Story
Olivia is a 2-year-old White Australian Shepherd that weighs about 50 lbs. She was originally found by her previous owner tied to a tree. She was abandoned by this owner and left at a pet sitter’s home. She is deaf and partially blind but does know some hand signal commands (Stop and come). Olivia is friendly and playful with other dogs, loves people and is very affectionate. She's very smart, sleeps well but sometimes gets up at night and walks around. She is leash trained and enjoys her walks. The Foster has helped her with some mild separation anxiety. Olivia is best suited in a home with other dogs and/or kids as she needs stimulation and activity. She is house trained and will be spayed, vaccinated and chipped soon. If you are interested in Olivia, please go to our website: www.amrdog.org and complete the application. LOCAL AREA ADOPTION ONLY

Story
Carhartt is a sweet young pup with a soft, sensitive nature who does best with a calm and gentle approach. She can be shy with new people and needs a little extra encouragement—especially tasty treats—to help her feel comfortable coming out of her kennel. Carhartt's leash skills have been improving, daily, and she enjoys being with other dogs, which can help her feel more at ease. She loves spending time in her crate, the area she feels the safest in, exploring the world with her nose, and seems to do well when left alone. With patience, consistency, and plenty of positive reinforcement, Carhartt has all the potential to blossom into a loving and loyal companion. To meet Carhartt, visit the Best Friends Pet Adoption Center at 1845 Pontius Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90025. We're open daily from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm. You can also email us at adoptla@bestfriends.org. Please remember, pets cannot be held or reserved. Come by and see if Carhartt is the perfect match for you!

Story
Jolene & Mia are about 1.5-2 years old. Both are spayed and vaccinated. They enjoy walks, playing with toys, wrestling with each other or their dog friends, sunbathing, and being brushed. These two were found abandoned and living in the desert with few other dogs last year. Since then, many people have put in a lot of effort to teach them humans are not the enemy. They have come a long way and are now ready to begin bonding with their future family. Mia can be shy at first but after about 1 day she will start to show more interest until she's cuddled up next to you or barking at you to play. She knows how to walk nice on leash, sit-down, place. She's working on her stay, leave it and come still. Jolene is much more shy. She is a dog that will need a routine and time in order to trust her new owner. She has just started allowing us to pet and brush her which she is really enjoying. She knows how to sit, go to her place and loves her crate. It would be best for the girls to be adopted together however they can be adopted separately.
