Meet Harley! This pint-sized 5 year old lady recently came to us from a local animal control. She is very quiet and calm in her crate but LOVES to go on walks and shower her people with kisses! Harley would is not a fan of kitties, and does well with dogs upon a slow introduction. The NAWS Dog Adoption Program operates as a rescue versus a shelter. We believe in matching the right dog with the appropriate family based on each specific dog and family’s needs. To achieve this, we believe in spending the appropriate amount of time with each family to allow for enough interaction time with potential adopters. This cannot be achieved if people stop by unexpectedly to meet our dogs. Meet Quincy! This handsome 2 year old came to us all the way from Tennessee! He keeps his crate very clean and gets along well with other dogs. He has a lot of energy and loves to play, but also calms down and just wants to snuggle. Quincy would make a great addition to any family! Meet Goblin 🖤 Goblin is a 9-month-old American Pit Bull Terrier (or mix) with the kind of sweet, soulful eyes that make everyone feel instantly loved. This handsome young guy is neutered, healthy, and fully up to date on vaccines—ready to head home with his forever family. Goblin loves people and soaks up attention wherever he goes. He’s a social butterfly who gets along great with other dogs and would absolutely thrive with a playful canine buddy. He’s also good with cats when introduced properly, and does well with kids, though older ones that he can around with may be best. True to his puppy status, Goblin is still learning—but he’s a quick study and eager to please. Offer him treats or affection and he’ll happily show off how smart he is. He loves a good game of tug, enjoys playtime, and then is more than happy to settle in for cuddles. When it’s time to relax, this boy turns into a total snugglebug. *REAR PARALYZED* Sweet Pea came to us from Arkansas where her family had surrendered her as a young puppy saying the mom dog stepped on her. Based on x-rays Sweet Pea has a spinal deformity that our vet believes was a genetic issue and not one due to trauma. She is rear paralyzed, but loves her cart! She does not know when she needs or is going potty. We do express her several times a day to keep her comfortable, clean, and dry. She does wear a diaper when she is not in her crate. She gets along with other dogs, cats, and kids. She absolutely loves all people and has never met a stranger. We did a DNA test on her and her main breed came back as American Pit Bull Terrier, although we were told the mom was some kind of shepherd mix. She is petite - only about 35 lbs and not super stocky. Sweet Pea was guessed to be born in April of 2022, so she is still young. She loves to play with the other dogs and has a good energy. Sweet Pea's adoption donation has been waived to a qualified home. She will come with her special crate, wheelchair, and harness. Application, reference checks, and home visit required.
