Story
Hi there! I’m Smores, a lovable and adorable pittie born around November 2020. I’m a happy-go-lucky girl who’s always ready for all the loves to give. I’m perfectly fine chilling in my kennel. Stressful situations are my downfall, I get overwhelmed. I won’t do well at dog parks, breweries, or really anything with lots of people or dogs. When put in this situation I can get growly and nippy. I’m truly a dog that would be A-OK staying home and chilling on the couch. When I see you and I’m in my kennel, I might get so excited that I run in circles, eagerly waiting to shower you with kisses when the door opens! I’m house-trained and potty-trained, and I pick up new tricks quickly—beyond the basics like sit and shake. I get along well with other dogs and kids, though I might be a bit enthusiastic and could accidentally knock over smaller animals or younger kids. I haven’t met any cats yet, so I’m not sure how I’d react to them. If you’re looking for an affectionate sidekick, I might just be the perfect match for you! Let’s start our adventure together! We’ve got some exciting news about this pup’s age! Thanks to DNA testing from Embark, we’ve got a fresh take on how old they really are. A big shoutout to Embark for generously donating these tests for us to explore! You might spot a difference between Embark's findings and our original guess—after all, no test or person is 100% accurate. It’s all part of the adventure! Story
Hello! The rescue named me Felicity but my foster mom and sister call me Josie. It suits me so well! They think I am the sweetest girl ever. I am completely housetrained and rarely bark unless I need to protect them from something scary outside! I always like to be right by my people and love their hugs and pets! We take lots of walks which are really fun and they tell me I am really good at it. I am about two years old and came from Mexico with a litter of puppies who all got adopted. Now I need my home and someone to teach me how to play. Will you please bring me home and teach me how to play? I will love you forever, I promise! Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Story
Hello future family! My name is Leonardo, but my foster mum calls me Leo!   I am a ball of energy ready to play and explore this crazy world! Born on just 3/31/24, I am making a good impression on everyone I meet (at least that's what my foster mum tells me!) My journey began down in Arkansas with a couple of my siblings. I moved up here to MN to start my new life! So far, it has been awesome! I get to play with the resident Pup who I call my "big Brother" because we look so alike and act alike!  He's teaching me everything I need to know to be a really good boy! Foster mum keeps saying how I am so much like him and that makes me happy, because she really loves her pup, so I want to be just like him so I can have a family someday who loves me as much as the foster mum loves her pup and me!   Since I have a resident pup to show me everything I need to know on how to be a good boy, I am catching on quickly and I am such a good listener and learner! I know basic commands like sit, stay, gentle, come.  I do well on the leash and love to go for walks! I love playing outside and sunbathing with the resident pup. I even realized at 10 weeks old that I LOVE to swim in the lake and get my toes wet!   Things I am good at and things I am working on: I am working on potty training currently, each day I am starting to understand the concept more and more! I look for the puppy pads when I am inside and will also start to ring the bell on the door to let foster mum know I have to go out if I am not distracted. I pick up on skills fairly quickly. I don't mind being in my kennel but would rather be out with everyone else playing. I am okay in my kennel for 6-8 hours (typically one time a week). Foster mum works from home so I don’t have to go in the kennel that much, which I LOVE! I am good at entertaining myself with bones, yak chews and toys and can be content laying on the floor, bed or couch chewing on a good bone! I am really good at snuggling in bed with my foster mum and pup and on the couch when I am really tired! I sleep the whole night snuggled next to my foster mum or pup and don’t wake up until she tells me it’s time to. I love car rides too! I have done well on a leash outside and off a leash and stay near my foster mum and pup and listen well.   Overall, I am a good boy. Foster mum keeps saying and says it will be hard to give me up since I have been so good and love her and the pup so much! But, If I can find a family who will love me as much as they do, I will be one happy lil pup! Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. He has the funniest little personality and is such a sweet cuddly little boy! He bonds fast and hard to his people and loves to be near them.  He has had a few accidents inside but there are signs that he shows when he needs to go out now, like standing by the door or whining. He’s doing great at kennel training and is fine in the kennel as long as it’s covered with a blanket.   He hasn’t been introduced to cats but is great with every dog he’s met, big and small! He just wants to play! While on walks he’s met kids and done well with them as his puppy energy tends to match their enthusiasm! He’s good on the leash and loves going on walks! He’s not super vocal. He will bark if he sees another dog or if he hears a noise but I would say he’s a fairly quiet pup.    * Puppies under 5 months should not be left alone for more than 4 hours at a time to help them with potty training and socialization.   If you have previously applied with us please email adoptionatmars@gmail.com to reactivate your application with new interest.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  or    *The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility and does not come with a pedigree. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.   Martha came to Redemption Road Rescue from a pound in TX where she was set to be euthanized due to over crowding and her sarcoptic mange. A volunteer drove down to get her to foster and she is now healthy and has a beautiful brindle coat.  Martha is a great companion and will bond tightly with her forever family. She currently has small senior dog foster siblings and would benefit from another dog who is willing and able to play with her. She is an active girl and likes walks and playing to keep busy and burn off energy. She has not been cat tested. She has played well with kids age 12+, and is very rambunctious.   Martha is doing great with potty training and lets you know when she needs to go outside. She is crate trained for when her fosters are out of the house, but sleeps in bed with them at night. She LOVES walks to burn off that energy, so she can have some couch potato time too!   Martha is a smart girl who needs a knowledgable andpatient home to help her in her transition from TX street dog to spoiled member of her forever family. Be sure to check out the photo in her bio that shows her Embark breed analysis!! You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.   Vinny is about 12 months and only 35 lbs. He is a sweet boy that loves everyone, kids included. Vinny has done great with some dogs at his temporary foster home,  but he would do best as an only dog or with a submissive female. No cats either just to be on the safe side. Vinny was rescued from a rural pound in Ohio, just in the nick of time. He now needs a forever home so he can start to really live! Vinny is sweet, fun, and funny. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Fiona found herself unwanted in a high kill shelter in West Texas. She is good with dogs and kids, cats are a toy to chase and eat, so no cats for this gal.   All dogs and puppies require supervision and training.   This smiley girl is Fiona. She is such a joy to foster and would make the perfect addition to any family. Fiona’s three favorite things are people, couches and cars. She loves all people, and is patient with kids. She shows her love by covering you with slobbery kisses. Showing off toys to her people and playing tug-o-war with them is fun. She does resource guard toys and treats from other dogs, so when playing together they need to be removed and the interactions need to be watched. While she is fine with other dogs, including at her foster home and she played well with other dogs while in boarding, being the only dog in the house would be the most ideal situation. No cats please. Fiona thinks couches are the best place to snuggle with her people, and sleep away the day. She will patiently wait for you to join her on the couch, and will stare you down with her adorable face as a way to communicate it is time to sit down. A bonus is she is not interested in human food and will not try to share snacks with you while on the couch. Wish my resident dogs would take note that this is appropriate behavior! She also loves a car ride. While she does well on walks she will approach any parked car and would happily jump in. A previous foster drove for Uber and Fiona accompanied them for a ride checking off her daily to do list of a car ride and interacting with as many people as possible. During the day she is left unsupervised while I work in a different part of the home. She does not get into anything she is not supposed to, and spends a great deal of time sleeping. She is house broken and kennel trained. If you are interested in learning more about Fiona please put in your application on our website mattysheartandsoulanimalrescue.rescuegroups.org.      Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.October 7, 2024, 9:58 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Sarah (fka Caziel) was an owner surrender that was formerly a stray and taken to a high kill shelter in West Texas. She was surrendered due to being adopted from their and owner moving.  She is good with other dogs and older kids, young children and cats are unknown.   She is a high energy girl that would likely be a great running partner.  Her left eye is enlarged due to a deformity but the vet says there are no concerns and she even has some siight with it.  All dogs and puppies require supervision and training. Sarah is a sweet dog with a heart of gold! She is a very loving girl whose whole body wiggles with excitement when her foster parents come home. She can be a bull in a china shop- she loves to run around and play rough with her foster siblings. Sarah can be the only dog in the home, or with other dogs who like to run and chase each other. She may be too much for older dogs who like to nap most of the day. Sarah has not been around cats or young children. She does well with both men and women and absolutely loves to give kisses! She will lay in your lap and lick your face all day if you let her! She will also share your pillow with you while you’re sleeping- she is definitely a velcro dog! Sarah will lay right on top of you if you let her. Sarah requires slow introductions to other dogs. She is not a good dog park or brewery dog candidate. Her foster mom keeps her on a leash for almost a full day when she brings new dogs into the home. Sarah loves other dogs, but she is very unsure of why new dogs are in “her space.” After about a day, she is great with other dogs and loves to run and play with them. But at first, she is very unsure and lashes out at the other dog. She is a good guard dog and will let you know when your Amazon package arrives! She does not resource guard food or toys with humans or other dogs. Sarah walks great on a leash and enjoys daily walks. She can be dog reactive on the leash, but only if the other dog is reactive. If a dog walking by ignores her, she will ignore them back. If the other dog starts pulling and/or barking, Sarah will do it back. Therefore, her foster mom walks her in less busy areas to set her up for success. Sarah is about 90% potty trained- sometimes she has accidents in the house just after eating her morning breakfast. If you’re looking for a sweet dog to add to your home, please consider Sarah!  Please put in your application on our website mattysheartandsoulanimalrescue.rescuegroups.org.      Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.October 7, 2024, 9:58 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Aline found herself dumped at a high kill shelter in West Texas with a broken pelvis. She has had surgery and is recovering well. She is good with other dogs, and older children, cats and younger kids are unknown. Vet does not believe she is a APBT, believes she is a smaller terrier mix, but APBT was put on her rabies cert.  All dogs and puppies require supervision and training. Aline is a super sweet girl who suffered some trauma likely from getting hit by a car and needed surgery on her back leg. The vets in Texas did the surgery and she wasn't healing as quickly as they hoped. So the 2 options were to either amputate or do some intensive therapy to see if that would work. The vet took her home and worked on her for a few months and she recovered beautifully...he did not want to take her leg. So now, she says I am ready for my forever home...let's talk!!  Aline is potty trained, crate trained, and walks well on a leash with a harness. She eats with a slow feeder in her kennel & sleeps in her kennel! It's her safe space. She is still working on gaining some weight and loves getting extra treats or bones to keep her busy! She would do best with a dog sibling to play with! She loves to play, wrestle, and cuddle with her foster brother. She follows him every where and loves to let him take the lead while she builds up her confidence. With her prior leg surgery, sometimes she needs to take a break during play time to let her body rest up or she may limp. After a rest she's ready to go again!  She absolutely loves being outside! Running around the yard or just simply laying in the dirt! She also loves to help me garden & is always right by me while I do all the hard work!  This sweet girl will need extra time to adjust in a new environment & extra time to build trust with her humans. Once you've earned her trust she will show you by giving you kisses, being a wiggle butt, smiling, and just wanting to be next to you! She has been great with the kids (7,5,3) just make sure they show her respect & go slow at first!  First priority will go to someone who lives in the twin cities metro in order to bring to a vet visit.  Please put in your application on our website mattysheartandsoulanimalrescue.rescuegroups.org.      Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.October 7, 2024, 9:58 pm

It is a pleasure to introduce Puddy. He was born September 11,  2023. Originally he was thought to be a boxer mix but one of his siblings had a DNA test done and it came back as a beagle mix, not boxer at all. He’s still young at 1 year but a very lovely sweetheart. He’s calm, gentle and has positive energy. He loves cuddling and attention but also does well waiting for love when you are busy. Puddy is fully potty trained, sleeps all night in his kennel, good with kids and other puppies. I think he could be a very good fit for an emotional support friend. He loves running alongside us while biking for exercise and does great. Please give Puddy and opportunity to be part of your heart, you will never regret it! She loves people so much but needs reminders of her manners not to grab food or drinks. She is very food motivated but she is not a fan of fruits or veggies.  She does know how to sit, she just needs reminding when people are eating as she get over excited.  She love kids and other dogs she is not bad with cats, but most of the time she just wants to play! She bows at our old kitties and barks in a playful way but they don’t have the energy zoomies like she does. We are working very hard on house training but she does still have the occasional accident. She’s a jumper that’s for sure doesn’t bark much except when startled by the cats. Raz is still learning that it is ok to be alone and learning that crates are ok but she will settle down or take her treats and toys into the crate.- She would perfer to be with her people.  Still takes a few naps a day and overall pretty easy going pup she loves to chew on bones and go to the doggie park and run run run as well as in our fenced puppy play area at our apartment. She usually goes to the door & whimpers when she has to go outside. She loves to nestle in a big fuzzy blanket or next to her foster Mamma and does her cute snore while she’s sleeping. She walks pretty well on her leash but will try to hold her leash and try to walk herself. She is so funny when she gallops around with her toys and loves playing ball. She definitely needs a human sibling or a doggie sibling to play with!   If you have previously applied with us please email adoptionatmars@gmail.com to reactivate your application with new interest.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  or    *The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility and does not come with a pedigree. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. Sometimes the pets appear to be a particular breed(s) in the pictures we receive from our rescue partners and when they arrive we are surprised to see an entirely different breed(s) in person!  If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess. It is with deep longing that we wish there was a breed called 'cute' as we believe all of our dogs would fall under this new breed classification! Completion of an Adoption Application via our website www.midwestanimalrescue.org is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is the first step in our adoption process.  *Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.  Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks. Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance. //
