MEET AMY!!
NORTH NEW JERSEY
Amy is an 8-ish yo 13 lb. female white and black Shih Tzu - Yorkie type mix that is a SUPER sweet little girl that LOVES being with her people. She is the perfect couch potato for someone that needs a snuggle buddy.
Her bloodwork is normal, she had a dental, was spayed, and had a large bladder stone removed. She is UTD, HW and Lyme negative, chipped, dewormed, and housebroken. We also did allergy testing since she was missing some hair and was itchy upon arrival. She has some food allergies so we switched her to a kibble that is working well for her. She also has some seasonal allergies that a cyto-point shot is handling well. She is no longer itching and her hair is growing back. Her new owner should expect to need to do cyto-point shots in the future as needed. Note, Apoquel did not work for her seasonal allergies.
She is also allergic to dog dander and given that she has no interest in other dogs, it would be ideal for her to be an only dog in her new home. If she has furry siblings they need to be non-shedding dogs with hair (thus no dander).
She was excellent at the vet and groomer and loves everyone she meets after she warms up. She is a little shy upon first meeting strangers. She enjoys short walks and a quiet home environment. No young children visiting or living in the home.

- Your Veterinary practice references including phone number (GIVE THEM PERMISSION TO SPEAK WITH US BEFORE SENDING THIS EMAIL)
We cannot accept phone calls and PLEASE give your vet office permission to speak with rescues if you are applying to adopt from any rescue. Ask them to mark your file. If they will not speak with me, I will move on to the next application and you will not be considered.
We consider out of area adoptions on a case-by-case basis. All meet & greets and adoptions are held in north New Jersey and we do not transport our pups. You must come to NJ. We also do not “hold” dogs. It is first qualified, first come and our expectation is you will move quickly to conduct the meet & greet if you are approved. An approved application does not guarantee adoption of any dog from our rescue.
