Story
This cutie is Dixie, a 6 year old, 50 pound Pit Bull mix who is short in stature, and as sweet as pie with a little bit of spunk thrown in. Dixie loves giving kisses, really enjoys going for walks, playing with toys, and exploring and relaxing in the fenced in yard. Dixie warms up quickly to women and older children. When excited, she’ll get the zoomies and make the cutest noises. Dixie has been playful with most of the dogs in her foster home; she would be OK as the “one and only” dog in the home. She has good house manners and does not need to be crated when left alone.  Dixie came to our rescue after a neglectful owner kept her in the basement as a “breeding machine” for years. Despite that horrible existence, it did not affect her from being one of the sweetest little dogs. She will make a great addition to most households and is approved for households with children over the age of 10.  This dog has been examined by a licensed veterinarian, provided inoculations, been tested for disease, had a blood panel run (healthy), been dewormed, spayed, and microchipped. Story
Louie, Louie, Louie. We absolutely love this guy! He is big. He is fun. And, best of all, he is loyal. Louie, a very sweet American Bully mix, is about 2 years old, 75 pounds, and sports a cropped tail. Louie is a happy-go-lucky dog who craves human attention, love, and companionship. He very much wants to please his human. Louie would benefit from an adopter who will not only give him love and kindness, but also guidance and training to improve his overall use of basic commands. He is very treat and toy motivated which is a bonus.  Louie seems to like pretty much everyone and seems to settle easily into the home. He loves to run around and play in a fenced yard, so a secure yard is a must for him. Louie is very strong and will need some additional training on the leash due to pulling from excitement. This dog is best suited as an only dog. Louie is housebroken and crate trained and is approved for households with adults and children over the age of 12;  he could easily knock young children over due to his enthusiasm. Louie will make an amazing loyal companion to the right family.  This dog has been examined by licensed veterinarians, provided inoculations, tested for diseases, neutered, and microchipped. Story
Meet LEXIE, a 1.5 - 2 year old, 45 pound mixed bully breed pup with a heart as big as her ears! This bundle of joy is not just looking for a home; she's looking for a family to share her boundless energy, joy, and sweetness with. If you're searching for a loyal companion who will fill your days with joy and your heart with unconditional love, Lexie is ready to meet you and embark on your next adventure together!      Despite being deaf, Lexie has mastered the art of love and companionship, communicating her endless affection through expressive eyes and a wagging tail that never seems to tire. Lexie is exceptionally clever, having already learned basic commands through sign language, and she's eager to continue impressing her new family with her quick learning and playful spirit. When relaxing, Lexie enjoys chewing on a Nylabone or peanut butter Kong next to her person.     Lexie socializes very well with other dogs and loves to play with large dogs; she goes to play group once a week where her best friend is a deaf Pit Bull mix. Lexie would benefit from additional training and opportunity to go for jogs/runs. She definitely needs a fenced yard that she can run around in and play as well as going for walks. Lexie likes kids a lot and still acts puppyish - so she's approved for kids over 8 years old who she won't knock down due to her enthusiasm. She is crate trained, house trained and walks well on a leash.     This dog has been examined by licensed veterinarians, tested for diseases, provided inoculations, been dewormed, spayed, and microchipped. Story
Sally has become a healthy chunk of a pittie and enjoys car rides, cuddles on the couch and being with her Doberman besties. She is playful and goofy, showing a young age (Vets guessed 3 years old). Spayed, microchipped, vaccinated and heartworm treated - she is ready for adoption just in time for Fall. FOSTERED IN TEXAS. *Adoption Fee includes fee by van transport to PNW, Midwest or NY-NJ-CT-VA-VT states by pet transport partners. Email with Questions or for Adoption Application - Adopt@CaffeinatedCanineRescueTx.org Adoption Application LINK: https://forms.gle/33ciYyXPTL18FfnV6 --------------------------------------------------- See more Photos, Videos and Updates on Social Media Facebook.com/CaffeinatedCanineRescueTX Instagram @CaffeinatedCanineRescue --------------------------------------------------- Found alone on a dock during a thunderstorm. She was underweight and her ribs could easily be seen. She was heartworm positive and her belly showed evidence of having had puppies in her past. Dogs we find abandoned in Texas are not broken, mean or undeserving, just homeless. Humans have failed them. Sally trusts people and knows sit, shake and down. Sally takes her treats and meals gently with no guarding. She is playing enthusiastically with two large Dobermans who have taught her that being extra affectionate or ‘velcro’ is ok and expected at this house.

Story
Dog Name: Delilah Age: 5 months Gender: Female Breed: Pit Bull Terrier mix Weight: 25lbs Crate trained: Yes Potty trained: Yes with a schedule Dog friendly: Yes Cat friendly: Yes Kid friendly: Yes Vaccinated: Yes Spayed/Neutered: Yes Heartworm: Negative Microchipped: Yes Energy level: Medium. Would do best in a home that averages 2, 30 minute walks and some play daily. Other than that, she loves her naps! The best way to describe Delilah (also known as “Lilah” or “Deli meat” in her foster home) is one little walking cuddle puddle. She’s soft, both in her spirit and in her coat; she’s confident, but not wreckless; she’s incredibly trainable. Her ears are the size of satellites and I’d put money on her being able to hear what’s going on an entire galaxy away. The only interruption in the sound waves reaching her noggin might come from the plethora of snorts and grunts she makes doing seemingly anything. It’s beyond adorable. She ’s like a little piglet! As a tiny baby angel, Deli is currently in her “all or nothing” stage, where she’s either playing with her foster brother and toys or taking a FAT nap in your lap. She’s a perfect coworker to her foster mom when she works from home, and like a little shadow will follow her people everywhere. She’s a puppy, so Delilah likes to play and is still learning to navigate the world around her. You wouldn’t guess she was a puppy if you heard her sleeping though. She sounds like your old man in a recliner when he’s “just resting his eyes”. Delilah defines “personal space” as the space that you and her take up together. She loves to be right wherever you are. She hasn’t met a human, dog, or cat she hasn’t immediately wanted to befriend, and has even play bowed at a lamp post. Seriously. She’s working on her leash training and excelling, knows commands “sit” and “crate” well (she’s a smart cookie), and is currently working on “stay”, “down”, and “drop” cues. She’s amazing in the car, perfect in the bath, super cat and dog-friendly, doesn’t react to kids of any age that we’ve seen, doesn’t bark nor has shown any concerning destructive behaviors (other than sometimes collecting our shoes without damaging them), and is so eager to please. She’s house-trained as long as she sticks to a routine (which is standard for her age) and will not potty when crated nor overnight. She could work on basic puppy training skills like being mouthy during playtime and being left alone, along with anything specific to your routine or home. But overall, Delilah is a sweet bundle of joy that would be the perfect addition to any home environment. Anything that we’ve thrown at her she has exceeded all expectations. Delilah would thrive in a home with owners that could continue her basic training and give her a solid routine or structure as she’s still learning. She would likely do best with a family that spends more time at home than not given her needs for training, but also because she genuinely just loves being around her people. A medium energy dog, Delilah LOVES playing with her dog foster brother, playing tug of war, or chewing on a hard bone. But when nighttime comes around, you better love cuddles and have an empty lap to spare otherwise this is not the gal for you. Want to see videos of Delilah? Her foster mom has documented her journey on TikTok @lexlikesto for potential adopters to get to know her better! Story
Dog Name: Polly Age: 2 Gender: F Breed: pitbull/boxer Weight: 40lbs Crate trained: yes Potty trained: yes Dog friendly: yes Cat friendly: unknown Kid friendly: possibly- older Vaccinated: yes Spayed/Neutered: yes Heartworm: negative Microchipped: yes Energy level: medium/low Polly Pocket is cute on the outside but even better when you get her to open up. She has come miles from the terrified dog at CACC, though she still has her moments. Polly LOVES toys, especially squishy balls and small stuffed animals. She almost always has one in her mouth, or two, and has been known to somehow fit 3 in there. She easily entertains herself with them by throwing them around, pouncing on them, running around with them and teasing you to catch her. She can be a power chewer with some toys, while keeping others safe from harm. Her happiness is contagious as she rolls around, sploots, does crazy yoga poses, and is always wagging her tail with her toys. She is also very fast when she wants to be, and can zoom around the house or yard, with an almost deer like hop to her running. Sometimes when running up the stairs, she will stop halfway turn around, lay down on the stairs and wait for you - it’s adorable. In addition to toys, she loves belly rubs. She asks for them regularly, and sometimes jumps up to give hugs. 99% of the time she is a very happy playful dog. Polly generally sits without being asked, especially if a treat is involved, and also knows how to give paw. She is potty trained and non-destructive, and is left uncrated in a room with no issues. If I didn’t have 3 other dogs, I would have no concern leaving her out to roam the whole house. She is curious and might follow you around, but is not needy, so you can easily work on a computer or watch tv or do whatever, as she will go off and play by herself once she has done her investigating and realizes she isn’t interested in what you are doing. I’ve only heard her bark twice (randomly at nothing), and she only whines when she needs to go outside or for a second sometimes when you put her in her room. She will even voluntarily go outside in the rain and show! While she is generally unphased by noises (tv, dishes clanking, power drill, dogs barking, lawnmower, my generator, vacuum, etc), she gets very nervous when she hears the garbage truck. I know this will get better over time, as she was initially the same way with the snow plow, but is now fine with this too. She can take a bit to trust people and is a bit afraid of people when they meet, specifically when it comes to being close to her neck. A stranger putting on collars or leashes is a trigger for her. Poor girl thinks everyone wants to grab her and hurt her :( Having a secure, fenced yard (size isn’t super important) would be ideal for her as walks will be a bit overwhelming. She has met several people, male and female adults, and has warmed up to them, usually under 5 minutes. Polly Pocket is cute, playful, and a very sweet girl. When she trusts you, she loves you. You are her person and she knows the world is safe. She warmed up to me in about a day, and continued to be even more awesome as the weeks went on. She definitely had a very traumatic past, but I have seen huge strides in her every single day that I’ve had her. I have no doubt that she will continue to open up and be an excellent dog for whomever is lucky enough to earn her trust. She has not met any children to my knowledge, but probably would be okay around older children that won’t be grabby with her. She would be fine with another dog, but I think she would also enjoy being an only dog and being spoiled with all the toys and love her heart desires. Being left alone while at work is not a concern, nor is coming and going to run errands - she just stays on her bed until you go into her room to get her. Her ideal adopter would be someone that has some patience, wants to spoil her with toys and treats, and doesn’t have a super active social life (constant new people coming over and always wanting to take her outside on walks and to new places). If you’re interested in meeting Polly, please fill out an application at the link below. https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/DHDN/Dog
