Story
Pongo is a real ball of energy, with enough enthusiasm to keep you going all day long. Due to his excitement, Pongo can be a little mouthy at times, so you might want to invest in some sturdy chew toys! Despite his playful nature, Pongo is also one smart cookie. He's always eager to learn new tricks and commands, and with the right training, he's sure to be the top dog in no time. However, it's worth noting that Pongo may need some extra guidance when it comes to being around kids. He's still learning the ropes, but with patience and lots of treats, he'll be the perfect family pet in no time. Please call 707-459-4900 if you would like to meet Pongo.

Story
If you’re looking for a truly happy-go-lucky, sweetheart of a puppy, this adorable, fluffy gent is for you! At ~6 months old and 45lbs, Cash is very shy and gets easily overwhelmed when meeting new people; he may even run and hide from you at first, but the moment he realizes you’re safe and just want to give him some love, he puts his big boy britches on and warms up to you, showing you his truly kind-natured, sweet persona. Once he opens up, Cash adores being showered with pets and belly rubs and gazing deeply into your eyes with a puppyish grin on his face, all while soaking up your attention and affection and adding it to his mental confidence meter. The quickest way to Cash’s heart is definitely through another fun-loving pup or pups. He absolutely LOVES loves loves other dogs of all shapes and sizes — puppies and adults, small and giant — and his play style is truly a joy to watch; he’s energetic and interactive, yet respectful and plays quietly, especially for such a youngster. Playtime and just being around other resident dogs is his favorite time of the day… other than naps, of course! Cash accepts treats gently, doesn’t resource guard, appreciates cuddling up with soft toys, and has already mastered the puppy art of basking in the sun, either by himself, with his buddies, or with his human by his side. This adorable, charming fella would thrive in a calm and peaceful home with another dog or dogs to play with. Ideally an active person, couple, or family to introduce him to new noises and new things (slowly…), and who would take him on exciting pack hikes and new adventures! Cash comes from a secluded, serene environment in the woods, so urban settings are understandably very scary and overwhelming for him.

Story
Meet Crosby! Crosby is an 8 month old, 45ish pound Catahoula mix who exudes energetic, puppy joy and happiness. He’s a confident, intelligent pup who loves people and other dogs he’s met (so far), and his wonderful Catahoula nature offers a deep desire to please his humans, to love on them, and to be a part of the family. He’s still a young fellow who will need guidance, training, and structure to grow into an amazing, well-mannered adult, but he’s a very quick learner, and he’s looking forward to learning all this exciting stuff from a loving adopter like you! Crosby is very energetic and adventurous without being obnoxious, but he does require daily exercise (a large yard, toys, walks or hikes) to keep his mind and his body stimulated. He also greatly appreciates cuddling up by his human’s side and taking frequent naps in the sun, either with you or with his fellow canine friends. Although he’s got a great bark (not yippie or high pitched) that will only improve with age, he plays surprisingly quietly with his buddies in general, even during heated games of chase. If you’ve got the time to spend with this adorable, very happy bundle of play-doh while he blooms from puppyhood into adulthood with a constant smile on his face, Crosby will undoubtedly and almost instantly become your/your family’s very loyal, loving, best friend for life. Because he’s still young, energetic, and brand new to learning the ropes about manners and life, (like not jumping on people to say hello, for example), he would do best in a home without small children that he could easily knock over or accidentally scratch while playing. Crosby hasn’t spent up-close and personal time with cats in his foster home, but he’s frequently watched them through windows and screen doors, reacting excitedly/happily with tail wagging, but not at all aggressively — just curiosity. He’d likely do very well in a home with cats once he’s a little more mature, but only with a mindful, slow integration, of course, and only after he’s learned his basic commands. Crosby is a true gem of an older puppy, and if you’ve got an active, adventurous lifestyle filled with a nice balance of excitement and quiet, cuddling moments, he’d love, love, love to be your buddy!

Story
Meet the lovely gentleman Shiro, he has been with us a long while. We hope to find this sweet fellow a retirement home. Recently we had him to the vets where he had a bunch of teeth pulled and a mass removed behind his ear. He is all recovered now, but we realize he is a senior and he so enjoyed his extra pampering post surgery, Shiro deserves a loving home for his remaining years. Shiro is most comfortable with adults, women preferred, but he warms up to men too. He is not a social butterfly with humans or dogs, though can still be playful for a bit with his buddy Taz, and go on walks with others - he just doesn't appreciate being jumped on. He has slowed down and isn't as passionate about his playful relationship with Taz any longer. Leisurely walks, and sleeping the day away are his goals in life - and getting loved on by his people. He can be a bit selective or protective so thus a calmer and more predictable home environment is desired. Shiro wants to relax and be loved. Shiro is housetrained, not a huge fan of water or swimming, likes toys and will collect them, he loves laying outdoors and he needs brushing relatively often as he has a double coat. With his stunning looks and crystal blue eyes this gentle soul will bring great joy to your quiet home.

Story
Lucas — a handsome, house-trained companion with a big personality and an even bigger heart. Lucas is leash trained, knows basic commands like “sit” and “down,” and is both treat- and affection-motivated, making him a great candidate for continued training. He’s a medium-energy pup who loves being social, whether he’s making dog friends or soaking up attention from his favorite people. Despite his playful social side, Lucas also has a mellow streak and enjoys relaxing with his family after a good walk or outing. Lucas would do best in a home with dog-savvy children ages 10+ and other friendly dogs, but he is not a good fit for homes with cats. He can be left alone for short periods (up to about 2 hours), though he does experience some vocal separation anxiety and will benefit from patience, structure, and reassurance. Lucas thrives with clear boundaries and consistent training — he’s smart and eager, but without guidance he may test limits and try to run the show. Because Lucas does not have reliable recall, he must always remain on leash or in a secure area. He’s known to wander or bolt out the door if given the opportunity, so a vigilant adopter committed to safety and ongoing training is essential. With the right person, Lucas will be a loyal, affectionate, and endlessly entertaining best friend.

Story
Delilah is a spunky, high energy six month-old puppy. We rescued her from a shelter when she was 2 months old. We’ve provided her with an attentive and loving home and up-to-date vet care. She is healthy, super smart, house trained, crate trained, affectionate and will thrive with consistent activity, training and opportunities to use her working-dog skills. She appears to have strong border collie/shepherd traits possibly McNab (reactive to movement, high energy, focused, athletic, mouthy, ready to herd). She needs strong, consistent training and a “job” (farm life?) or lots of active adventures.
