Story
Say hello to April! April is a 2.5 year-old Staffordshire Terrier mix and 62 lbs of pure energy and affection.April might take a bit of time to gain confidence around new people, but once she does she will be your best friend forever! She understands that her calling in life is to act as her human’s shadow and will go the extra mile in order to not miss out on any action happening at home. This might even include her licking your hair while you catch up on your latest Netflix binge!April is house trained. It is likely that April used to spend most of her time outdoors, so she may need a bit of guidance as to where the appropriate place to go potty is. She has caught on quickly in her foster home, no accidents! April is also crate trained. She does well in her crate at night and while home alone. Overall, she is the coziest pup who loves fireplaces, heat vents, cozy blankets, cuddling with her humans. While April prefers to see her humans throughout the day, she does well when left home alone and has not been known to vocalize or be destructive. She requires a medium level of activity and is content with a daily walk and plenty of stuffed toys to play with! April is a curious girl who would love to have a fenced yard to sniff around in but it is not required.April has had a difficult journey before coming into our rescue, so she will need time and guidance to learn how to coexist peacefully with other animals. She will benefit from structured introductions and positive reinforcement to help her feel comfortable around new furry friends. When it comes to cats in particular, April has yet to meet one! She has shown signs of a prey drive, so a meet-and-greet would be necessary if there is a cat in the household. When April is feeling playful, her energy can be very high! Her play style is all in good fun but this may overwhelm young children as she can get a bit mouthy. She would do best in a household with children 13 years and older.April is ready to meet her forever home! With patience and consistent structure she will blossom into the perfect companion that anyone could ask for. If you’re interested in learning more about April and think she might be a good fit, fill out an application using the link below to learn more! She’s proven she can read the room well and understands when other pups need some space. She’s gentle when playing and taking treats indicating that she’d likely to very well in a home with children given continued supervision and training.Dori is a true character, bringing joy and laughter with her goofy play style—she loves to toss her toys into the air with dramatic flair and put on a show! While she is generally quiet, she has a few strong opinions about things that go “whirrrr” like vacuums and noisy appliances, but she is bravely learning to make peace with them (especially when treats are involved). She has adapted effortlessly to her foster home, demonstrating her love for comfort by snoozing belly-up with her feet in the air within 24 hours of arrival. She’s proven to be a loyal companion, wanting to join in on all daily activities, including showers! No one’s ever met a dog that loves a bath as much as Dori does. With moderate puppy energy, she enjoys active play and walks but is likely to mellow as she matures. She’s very treat motivated and ready to learn all the tips and tricks you’re ready to teach her! At her core, Dori is an affectionate, playful, and deeply loyal companion who is ready to bring endless love, entertainment, and snuggles to her forever home. Simone is a 16-week-old Pitbull mix puppy and a LOT of fun! Currently weighing 20 pounds, she’s learning new things every day and is looking for a loving family to grow up with.Simone is still working on house training and hasn’t been introduced to a crate yet, but she’s a smart cookie who’s eager to please. She’s already very well-behaved and loves following her humans around, like a curious little shadow. She loves being part of the action and trying to be helpful. At night, she loves snuggling up and giving plenty of kisses. When it's play time, she happily joins her siblings on whatever game is happening—especially if it involves toys! Her favorite move? Rolling a tennis ball around with her nose like a little soccer pro! She also loves short walks so she's been easy to please. She gets along wonderfully with the other dogs in her foster home, only barking when another dog has a toy she wants, but she’s already starting to grow out of it. While she’s still learning about the world and hasn’t met cats or young kids yet, she has a friendly, easygoing vibe that makes her a great candidate for all kinds of families. Simone is looking for a forever home that can offer her love, structure, and lots of playtime. Story
Meet Fenris James Bond – the ultimate gentleman with a big heart and an even bigger cuddle game! At 10 years young, this American Bully/Bull Terrier mix weighs in at 59 lbs of pure love. Fenris is the definition of a people dog—he adores being around his humans and curling up as close as possible. Personal space is optional for him!Fenris is house-trained, free-roams like a champ, and mostly snoozes the day away when you’re out. He’s super food motivated, very smart, and hilariously expressive when he wants something—whether it’s a treat, a trip outside, or just some love. When he is all tuckered out, you'll love to hear his mid-nap woofs! While Fenris is a very low-key guy, he will need a family who understands his needs. Due to how often he needs potty breaks (currently 6 to 8 times a day), he may not be the best match for apartment life, but he could also go up to 6 hours between breaks. A home with easy outdoor access would be perfect. When it comes to other animals, Fenris wants to make friends but might need some help. He gets very excited around other dogs, and has reacted bigger to male dogs than female dogs so far. He will pull on the leash when on he sees other dogs on walks or if something exciting crosses his path (especially squirrels!). He loves playing with other dogs with a proper introduction. He hasn't had much experience with cats or children while in our care, but his foster family has no concerns for introductions there. He’s not a fan of long treks, so he's easy to please! He enjoys a few short strolls each day to explore and find new squirrels to meet in his dreams. If you're looking for a super sweet and smart sidekick, Fenris James Bond is ready to steal your heart! If you are interested in this dog, fill out an application at this link to get the ball rolling - https://pethavenmn.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/dog-adoption-application/The adoption fee is $250. Bruce is a bundle of joy with an endless supply of energy and kisses! At 65 pounds, this 3-year-old still believes he’s a lap dog, blissfully unaware of his size. Whether he's cuddling on the couch with his head in your lap or playing with his squeaky toys, Bruce is a happy-go-lucky pup ready to bring joy to his forever family.Bruce has adjusted well to his new foster home and loves soaking up the affection he receives. He is fully house-trained and crate-trained. While he does bark when he hears noises in his apartment building, he settles easily, making him a good fit for shared walls. He is very smart and knows basic commands, so training has been a breeze. Bruce loves to make new friends—that means more playtime for him! He’s been friendly with people and the dogs he’s met so far. He's good with kids, and while he hasn’t been around cats yet, we can do a slow introduction to see if it’s a match! He is very energetic, so he likes all the play and walks he can get! Bruce is a fun-loving pup that adores squeaky toys, tennis balls, and anything else he can play with. And he loves to play fetch! While he has lots of energy, a fenced yard would be helpful to give him regular exercise and manage his high-energy personality, but is not required. When he's ready to settle down with a treat after a long day, just throw an ice cube his way!Bruce is just the sweetest dog ever! If you're looking for a playful, cuddly, and sweet companion, Bruce is the perfect addition to your home!If you are interested in this dog, fill out an application at this link to get the ball rolling - https://pethavenmn.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/dog-adoption-application/The adoption fee is $250. Story
This 4-year-old Bully mix is full of love and personality! Weighing 52 pounds, Pebbles is a snuggly "pittypotamus" who adores her people, earning her title as a champion cuddler and napper.Pebbles’ past life as a breeding dog has shaped her need for patience and understanding. While she was initially cautious of her new foster home, once she settled, she really knew how to make herself comfortable. She is fully house-trained and crate-trained, happily settling into her crate with the help of a treat. Her favorite activities include sleeping, chewing on toys, and, of course, cuddling. She’s a snoring aficionado with a quirky ability to "sing" with her humans. Her ideal home is one that respects her boundaries, values her quirks, and provides her with the love and security she deserves.Despite her love for walks, Pebbles takes a leisurely approach to exercise and enjoys short strolls at her own pace. While she’s generally calm overall, Pebbles has some leash reactivity when encountering dogs outside the home and benefits from careful introductions. Pebbles is still learning to trust new friends, so careful introductions have been key. She has been socialized with resident dogs and has shown promise, though she cannot live with cats. Pebbles thrives with dog-savvy humans and older kids, as she does resource guard high-value treats and chews. Her foster reports she’s been great with their 8-year-old child, but caution and supervision are necessary in homes with younger kids. She’s currently undergoing muzzle training for vet visits and grooming to ensure everyone’s safety. If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate companion who’s equal parts lazy and loving, Pebbles is ready to make your home her own.If you are interested in this dog, fill out an application at this link to get the ball rolling - https://pethavenmn.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/dog-adoption-application/The adoption fee is $450. Story
Updated 4.3.25   Daisy and Lilly are bonded sisters from the same litter. Daisy is the type A initiator, and Lilly is up for anything Daisy recommends. Daisy will groom Lilly and encourage her to go out and go potty. Without Daisy, Lilly would be adrift at sea. Both girls are very comfortable with humans of all sizes and can't ever say no to cuddles. The two gals would do best with a human at home with them most of the day, however, their current foster is working 8 hour shifts and they manage well enough (Lilly does have an indoor accident here and there when home alone that long). Both are ok to be free roam in the home when alone without a human. Neither has chewed on items or gotten on the counters.    The girls' ideal home would have a big, fenced yard because both prefer to roam in a safe place vs go on walks on a leash. Their ideal home also has lots of humans (adults and kids) to give them attention often.    Their current foster thinks they are absolutely capable of learning a new routine, but if they have their way they get lots of cuddles, lots of back yard brakes, and lots of love.   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 3, 2025, 10:05 am
