Story
Hellooo everyone, it’s me, Pete, the active dog with one of the longest tongues around here. After all, when you enjoy running, chasing the ball even though I don’t always return it – after all I also let people enjoy the fetching part, haha! Oh and butt scratches feel so good, they get me all wiggly. I’m ready to share all the excitement that life has to offer with an active and fun loving family.

Story
Meet Lucy, a lovely 30 lb Blue Heeler mix. If you're looking for a dog that loves to snuggle, play, and just be near her people, look no further! Lucy has lived in a home with a fenced in yard as well as a home where she needed to potty on leashed walks. She is easily distracted, so she needs a consistent location and reminders to go potty before fun things happen in the beginning (first 3-5 days). She has not given cues that she wants to go out yet, but has done very well with a routine. She is now starting to go potty with less rigor as she has become familiar with our neighborhood and walking route (we start with the potty spot but then she goes again at the end of the walk without being asked to.)Lucy REALLY loves her people and wants to be near them whenever she can - she is a great couch snuggler! She likes to meet new people, but if they are going to enter the house then introductions should be tried outside first or with her behind a gate as she has displayed the heeler/terrier tendency to guard her people from unfamiliar intruders by growling. She does accept new people into the house and seeks pets after a few minutes. This may improve with time and confidence as she has only been in her current environment for a week. She lived with 14 other small dogs at one point and as an only dog currently. As a young adult heeler she can become overstimulated so a single, well matched dog sibling or as an only dog would be best. She has reacted positively to adult dogs her size or smaller (mostly female) as well as been very forgiving with puppies. ABSOLUTELY NO CATS as she has a very high prey drive - if it runs she will chase it.Lucy has not lived with kids but has interacted with them in public. She has been cuddly and affectionate with respectful children who did not "come in hot" straight to her face but allowed her to come to them. She has given a corrective air bite when charged by a running child, so her space and safety will need to be protected by her humans (like with any dog). She currently sleeps in a crate but is not fond of it. She has made her desires known that she would really prefer to steal your bed, but with consistent training a happy medium should be possible where she sleeps on a dog bed outside of the crate. She has been left alone in the crate for short amounts of time, and each time has started with 10-15 minutes of drama before she settles down. We have successfully left her alone outside of the crate which resulted in far less drama. She cried briefly and then just slept by the door with occasional trips to look out the front window. She has not been left alone crated or otherwise for multiple hours.Lucy loves to chase/fetch stuffed squeaky toys and is doing well with giving them up for another throw. She has also shown interest in chewing on an antler chew when we are busy. Lucy walks well on a leash and with her long legs may be a great jogging, agility or even fly-ball partner (but not required). She is also picking up other manners such as sit, stay, leave it and off fairly quickly as she is one smart cookie. She is very food motivated which helps. Lucy has permitted us to trim her toenails and has taken the periodic maintenance pill with a little peanut butter. There was minimal drama during her bath but she was not happy either, so probably not a water dog (but she loves pontoon boats).Lucy is a very affectionate, bond-to-her-people, funny, optimistic pup looking for an experienced or willing to take training family. With clear and consistent communication she will continue to blossom into the fantastic dog she has shown she can become.Ask to meet her today!! Adoption fee: $475 All cats/kittens have been fully vetted including spay/neuter, micro-chipping, worming, heartworm testing and preventative treatment, flea/tick preventative, and all required age appropriate vaccinations. Our adoption process requires the submission of an application. Applications and Adoption Rules can be found on our website, on the "HOW TO ADOPT" tab on our website at JRsPupsNStuff.org. Story
Named for his cookies and cream coloring, Chips Ahoy is a resilient canine with a heart as big as his love for squeaky toys! Meet Chips Ahoy!Chips is a 2-year-old black-and-white cutie weighing in at 13 lbs. He’s an adorable and playful companion who loves fetch, playing with toys, and snuggling up while you watch TV. He’s potty trained, enjoys his walks, and adores his bones and hanging out with his people. While Chips is an affectionate and fun dog, he’s been through some tough times and is looking for a patient, loving forever home. Because of his past, he needs help working through his trust issues with new people and dogs. However, he's currently living with two other foster dogs and gets along great with them! With a little time and patience, Chips adjusts well, and with the help of his trainer, he’s making excellent progress. Chips will thrive in a home with older kids or adults who understand his needs and can continue his training journey. No small children, please—they can be too unpredictable for him right now. If you’re ready to give Chips Ahoy the time and space he needs to fully blossom, you’ll find him to be an incredibly easy, loving dog. Could you be the forever family Chips is waiting for?
