Diesel (deaf pittie) is now in a wonderful foster home with another dog who he gets along famously with, and cats! He is a very special boy. Now, please help us find his forever home!
Diesel, a deaf 3-year-old pittie with a heart of gold, needs a forever home. His world has been turned upside down after his owner, who had him since he was just 10 weeks old, suddenly passed away. Diesel was alone in an empty house, dealing with the trauma of losing the only family he's ever known. Every day, Diesel's late owner's daughter drove from Joliet to Alsip to check on him. However, she could take him home because her own dog is territorial. Diesel’s friendly nature and special needs made this an impossible situation. We're looking for an adoption home for him now that he is safe in a foster homes, we're looking for someone who works from home, can have him roam freely in the house (not crated), and is patient and willing to learn to communicate with signals. Diesel's previous owner, who sadly passed away, taught him to respond to hand signals and body gestures. He knows how to sit, lie down, and give paw – all with a wagging tail and a look of pure joy.

Diesel's Friendly Nature:Diesel grew up with another dog and a cat for about a year, so he’s well-socialized with other animals. He’s also good with kids, making him a wonderful family dog. Although, older children are he so he can adjust and cope given his deafness. He's is very friendly and loving, always ready to shower his humans with affection. While he does like to jump, this behavior is likely due to the lack of social activity he’s had since his previous owner passed away. With a bit of training and regular interaction, Diesel will quickly adapt to a new routine.
