Story
Nasa's story is one of resilience and hope. Rescued from a high-kill shelter in Georgia, this 4-5 year old bundle of energy has been given a second chance at life and is now safely in boarding in Illinois.
Despite the challenging start he faced, Nasa has an endless supply of love to give. His tail happily thumps away whenever he's around his human friends, and he absolutely lives for car rides and tasty treats. Nasa may be a bit rough around the edges at the moment, but that's all about to change.
Nasa will receive professional training to polish up his manners and social skills. With patience and positive reinforcement, he'll learn that barking (probably because he was crated so much) and pulling on the leash won't get him what he wants. Instead, he'll discover that good behavior opens up a whole world of fun activities and adventures.
Though Nasa definitely prefers keeping felines at a distance, he's working hard on learning to get along with other dogs too. We have complete faith that with the right guidance, this ball of canine energy will become a more balanced, confident pup. We also recommend that he is in a home without small children.
Nasa's journey hasn't been an easy one, but his future is looking bright. Thanks to the loving humans dedicated to giving him a life worth living, this pup's tale will have a happily-ever-after ending. With time, training, and plenty of belly rubs, Nasa's true colors will shine!
He was crated a lot in the past 11 months. Given that he lived such a confined life, we have boarded Nasa with a great trainer who is helping him learn to enjoy life again. Nasa is enjoying plennty of sunshine, playing and running around in the great outdoors, andn just learning to enjoy his life again. We'd liek to keep him in this great environment for at least 1 month. He will be available for adoption once he descompresses and is a happy boy again. An ideal home for Nasa is with an adult who has experience with strong breeds. Nasa needs to be an only dog in the home, even though he gets along with other dogs.
Nasa will have gone through a basic training program prior to adoption! In this program he will have learned proper heeling on a leash, basic obedience, place command, off leash recall, no bolting out of doors, people and dog socialization, kennel/potty training and more! After adoption process is finalized, the new owners will work with the trainer 1 on 1 to learn what Nasa has learned in the program and how to keep up with training after going home. This will all be included in your adoption fee!
