Story
Sean is an adorable Australian Shepherd mix puppy with a lifetime of adventures ahead of him. Like all puppies, he's playful, curious, and learning about the world—but his breed mix means he'll need far more than a cute face and a backyard. Please read carefully: Australian Shepherd mixes are highly intelligent, energetic dogs who thrive when they have both physical exercise and mental enrichment every single day. They are happiest with families who enjoy an *active lifestyle* and are committed to training, socialization, and giving their dog a job to do. Without enough structure and activity, these dogs can become bored and develop unwanted behaviors. Sean is looking for adopters who understand that raising a puppy is a long-term commitment. The first year requires patience, consistency, house training, leash training, continued socialization, and plenty of positive reinforcement. As he grows, his exercise and enrichment needs will only increase. This is not a puppy for someone looking for a calm, low-maintenance companion or a dog who will be content spending long hours alone. Brian will flourish with people who are ready to invest the time and energy needed to help him become the wonderful adult dog he's meant to be. Adopters must be home every 2 hours during this important developmental stage. If you're excited by the idea of an active, intelligent partner to join you on life's adventures—and you're prepared for the commitment that comes with raising a working-breed mix—Sean may be the perfect match for you. (HH) Estimated adult weight is about 40 to 50 pounds, with no guarantees.

Story
Draco is a young 38-pound sweetheart with a great mix of affection and playful energy. In the home, he’s calm, well-mannered, and easy to live with—he loves to be close to his people and is always up for a good cuddle. Outside, Draco enjoys his walks and a little playtime, including the occasional zoomies. He’s smart and responsive, walks nicely on leash, and continues to improve with guidance—especially when something exciting like a squirrel catches his eye. He’s social with other dogs, though a bit enthusiastic in his greetings, and would benefit from continued structure and consistency. Draco bonds quickly with his people and does best with calm, confident handling. He’s house-trained, does well when left alone, and is generally a quiet, easy companion. He will need an adult/12+ dog-savvy child home. If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate, and easygoing companion who also brings a little playful spark to your life, Draco might just be your perfect match. Fill out a questionnaire and a volunteer will be in touch. (AO)

Story
Lala is a sweet 32-pound Australian Shepherd mix who is looking for her new forever home. She is friendly with humans although she can be shy at first and is looking for a patient human to allow her time to open up. She is dog-friendly and would do well in a home with a dog sibling, but she is open to being an only dog too. It is likely she has some foundations in house training, but she will benefit from continued training. Pongo is a real ball of energy, with enough enthusiasm to keep you going all day long. Due to his excitement, Pongo can be a little mouthy at times, so you might want to invest in some sturdy chew toys! Despite his playful nature, Pongo is also one smart cookie. He's always eager to learn new tricks and commands, and with the right training, he's sure to be the top dog in no time. However, it's worth noting that Pongo may need some extra guidance when it comes to being around kids. He's still learning the ropes, but with patience and lots of treats, he'll be the perfect family pet in no time. Please call 707-459-4900 if you would like to meet Pongo.

Story
If you’re looking for a truly happy-go-lucky, sweetheart of a puppy, this adorable, fluffy gent is for you! At ~6 months old and 45lbs, Cash is very shy and gets easily overwhelmed when meeting new people; he may even run and hide from you at first, but the moment he realizes you’re safe and just want to give him some love, he puts his big boy britches on and warms up to you, showing you his truly kind-natured, sweet persona. Once he opens up, Cash adores being showered with pets and belly rubs and gazing deeply into your eyes with a puppyish grin on his face, all while soaking up your attention and affection and adding it to his mental confidence meter. The quickest way to Cash’s heart is definitely through another fun-loving pup or pups. He absolutely LOVES loves loves other dogs of all shapes and sizes — puppies and adults, small and giant — and his play style is truly a joy to watch; he’s energetic and interactive, yet respectful and plays quietly, especially for such a youngster. Playtime and just being around other resident dogs is his favorite time of the day… other than naps, of course! Cash accepts treats gently, doesn’t resource guard, appreciates cuddling up with soft toys, and has already mastered the puppy art of basking in the sun, either by himself, with his buddies, or with his human by his side. This adorable, charming fella would thrive in a calm and peaceful home with another dog or dogs to play with. Ideally an active person, couple, or family to introduce him to new noises and new things (slowly…), and who would take him on exciting pack hikes and new adventures! Cash comes from a secluded, serene environment in the woods, so urban settings are understandably very scary and overwhelming for him.

Story
Delilah is a spunky, high energy six month-old puppy. We rescued her from a shelter when she was 2 months old. We’ve provided her with an attentive and loving home and up-to-date vet care. She is healthy, super smart, house trained, crate trained, affectionate and will thrive with consistent activity, training and opportunities to use her working-dog skills. She appears to have strong border collie/shepherd traits possibly McNab (reactive to movement, high energy, focused, athletic, mouthy, ready to herd). She needs strong, consistent training and a “job” (farm life?) or lots of active adventures.
