A portion of Coco's adoption fee has been sponsored by her friends at The Murray Fund. The adoption fee sponsorship credit of $325.00 will be applied during the contract process Hi, my name is Coco! From the Foster: A typical day with Coco, I am home with Coco all day, with the exception of appointments, errands, etc. After nearly 2 years in our home, Coco has settled in and become a delightful companion dog. She gets along well with, and seems to take cues from, my black lab with a calm temperament. I have modified living arrangements such that the cats are kept separate from her- she seems to have high prey drive and due to limited vision perhaps cant really tell them apart from a squirrel. I had hoped after this long hearing and smelling them, and occasionally seeing them through the gate, she would have become accustomed to them, but alas she is just not a kitty dog. I keep Coco's medication pretty consistent, aiming for 12 hours apart. Coco and Lucy (my resident dog) both sleep on my bed all night. They don't get up until I do, and are great about going right outside and then in to eat and Coco has her oral meds, eye meds, and insulin. She is a champ taking her meds, doesn't resist at all. Throughout the day, Coco and Lucy go between my office and bedroom, taking long naps (they are 9 after all). Coco loves to race outside into the fenced yard with Lucy and search for real or imagined critters. The only thing that deters her is rain! A strange sound or presence will get her raising the alarm, but she settles down quickly and back to her sniffing and taking long luxurious naps in the sun. She may alarm due to her limited vision, but no significant limitations. Coco loves to be where I am, and would rather tag along in the car than be left behind, but thanks to occasional medication and my very mellow black lab, she is feeling more secure and safe as time goes on. She does fine out of the crate in the house, does not chew on unacceptable items, and can wait several hours to go outside. She has never had an accident indoors. Coco loves a long walk, especially a leisurely sniffari. Due to a lot of training, she is not nearly as concerned about other dogs out on walks as she used to be. I try not to get too close for comfort for her, and help her feel safe and confident. SHH can set an adopter up with ongoing training, too. She is pretty stressed, though, if she cant get out of perceived threat area, so instead of dog parks or busy recreation areas, we stick with the familiar neighborhood and a quiet regional nature park. Evenings are super-relaxed. Right after eating their dinner, both pups settle in for reading, watching a movie, or going to bed early. Coco loves to lay on the couch next to a warm body. She isn't a lap dog, not a hugger, but does love to snuggle. Through the course of my veterinary care at The Bond Between it was found that I have diabetes mellitus, hypothyroidism, and mature cataracts. Luckily, my foster and the doctors at The Bond Between and BluePearl took great care of me, and I am now ready to find my forever home! I had surgery for my cataracts, and I can see much better now. Future adopters should know that due to my multiple endocrine diseases, I will need to continue to work with a primary veterinarian, as well as an internal medicine specialist (I am currently under the care of Dr. Mazepa at BluePearl.) To manage my diabetes, my adopter will need to administer insulin everyday, as well as monitor my glucose levels with the guidance of a veterinarian. I am also on medication for my hypothyroidism. It is recommended that discuss with my future vet clinic about recommended follows ups and labwork (CBC, chemistry, UA, Fructosamine and T4).

Story
Hi! My name is Bill and I am from Minnesota. From the foster: Are you a Ted looking for a Bill with whom to have a most excellent adventure?! Party on, dude! Have we got the Bill for you. Bill is a young guy who's ready for all kinds of action. Looking for a hiking partner? Take Bill! Need to do some yard work? Bill will aerate your lawn with daily zoomies! Watching Netflix after a long day? Bill will be your snuggly couch buddy! Unlike his movie counterparts, Bill's not about to flunk out of any classes; he's extremely food motivated and easy to train, and he takes treats gently. He's housebroken and will quickly figure out the bathroom routine at your house (for a treat). He'll give back those socks you left on the floor (for a treat). He'll sit, and lay down, and shake paws (for a treat). With Bill, treats are currency -- and if you run out of treats, affection will do in a pinch. He's a friendly pup who craves all the love and attention you have to spare. And with a noggin like his, Bill's got plenty of real estate for maximum head pats, which he will gladly accept from anyone. The most important rule of an excellent adventure is to be excellent to each other - and when he's set up for success with plenty of space and structure, Bill will be a wonderful addition to your family. He can live in a multi-dog household that is committed to facilitating slow introductions at his pace and willing to give him lots of decompression time and gentle supervision while he perfects his impulse control. Bill's future canine sibling(s) should be easy-going and well-adjusted. He plays rough and rowdy (maybe he was a pro wrestler in a past life) and any other dogs in the household should be able to match that energy, or at least tolerate it. The introduction to his foster's resident dog took several weeks, but now the two rough house together and enjoy tandem walks, and Bill is fully integrated into his foster's lives. Bill doesn't require another canine companion, to be clear - he'd also be a great only pet! (For sure no cats. His fosters have tested that one out for you already.) When it comes to human roommates, older kids only for Bill...he can be a little jumpy and might knock a very small child down in his excitement. Originally picked up by Animal Control as a stray, Bill's life may not always have been an excellent adventure, and he has a few scars on his face to prove it. To overcome the adversity of his unknown history, Bill asks for patience and understanding from his new family. He is skittish about very loud noises and needs a safe, quiet place to retreat when he feels uncomfortable. He must be allowed to eat his meals separate from any other resident dogs. For a medium-sized guy, he pulls surprisingly hard on walks and will benefit from consistent and dedicated leash training. He is very alert to other dogs he sees in the neighborhood but has been receptive to desensitization methods (namely, he's showered with treats when he sees other dogs). Despite a few quirks, Bill has plenty of other tubular traits: he's fully crate trained and non-destructive when given free reign of his foster's first floor while they're at work - although he is still a puppy and has been known to target the usual, tempting suspects in his foster's house (socks, underwear, phone charging chords, etc.). If he grabs something he shouldn't have, he'll readily give it up in exchange for a treat or a toy. He does not display any separation anxiety when left alone during the day. He's active but will also spend hours snoozing on a dog bed. He plays with toys to keep himself entertained. He rides wonderfully in the car. He's eager to please and adorably goofy. Sometimes he barks (especially when he hears the neighborhood dogs), but most often he'll cough or snort or sneeze at unexpected sounds. He'll be absolutely pumped to see you every day when you walk through the door. Bill's just a good dude who's adored by his fosters and has all the most stellar years ahead of him. For Bill, the best place to be is your home, and the best time to be with you is now.

Hi, everyone! My name is Chilli! My foster mom says I am practically *perfect* in every way. I am snuggly, playful, affectionate, gorgeous, house trained, and crate trained! I currently live in an apartment and do well with shared walls! I am a strong girl so need someone who handle me during walks. See?! I told you - practically PERFECT! Which leads me to the word "practically" - I do have one small issue. I take time to trust doggy friends. What does this mean? With slow, proper intros (think 1+ week of baby gates, smells, crate and rotate) I become besties with other dogs. I am SUPER appropriate with other dogs, good at reading their signals, and love to play. But until I trust my fellow pups, I am a "freak on a leash" they say... which means no dog parks, no breweries, no doggy playdates for me! So, do I sound like the perfect pooch for you?! I hope so! I can't wait to find my family!

Hi my name is Sir Wigglebottom. I am from a local shelter. From his foster family: We call him Wiggles, Wiggy, or just Puppy. He is the sweetest guy around. He loves other dogs and is very curious about cats. He can be a little rambunctious, but settles down easily and would prefer to be on your lap when doing so. He does not really know what personal space means, but we love every second of it. He is crate trained and potty trained! Although he doesn't have an obvious way of letting you know he has to go outside. Most of the time he will just go halfway to the door and just stare at me so if you aren't paying attention you might miss it. We have not had him in his crate for a few weeks now. He does fine left out for most of the day and loves to snuggle in bed at night. He is still very much a puppy as far as playing rough and can be a little mouthy. We have been working on this, but he still has some growing up to do. He does get startled easily. Loud noises and things like boxes and plastic bags tend to make him a little fearful. He will need some help to build up his confidence, but has already come a long way since we first brought him home. He will definitely keep you entertained and make a wonderful addition to your family. From The Bond Between Vet Center: My name is Sir Wigglebottom. I came into rescue with a skin condition called demodex mange. It's caused by a small parasitic mite. It's been a long road to recovery, but I've recovered amazingly and will be neutered 2/13 and will be ready for my furever home after that! Can't wait to meet you!

Story
I am Bourbon. I am from Kentucky. From his foster: Introducing Bourbon, a lovable 2-year-old ready to steal your heart! This handsome pup thrives when surrounded by his beloved humans and is guaranteed to shower you with affection every chance he gets. With his friendly disposition, Bourbon eagerly welcomes new friends of all ages, including adults and children alike. Bourbon is not just all charm - he's also a smart cookie! He's already mastered the art of housebreaking and crate training, making him an ideal roommate. Speaking of crates, Bourbon snoozes like a champ in his crate at night, ensuring a peaceful slumber for everyone in the household. Plus, he's a pro on the leash and is quickly learning basic commands, showing off his eagerness to please. He responds extremely well to positive reinforcement and is very motivated by food. However, like any pup, Bourbon has his quirks. He's not a fan of being left alone and may express his displeasure with some initial barking. When left solo, he's been known to test his Houdini skills on his crate, so a sturdy and secure crate or designated safe area is a must. Bourbon finds solace in the company of another dog, so having another pup could greatly alleviate his anxiety when left home alone. Bourbon is still refining some of his manners, particularly when it comes to containing his excitement and keeping all 4 paws on the ground. His enthusiasm may lead to accidentally knocking over young children, which is why a household with older children or adults might be a better fit. Structured exercise, like daily walks, helps Bourbon channel his energy in a positive direction and keeps his exuberance in check. If you're searching for a loyal companion who's equal parts cuddle buddy and adventure enthusiast, look no further than Bourbon. With a heart as big as his personality, he's ready to fill your home with love, laughter, and plenty of tail wags.

Hi! My name is Sterling and I am from Minnesota. Hello! My name is Sterling. I am five years old and looking for my forever home! Sterling couldn't be more perfect! He is very smart and well behaved. He knows all of the basics (sit, down, wait, drop it) and is crate and potty trained. He is low to moderate energy. Enjoys playing with our other dogs and running in the yard but mostly you'll find him on his dog bed in front of the fire. Occasionally he'll hop up on the couch to enjoy some cuddles and closeness to his people. He is great with all dogs and people. Might not be best around toddlers as he sometimes doesn't know his own strength, especially with his big head. He's been known to bump it into a wall or corner. He really is a sweet smart boy. From our vet center: My name is Sterling, I'm a local Minneapolis pup with some orthopedic medical needs so our friends at MACC reached out to The Bond Between for help. When I was seen at both the MACC vet and TBB Vet Center I was diagnosed with grade 3 on the left and grade 2 on the right MPL's (medical luxating patella) and a full rupture of my CCL (cranial cruciate ligament - which is similar to ACL's in humans) on the left and a partial tear on the right causing an abnormal gait and some lameness; possibly pain however my foster mom says I'm still such a sweet dog despite that. The Bond Between is able to work with an orthopedic surgeon to help me get the surgery I need, but I will be on the lookout for a special adopter to usher me through this recovery period. I am scheduled for my first surgery on the left side on March 28th. 12 weeks of recovery with strict rest and activity restriction. Recheck x-rays will follow each of the surgeries I need to make sure I am healing. Surgery and any medications or rechecks associated with these orthopedic surgeries will be covered by TBB, any other medical care will be the responsibility of my furever family! I can't wait to meet you and settle in! 6 months from now I will be the happiest, sweetest boy around!

Meet Champ, a striking 75-pound blend of Doberman Pinscher and Staffordshire Terrier, with a heart as big as his physique. This charming gentleman is on the lookout for a special lady to call his own. Champ takes his fitness seriously and loves to stay active. His long legs make him a fantastic runner, especially when he's bounding through winter snow on exhilarating trail runs. He's even a pro at solo fetch, enthusiastically tossing a toy and retrieving it with zest. Champ's game for a flirtatious tug of war, making him an excellent muscle-building partner. After a good workout, Champ indulges in some self-care by tending to his dental hygiene with chew toys by the fireside or a well-deserved Kong filled with peanut butter and a tasty milkbone. He may take a bit of time to warm up to new people, but once he's comfortable, his affection knows no bounds. Champ absolutely adores bedtime snuggles, relishing the role of the big spoon to keep you warm on those chilly nights. Champ would thrive in a home without shared walls, as he takes his job as your protector seriously and will alert you to any passerby with his enthusiastic barks. While he's great with other dogs, Champ isn't a fan of cats or small creatures. Due to his exuberance, he's best suited for a household with older children, preferably in middle school or above. When it comes to adults, Champ is looking for a home where he can be the center of attention among adult women. He's had some tough experiences in the past, likely with male figures, and prefers to avoid competition for affection. This wonderful boy would also benefit from a family with prior experience with bully breeds and confident, strong leadership. Champ isn't just brawn and good looks; he's also quite the smarty. He's already mastered commands like "sit," "shake," and "drop" during his time in foster care, and he's eager to learn more from his special lady. With impeccable manners, he's a joy to take out on the town, strutting his stuff with the leash in your capable hands. Champ is a sweet and playful companion seeking the perfect lady to be his exercise partner, snuggle buddy, and evening date. If you think you might be the one he's been waiting for, please send an application to his foster, and they'll arrange that first unforgettable date. ##1329389##

Story
Greetings, dear friends! I'm Groot, and in the loving embrace of my foster family, they've dubbed me "the best boy." At 55 lbs, I'm a delightful blend of love and dashing good looks, wrapped up in a pit bull package. With me, you'll find the perfect balance of energy, playfulness, and the occasional lazy day as a couch potato. Currently, I reside with my foster parents, a human foster sibling, and a canine foster sister whom I adore with all my heart. While I've found a soulmate in my foster sister, it's worth mentioning that there have been a few other dogs I've met who didn't quite earn my seal of approval. But fear not, I don't require the title of "only dog" because I absolutely relish playing tug of war with my foster sister. All I need are slow introductions to ensure everyone feels comfortable, and I'm confident we can form lasting friendships that would make our tails wag with joy. I've developed a fondness for leisurely walks with my foster family and have been diligently refining my leash manners. Nowadays, the only time they're not stellar is when something fascinating catches my eye, beckoning me to explore. This summer, I had a revelation when I discovered the wonders of a hose. Let me tell you, it's one of the most captivating things ever – chasing that elusive stream of water is a sheer delight! In my time with my foster family, I've acquired some impressive skills. I've learned how to sit, stay, and even shake paws. Admittedly, I don't fully comprehend the reasoning behind these commands, but I've come to realize that they result in the most delectable treats, so I don't question them too much. After an exhilarating play session, I find immense joy in lounging around, chewing on toys, sticks (though sticks are strictly an outdoor affair, as per my foster mom), or bones while basking in the warm embrace of the sun. My foster family likes to tease me, claiming that I occasionally fall asleep and snore during these peaceful moments, but I choose not to believe them; that would be rather embarrassing! Now, my foster dad mentioned something about watering the garden, and I'm quite certain he could use my assistance with that hose. If you'd like to know more about me, please don't hesitate to submit an application. I'm eager to meet you, share my love, and embark on this heartwarming journey together. ##1749538##

Meet Momma Paloma. She is a beautiful gray and white pit bull that has been doing an amazing job raising her puppies. Paloma is house trained and very low energy. She is happy to lay around on the couch with her humans. She hasn’t met any cats yet. She has met some other dogs and does fine with the one other larger dog in house but doesn’t like the small dogs around.  Paloma walks very well on a leash and loves to sit in the front yard and people watch. It takes her a few minutes to warm up to new people but that might be different when she’s not around her babies. If you are in search of pure love to complete your family this girl will not disappoint you! Paloma will be available once she is all done raising her babies in early June. She is really looking forward to being off the hook for all these hungry mouths! ##1993643##

My name is Sloppy Joe and I have been in my foster home for awhile now. I'm still waiting for my forever home to find me. I sploot, I waddle, I snuggle, I snore; what more could you need?  My foster named me Sloppy Joe because I was SO stressed and drooly at the pound. I'm not stressed or very drooly anymore now that I'm out of that scary place. My foster mom says I'm a dopey dude with not a lot going on in my head, but there's a lot of love going on in my big heart! My ideal date would include snacks and a movie, while we hold hands and you pet me of course! I'll probably fall asleep before the movie ends. On sunny days I LOVE a nice bone to chew on the deck, grass, or just by your side. My ideal canine companion is one who likes to hang out like I do! I'm pretty lazy and not much of a player or wrestler, but I coexist well, so a fellow couch potato sounds awesome! I'm also perfectly happy to be an only dog. I live with three dogs in my foster home and my favorite is the 5 lb senior chihuahua.  My biggest fear is that my forever mom or dad might not find me. Where are you? My foster family is cool, but I'm ready for a home of my very own.  My favorite outing is a car ride to the local brewery! I'm a fabulous brewery dog. I try to greet all the humans, I don't mind the noise or other dogs, and I don't try to steal anyone's food if there's a food truck. My favorite thing is holding hands with my humans while they pet me. My favorite food is cheese or a little piece of steak! Some other tidbits about me: Cross country runner or couch potato? Couch potato 100%! Kennel trained?  YUP! House trained?  YUP! Good with cats?  YUP! Good in car?  YUP! Good with kids? I don't live with any but have liked the ones I met at breweries! ##1769593##

Story
From Foster: Hello, my name is Lady, and I've had that name ever since my humans made me a part of their family when I was little. For years I lived with human kids and my younger dog sister who looks almost exactly like me. Recently my dog sister and I met another human family - actually, a big group of humans acting like family - when my original human family had some trouble and needed my dog sis and me to stay with someone else for a while. We met our new human family and their two dog siblings - we immediately starting having fun together. Things changed, my dog sister went back with our original family. I'm OK though - I have my new family and new dog friends. We stay in the house during the day; the humans think we sleep all day but I assure you we do fun things together! in the afternoons and evenings we play in the yard, go for walks, and snuggle up on the couch. I don't bark or jump on people, and I walk really well on the leash (I just need to stop and sniff things a lot). I can be home all day without having to be let out (remember, the humans think I'm sleeping all day). I love my toys, especially the plushy ones and chewing on nylabones - I often have a toy in my mouth. I would love to be part of your family - adult humans, small humans, other dog friends, maybe even cats. Meet me and let me show you how special I am!
