You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Shirley Hope is a 2 year old, 44 lbs. pittie mix who came in to the rescue very skinny and afraid. What a difference a couple weeks make!  Hope loves running around our huge backyard with my resident dogs.  She was very cautious when getting to know them, but with enough time and space she has come to love hanging out with them. Hope is certain that she was meant to be a lap dog and will forcefully snuggle with you anytime you have a lap available (and sometimes when your lap isn't available!)  Her favorite thing in the whole world is having her booty scratched and she will tilt her head back like she is feeling a piece of heaven when you do it.  She goes to the bathroom outside without incident and kennels well when we are not at home.  We leave her out at night and she sleeps on the couch or one of the dog beds.  Hope is very quiet and only barks when playing outside.   We have only had her on a leash a few times and she was quite timid and will need someone to work with her to become more confident.  She will do best in a house that will give her the time and space to come out of her shell.  Hope is the sweetest girl but is nervous around new people and new dogs. She had an injury when she arrived into rescue, and now she has healed - all that remains is a little hop to her step. She is an extremely loyal, loving, snuggly dog that does great with humans of all ages and cats but does need to live in a household where she can be the only dog. She does well with cats, as long as they respect her food - otherwise she'll chase them off! Tinkerbell can get along with other dogs but is pretty under-socialized from her previous owners, and is often misunderstood by other dogs. She is kennel, potty and leash trained. She knows how to sit, stay, shake, high five and is working on laying down. She had mange and was set to be euthanized in the coming days. Well Joy, decided to intervene! She decided to drive to Texas and rescue this pretty girl and give her life and a future! Pretty amazing stuff! Martha is now up in Minnesota in her foster home and doing really well. She is on meds for her skin and getting better day by day. She is gaining weight, and is loving life now. I'm Fiona, but my 7-year-old foster human calls me Weird Barbie because she said someone might have played with me too hard so now I know how the world really works and I just want to be loved for who I am. Because I am Kenough. I'm a 3-ish-year-old pitty mix, blonde, light brown eyes, with funky teeth, an hourglass figure, and a rockin' Mom Bod. I’m housebroken and very polite. I love snuggles on the couch, naps on the couch, belly rubs on the couch, and chewing my stuffies on the couch. (I LOVE the couch... what a cool invention!) Really, my job is Couch; it’s just Couch. BUT…I do also help with household chores: sucking up old french fries out of my foster mom’s minivan and licking the trash can are definite favorites. In my spare time, my 7-year-old foster human and I like to play dress up and have tea parties, but sometimes I need to take a break so I can lick her face. Ok, ok, I ALWAYS have to take a break to lick her face.  I still can't believe I get my own stuffed animals and food every day, so I can get a little protective if other pets come near my stuff. Otherwise, I get along great with other dogs, even the resident dog who my foster mom says hates everyone. Cats? One of my new hobbies is chasing them, so a home without cats is probably best for everyone.  I'm looking for my forever family, with or without children (even teenagers), with or without dogs, definitely with a couch, definitely not with cats or free range small animals. She is good with other dogs and kids, she has done well on her in home cat test as well.   All dogs and puppies require supervision and training.   My name is Mella Bella and I am a laid back girl who wants smooshy snuggles and calm cuddles all the time. If you could work from home so I could please adore you even more, that would be perfect. If you have to leave, I'll go into my kennel but let’s be honest, that’ll make me cry a little bit (I do get over it). However, if I get my walk in the morning before you go, I might just go to sleep in my kennel right away when you leave. At night, I would SO LOVE to sleep with you in your bed (I’m a good little spoon) but, again, if I get a night walk and a treat, I will go to my kennel. I’ll try not to cry but I LOVE YOU SO MUCH! In fact, sometimes it’s hard for me to share you with other dogs. I get a little jealous but after a few days of work, I mostly get over it. I’m still learning how to meet other dogs that I see on walks. I usually ignore them as we walk on by. Cats, you ask? I don’t get jealous of them, they’re just walking fluff with a tail. I might chase a bit, if they’re rascally, but let’s you and I snuggle instead. Kids, you say? I LOVE THEM and I will snuggle with them and expose my belly for them whenever they let me. I’ll be honest: I prefer women. Men inherently scare me, but my foster dad is so calm and gently patient, he’s really growing on me. Please walk me! I’m learning so much about the outside world that I never experienced before coming to MN. I enjoy stopping to figure out what the heck a “squirrel” is, distinguish bird songs, wait for a scary truck to pass by, and roll around in luscious grass or even a dusty road. I’ve been told I’m great on a leash! I like to remind you how much I love you by flopping over on my back so you can rub my melly belly, even on my walks but usually whenever I see you. I will pee & poop on my walks but I’m not sure yet how to tell you that I have to when we’re hanging inside. After you feed me, I love my walk (or fenced in yard) right away to potty. I don’t understand that whole “tie me up in the yard” thingy to go potty yet. If you adopt me, I will love you SO HARD and give you my belly to rub and gently take treats from your hand and never try to be naughty. I aim to please and want to be your good girl FUREVER! I just live for affection and attention, so if I can be the focal point of your home, you’ll see me at my best. When it was just me and my owners, they were able to really love me up and give me all the cuddles I could ask for. Now with the baby, they have to give a lot of attention to her, and I’m not getting as much now. That’s making me really needy, and I don’t know when to stop. I also get very excited sometimes, and I forget how big I am compared to the baby. My owners nieces and nephew who are older kids come to visit sometimes, and I LOVE them. My favorite thing to do is lay in someone's lap while they pet my neck. I’ve been told many times that I think I’m a lap dog. :) I also turn heads and always get comments on my beautiful brindle coat. Gotti is very high energy, extremely smart, and ready to learn. He has all the love in the world to give and is happy laying about and running around in a fenced backyard. He does best when he gets sufficient exercise, so an active home and a large space (not a small apartment, and preferably a home with a backyard) is paramount to your success with him. Gotti has had a long and difficult life in his short 4 years. He has been passed around to many different homes, many of which were not the best circumstances. What started as a temporary stay with us turned into the past two years, and we have grown to love him very much. He is still a long ways away, and will likely never be truly comfortable in a home with other animals- this is why we are searching for a home that does not have any other cats or dogs. He has met many people and has never bitten a person, but we do use a muzzle at times when he is meeting new people. Gotti is such a special dog and deserves the best possible life.

She loves to play with other dogs although the older resident dog does tire out well before her. After all Billie does have a good bit of puppy energy. She ignores the cats but is pretty interested in what is in their food dishes. Billie is still working on establishing house training and is starting to get the hang of it.  Billie has been great with the 13yr old daughter in the home and loves to get as much human attention as she can. When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.  Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks. Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.   //
