Story
Juniper is a 3 year old spayed female, 50 lbs (large size). She is very playful and loving and is looking for a quiet new home where she can be fulfilled with daily exercise and training, and relax. She has a lot of drive, and loves playing fetch, training for new skills, and is a very fast runner. She is trained to sit, stay, come, wait, leave it, and has great leash etiquette when no distractions are present such as squirrels and other dogs. She has lots of potential to be a working dog or companion for an active experienced owner. She plays nice with other dogs, and would do well with a dog sibling of similar size, though she would need a test meeting with a new sibling. She likes cats but would do better without a kitty sibling, because she has a strong drive to hunt and play with small animals. Would do better without kids, she is overstimulated by kids.

My name is Hukarere, but friends call me Zaya! I`m a super sweet energetic girl, and I`m house-trained and crate-trained. I love to make new friends and make my people laugh! True to my breed, I like to herd people, and would do best in a home without young children or cats. I like other dogs but would do best not living with them as I don`t always like to share my humans. Basic Information Other Female 2 years old 40 lbs. Brown eyes Black-White-White fur coat Important Notes About Morticia Possibly good with dogs and cats Good with kids over 10 years old High energy level Special Training If adopted, Morticia will come with a six session training package to successfully transition to home life. More Info Hello, my name is Morticia, and I am a young mixed breed looking for a new best friend! I am believed to be part cattle dog because of my medium size and exuberant personality. I was surrendered because I tried to herd people at my previous home, so I need someone who can give me an outlet for my energy. I am eager to please and happy to work—just give me something to do! While I have some issues getting along with children and small animals, I get along really well with other dogs. I thrive in an environment where I can engage in activities that challenge my mind and body, whether it's learning new tricks, playing fetch, or going on long walks. I have a strong desire to bond with my human companions and show my love through enthusiastic kisses. I may want you all to myself, but with some guidance, I can learn how to share my affection. If you’re looking for a devoted and energetic companion who will fill your days with joy, we’re a match made in heaven!

Story
About Me: Name: Bootsie Breed (or best guess): Heeler or Kelpie mix Approximate Age: 2 yr Gender: Female Approximate Weight: 30 lb Adoption Fee: $495 Requirements: Loving Family Why In Rescue: Owner Surrender Profile:  Bootsie is in a foster home as she was very scared at the shelter.  We have learned that she really prefers men over women, and likes dogs better than people.  She is very well trained.  Walks great on a leash and is housetrained.  Bootsie will need a patient adopter especially for the first couple weeks of getting used to a new home.  She has tons of potential, just needs to learn how to interact with people instead of just other dogs. Bootsie was a well loved girl in her family but when a family member passed away some of the dogs in the home needed to find new homes.  Bootsie is a smart girl that knows some commands and tricks, but she  is shy and sad to be in a shelter.  With some time in a home, we are sure she will flourish.  We don't know how she is with children, but did live with a variety of other dogs. She seems to know how to walk on a leash and tries to keep her kennel clean.  If interested in Bootsie, please fill out the preadoption application. We do put the needs of the dog's first, so it is nothing personal if we determine a particular dog isn't suitable for your specific home and living situation. If considering adopting a former breeding dog, the following article is good to read to help you understand the special needs these dogs may have.  http://nowisconsinpuppymills.com/mill-survivors.html If interested in adoption, the first step is filling out the pre-adoption application at http://www.bichonrescues.com/pre-adoption-form-dog  If link isn't clickable, please copy/paste or visit http://www.bichonrescues.com.  Please note, filling out inquiry forms on Petfinder or Adoptapet and/or their application forms does not constitute an application for one of our dogs.  Priority in responding to inquires and applications is always to the applications filled out on our website, time constraints limit the number of other inquires we can reply to. We do our best to evaluate the dogs while they are with us, but they sometimes act different in the shelter environment than they do in a home.  Many times we do not know the actual breed/mix or age of the dog, in that case we use our best guess as to breed and age.   We are located in Mukwonago, WI.  Adopters must come to us, we do not ship our dogs.  Please do not apply for a dog until you are ready to adopt.  Once an application is approved you will be notified by email to make an appointment to meet the dog.  All dogs are seen by appointment only. The adoption fee through Bichon and Little Buddies Rescue is $495 for most adults and up to $650 for puppies which includes Wi State Sales Tax.  Included in this fee is your new companion who will be spayed/neutered, have a current Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (as required by state law), current on age appropriate vaccinations, heartworm tested (if old enough) and started on preventative, microchipped, and given a general wormer.  Other medical needs will also have been taken care of, such as dentals and treating ear infections.  To assist you and your new pet in adjusting to life together, you may chose to take an 8 week age appropriate obedience training course at For Pet's Sake Dog Training in Mukwonago, WI for $100 (up to $260 value).  You may opt to take Puppy Kindergarten, Adult Beginners, or Small Dogs Big Hearts.  You must register for the class within 90 days of adoption for the reduced fee.  For more information on the classes visit www.forpetssake.cc  More important information: ***We are a Wisconsin based rescue and do not ship our pets.  If you are considering adoption you must be willing to drive to meet and adopt the pet, as well as bring the pet back to us if the adoption doesn't work.  We adopt primarily in WI and IL, but will consider applicants in MN, IA, and MI.*** ***Please do not set up an appointment to meet the animals until you are ready to take your pet home.  If the meeting results in a match, you can often take the dog/cat home the same day or within a couple days if the medical care hasn't been completed.  We are not able to hold pets for adopters beyond this time.  Thanks for understanding.*** ***While we hope all of our adoptions lead to permanent homes for the animals we place, sometimes things just don't work out.  We do have a 30 day trial period.  For the first 30 days, if you or Bichon and Little Buddies decide that the adoption isn't a good match for either the humans or the pet, the adoption fee will be refunded minus $100 within 30 days of the return of the dog.  Bichon and Little Buddies also requires adopters to return the pet to us at any time that they are unable or unwilling to care for the animal anymore.*** ***We do not show dogs without an appointment.  The first step in adoption is filling out the pre-adoption application at http://www.bichonrescues.com/pre-adoption-form-dog  Please do not call/email until AFTER you have filled out an application.*** Bichon and Little Buddies is a State Licensed Rescue # 268555-DS November 20, 2025, 4:19 pm

Story
Meet Sadie the mixed breed puppy Arriving in WI on December 12th! Sadie is an adorable 2.5 month old female mixed breed pup. Her mom looks like a heeler mix and his father is unknown. We anticipate her to be medium size when fully grown. She has a beautiful smooth black coat. She is a sweet and friendly pup who cannot wait to get out of the shelter and to her forever home in the Midwest. She loves people and plays well with other dogs. She is up to date on vaccines, dewormed and microchipped, and she comes with her medical records and interstate health certificate from a veterinary examination prior to leaving Texas, which certifies her to be in good condition. She will be arriving in Muskego, WI on Friday, December 12th, and will be available to meet, and take home if she is a good fit, by the first family to have placed an exclusive hold deposit as set out below. Her adoption fee is $500, which will be used to support the many animals in our care whose medical bills far surpass their much lower adoption fee. She is available for an exclusive hold with a deposit of $250, which we give on a first come, first served, basis. The balance of the adoption fee is due upon meeting/finalizing the adoption on Friday December 12th. If upon meeting, she is not a good fit for your family, the deposit is refundable. We ask that you are serious about your intent to adopt before placing a deposit, so as not to prevent her from finding her forever family in the meantime, as we only accept one deposit per dog. If you’re not already familiar with our group, please feel free to visit our Group Page at https://www.facebook.com/groups/TxRescueRidersCommunity If you are serious about this pup, please contact us at DogTrailRides@gmail.com. We take payments through Zelle, Venmo, or CashApp, or we can take card numbers over the phone and process them through Square. All of these methods provide a receipt. Thank you for supporting our efforts to bring Texas dogs north to loving homes! You can read more about us at https://facebook.com/TxRescueRiders (Texas Rescue Riders). Also feel free to join our Group Facebook Page https://www.facebook.com/groups/TxRescueRidersCommunity (Texas Rescue Riders Community) where members can post directly. We cannot guarantee breed or age. We assign breed and age designations based on veterinary advice and information from the prior owner.
