Story
Meet Rusty! He's a four year old miniature Australian shepherd who weighs 17 pounds. This adorable boy is loving and loyal with people he knows and trusts. He will always be right near you and is incredibly intelligent -- he enjoys training and eager to please. He's a nervous nelly and needs a confident owner who will give him lots of structure. Rusty can be reactive to moving objects and territorial of his home like many herding breeds. This boy would love a home out of a busy city with space to run. He's done well with confident dogs and could live with another dog. He is crate trained. His new home must be adults only and adopters must have previous dog experience. Meet and greets for Rusty will be by scheduled appointment after an approved application. If you are interested in meeting please fill out an application at our website www.gobeyondrescue.org/adopt. Our adoption fee is $450 and includes spay/neuter, microchipping and up to date vaccines. We adopt within 200 miles of San Francisco.

Story
Say hello to your future best friends, Marshall and Daisy, a pair of the most heart-warming Australian Shepherd mixes you will ever meet! These two are your ultimate adventure companions! They find happiness on long hikes, love car rides, and have a natural curiosity about the world around them. But don't let their adventurous side fool you; they're just as content to enjoy a lazy afternoon lounging around at home. These two come from a loving home and their current owner is deeply saddened to part ways with them due to a move in with a partner who is allergic. As such, we're on a mission to find a new forever home where these lovely dogs will be cherished and given the love they deserve. Marshall and Daisy have a history of being great with other dogs, cats, and even children. They are the perfect addition to any home willing to accommodate this bonded pair and give them the love, attention, and care they need.

Not good with dogs,
Story
LOCATION: SANCTUARY IN WILLITS, CA. Shiro likes to play with toys, and is very smart. He is a moderately high drive dog like most herding breeds and likes activity on his terms. He likes his walks but his insecurities keep him from being a dog park dog. He bonds heavily with a particular person and sometimes a particular dog - he is IN LOVE with the dog SNOW KITTY at the Milo Sanctuary, and would follow him anywhere. Shiro is wary of strangers but is very loyal to his people and for this reason he can be protective. He needs a very predictable, low stim. home to be successful. Training and building Shiro's confidence would be key to have Shiro flourish. *Previous Notes* 5/20/17 "Shiro is a super mellow dog. He just loves to sleep all day when we are at work. He does not bark or chew anything up. He is potty and house trained and never has had an accident inside the house. He is so furry and soft and has stunningly beautiful blue eyes. Shiro loves to run around and play fetch and catch Frisbee when he is not cuddling next to you. He loves the outdoors but is not a super energetic dog. He will just sleep all day or go for a walk with you. He loves squeaky toys and will just collect them from around the house if you hide them. He is intelligent and treat motivated. He was able to learn how to sit and was learning how to stay in just a few training sessions. *Shiro has probably had a rough past. When the vet examined him, we found a pellet in his x-rays. It is probably from being shot. He bonds very well with women and is more skittish with males. He also tends to get scared of men and tries to guard his female guardian sometimes. He does not like strangers coming up to him and gets protective of his owners. He would do well with experienced owners. We are not sure how he does with kids - Milo suggests a home without children for a myriad of reasons due to his stranger danger. He is insecure and can react poorly when meeting new dogs, but usually settles in and is fine - but can take some work with him and a new dog to get past the initial snapping and jitters, running with his tail tucked. *He needs lots of love, affection, and discipline, which we were unable to provide with our busy lives." *Shiro is not a first time dog, nor a city dog. He has fairly severe stranger danger and a bite record, he has fear based aggression to dogs and people. He needs a predictable environment, and a buddy dog. Interested please email an application to sanctuary@milofoundation.org Thank you for considering adoption of a Milo Foundation Sanctuary dog. Our Sanctuary is where our rescued dogs who have had difficulty in a home in the past, have behavioral issues, or too much energy, or for some, aggression issues with other dogs, or intense stranger danger that make them more difficult to safely and happily live in urban environments. These are not beginner dogs or for the most part nor are they for families with children. IF you are looking for an easy dog to add to your family, we suggest looking at the dogs at our Adoption Center, Milo Pt Richmond. BUT, if you can offer a safe and nurturing home to a dog with some behavioral "quirks" please do send an application today. Thank you.

Story
Meet Bailey! This girl is super sweet and loving! She is a people dog for sure, and would thrive most in a home where she will not be left alone for too long. Bailey enjoys slow and casual walks so she can take in all the smells, sleeping, and snuggling up next to people. Bailey has so much love to give! She is such a snuggle bug once she feels comfortable with you. Her precious smile is guaranteed to bring so much joy to the lives of her humans! A quiet, adult-only home who can give her the space she sometimes needs, would be best for this lovebug. Bonus: Bailey knows how to give a "High Five!"

Good with dogs,
Story
Meet Jingles! He is a special guy whose tail jingles a mile a minute. He is a happy fella that may have been born with or experienced some previous trauma that has led to what we think are neurological and brain function, and mild depth perception issues. He's a busy boy with a lot of motion and circling. He likes toys, loves treats!! This doesn't seem to inhibit him from loving life, and wanting to have fun! He will need to find a family that not only has experience, but are also willing to take on the quirks that make him so special. He will need to meet everyone in the family prior to adoption, and we recommend no kids, teenagers are fine. Any dogs he is to live with need to be tolerant and non reactive. Positive reinforcement training is recommended to help teach him manners, he grabs at food so some caution is needed when giving treats.

Story
Butters is a charismatic and happy Australian Shepherd mix. He would be the terrific addition for an active family (Older kids, no toddlers). He would do best in an active home that can provide plenty of exercise and mental stimulation. Butters' outgoing personality makes him a hit with everyone he meets, and his eagerness to please will make training a breeze. He's a great dog and a quick learner who is just waiting to show off his potential. Whether you're seeking a hiking buddy, a loyal companion for your older children, or simply a new best friend, Butters is ready to fill that role.

Good with dogs,
Story
Koda Bear is a joy! She has been having a blast with her foster family! She is house trained and had no accidents, she is patient, and bonds quickly with people. She likes her food, so watch out with leaving things on the table/counter, however. She has a bit of initial separation anxiety, but hasn't been destructive at all, and she's fine once settled into a new home/routine. Koda Bear loves long fast walks, pulling the squeakers out of toys, short games of fetch, and chasing squirrels! The more hours spent outdoors the better, she's not one to lie around all day so would do best with a relatively active person or family, and would be thrilled with a fenced yard where she could play with another dog perhaps, and chase squirrels. She's a bit of a puller, especially if she sees a squirrel or cat, so a sturdy harness is recommended for walks. She has a bit of prey drive, so would do best in a house with no cats, though has co-housed with a cat that doesn't run and is fine - but she is intrigued, so best no-cats unless the cat is very dog-savvy. She's smart and learns quickly, and with a bit of time, love and training, she'll be an amazing companion. And she loves to get in the shower/bathtub, or a pool - so, easy to wash!!

Story
Patches is just about perfect. He's three years old and fully grown at 33 pounds. He is loved by everyone he meets. He was terrified at the shelter and a few not good but great samaritans took him out of the clanging loud overcrowded shelter and brought him outside where he transformed into a wonderful adorable loving fun dog .. the kind of dog who makes the world's best companion and the kind of dog you raise your kids with. He was scheduled to die and Reunion Rescue put a rescue hold on him. We didn't have a cent in the bank and had just pulled Pumpkin another sweetheart pittie. He was a leap of faith because we KNEW he was a perfect dog and that perfect home is out there waiting for him. Here is his TikTox which shows him going from terrified to super pup all in a few minutes: https://www.tiktok.com/@heathersshelterpals/video/7275403855792327979 Reunion Rescue and Animals First Rescue has the greatest foster to adopt program and if interested you can get into our holistic support and never pay another vet bill.
