aren’t sure how he is around small children, Bandit gets along well with other dogs as well as his foster’s cat. DD and Sammie found themselves homeless and were forced to live outside. They're safe now in a foster home and they're ready for a permanent place to live. DD is a 7-yo Yorkie and weighs 11 pounds. Sammie is a 4yo Shih-Tzu and weighs 9 pounds. They are very attached to each other, and we will only place them together. They are absolute cuddle bugs and if you’re a couch potato, these could be the dogs for you. They are working on potty training and doing great but they do still have pee accidents in the house if they don’t have a chance to go out. They need a very consistent routine where they are taken out every 2 hours as they continue to be potty trained. They will occasionally use a pee pad inside. Continued house training will need to be a priority in their new home. They love toys and DD carries one in her mouth most of the time. They are yappy little dogs. DD loves everyone she meets even if she barks at them at first. Sammie really wants to be a baby and have a mama that will hold her and snuggle all the time. She’ll sit on your lap for hours while you work. She seems to bond with the woman in the family that cares for her. In order for a man or another person in the house to bond with her, they will need to put in a lot of work holding her, petting her and being patient. It takes a lot of time for her to be ok with other people that she is not bonded with, and she will bark at anyone she isn't bonded with every time she sees them. This requires patience. DD barks to say hello to everyone and Sammie barks to say stay away. They are good with cats and other dogs. They romp and play with each other and have a blast. A retired person or someone that is home a lot is the perfect fit for them. They are crate trained, spayed, heartworm negative and current on their vaccines. Sammie is afraid of fast movements so a home with children of any age is not ideal for her.

Romeo and Juliet were both street dogs, traveling everywhere together, looking for food and love. They were finally picked up by animal control in Georgia where they remained on a stray hold until they could be released. Animal control soon realized that Juliet was pregnant by Romeo so they called us to see if we could get them out of there before she gave birth. We had them immediately transported here to Tennessee and two weeks later she gave birth to 7 puppies. Sadly one was stillborn but the remaining 6 are all healthy happy babies who have all been adopted. Now it's Juliet's turn. She is crate trained, fully vaccinated, microchipped, spayed and heart worm negative. Juliet is very high energy but extremely lovable. She is excellent with my 3 year old granddaughter and as you can see in the photo, fine with cats. Wouldn't you love to give her a loving and forever home!
