Story
Mittens is an approximately 1 year old male Pitbull mix. He was brought in as a stray at just 17.4 lbs and absolutely skeletal. Mittens is now feeling MUCH better and weighs 28 lbs and is now looking for his forever home. Mittens has been around some dogs, he does get overstimulated at times and can be very rough with his playing with other dogs. He can be a little snappy about taking treats and for this and a few other reasons we recommend him being placed with a family with older or no children. His adoption fee is $60 and includes his neuter, microchip, negative heartworm test and vaccinations. Please call 630-553-9256 or email animalcontrol@kendallcountyil.gov to start the adoption process.

Story
Apollo is a 2 year old male Pitbull mix who was brought to us as the owner no longer had time for him and had small children in the home who were scared of his energy levels. He is an active boy and would do best in a home with older children, and no small animals like cats or bunnies. He has gotten along with some dogs and doesn't like others. His adoption fee is $60 and includes his neuter, microchip, vaccinations and negative heartworm test.

Story
Meet Bubba. Bubba has a bit of a sad story. He is a Pitbull(?) maybe Hound mix who has lived with his owner for his whole life. He is 8 years old. Recently, his owner became ill and was hospitalized. He was released from the hospital and came back for Bubba, as he was his everything. His owner was again later hospitalized and unfortunately this time, his owner passed away.. and so Bubba is now here. He is looking for his very own forever home to help him through his loss and love him like his last owner did. Bubba is a pretty healthy boy, but does have a rectal mass that does not bother him at this time. Eventually this may be an issue but for now it is not. He is house trained and does not make a mess of his kennel. He lived with another female dog in the home previously and seems to do ok with others here. His adoption fee is $120 and he is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated and heartworm negative.

Story
Meet Draco! Draco is a sweet boy who was surrendered due to his owner moving into an apartment. He is a good dog, energetic and loves to hang out in the yard and enjoy the sunshine! Draco is 3 years old. He has lived with other dogs, cats and kids. Would do better in a home without cats/small animals (per previous owner). He does know some basic commands and is housetrained. Would do better with female dogs (reportedly) but doesn't seem to have an issue with any other dogs here so far. Draco was diagnosed as a pup with a grade 2-3 heart murmur. We have not done any follow up diagnostics but he is heartworm negative. Draco has no cardiac symptoms at all and should not need medications or additional follow up care to our knowledge. Draco's adoption fee is $120 and includes his neuter, microchip, vaccinations and negative heartworm test. Please call 630-553-9256 or email animalcontrol@kendallcountyil.gov for more information or if you are interested in adopting.

Story
Meet Deuce! Deuce came to us after he was abandoned by his owners. Unfortunately we don't know his exact age, but we are guessing he is somewhere around 2 years old. He lived with children and other dogs in his previous home, and is reportedly housetrained. He is very frightened at the shelter and his favorite thing is to hang out in the office with us as the kennels and noise are all scary to him. He is a big sweetheart that needs some basic training/manners work and he will make someone a great dog! Look at those beautiful markings and eye color!!! Deuce's adoption fee is $120 and includes his neuter, microchip, vaccinations and negative heartworm test. Please call 630-553-9256 or email animalcontrol@kendallcountyil.gov for more information.

Story
Hi there, my name is Vanessa and I'm about 10 months old. I'm a really pretty young gal. If you have seen my pictures my coat is a reversed brindle. My Rescuers are guessing at my breed because sadly when I was found as a stray, I had no history about me. So, if you had to guess my breeding I'm a Cattle dog maybe mixed with Pitbull. What does that mean? I'm your All-American Mutt but I'm a smart All-American Mutt. As I mentioned I was found as a stray. I didn't know where my home was, so the AC Handlers brought me to a TN shelter. From there, I went on a van that they call the Freedom Ride. It's where a bunch of doggies and kitties drive for like forever up North. I saw my foster Mom when she opened the van, and I wasn't scared. I knew right then I my future is going to be much better than what I had in TN. I'm in a foster home that has other foster dogs that are close to my age or size, and we play all day long. We sleep in our own crates and I'm a good girl and don't make a mess. I will give out a yip or a bark when I need to go potty. I love getting my food in my crate and I look for more when the other dogs are done. Who would have thought being a foster doggie I would be so pampered. Speaking of being pampered, my foster Mom took me to the doggie vet and I woo-ed everyone. They thought I had a really pretty coat and they thought I was silly when I gave them kisses or did tricks for my treats. I know SIT and give PAW. My best command is "Vanessa, be pretty". Gees, that's a no brainer. I had to take a test that my doggie vet did for me and sadly the test results said I'm heartworm positive. My foster Mom said, "it's not our first time" and she made sure I went to all my doggie doctor visits for shots. I'm now all done with my heart worm treatment and the next part is for me to just chill. Sure, I'm a puppy and I get my occasional zoomies but I'm a chill gal. I like to lounge around on the couch or by your feet. I get to play with all the doggies here and there's cats too. I ignore the cats. I watch the other dogs get into their food or litterbox but not me - I rather play with dogs or my own toys. I love playing with a ball or a stuffed animal. I don't think I had any of those great toys when I lived in TN. I've been around kids and oh boy, do I like them. One day I am going to have a forever family of my own. While I wait for my family I will play with the other dogs and learn new things. I'm sure I'm going to get cuter. I weigh 42# now so I might grow up to be a medium-large size girl. Some might call that stocky. When I meet my forever family we can go for a walk, and I will show how well I listen and walk on a leash. Maybe when you bring me to your house, I will have my own doggie bed, or I can curl up on your lap when you watch TV. I will always be your loyal pup because you chose me and I promise to make you laugh. Can't wait to meet you! Vanessa Vanessa's heartworm: She completed the heart worm protocol of injections & medication. Now, she just needs to be on low activity for 3-6 months. Easy for this girl because she's not very active unless of course you give her belly rubs! Please do not stop Vanessa's heartworm prognosis stop you from adopting this amazing Beauty. Vanessa is located in our foster home in Aurora. To meet this Beauty, please complete an adoption application at: https://treasuredanimalrescueinc.org/application-dog-adoption/ Sorry, Treasured Animal Rescue does not adopt out of the State of Illinois Thank you for choosing to adopt!
