Story
Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. To ensure Sugar #6 finds the best possible home, we ask you fill out our adoption application so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application in the order submitted and will contact you within 48 hours (please check your spam folder for our emails).   Sugar #6 | 12 weeks | Aussie Mix with a sweet but spunky vibe Sugar is an 12-week-old Aussie mix puppy who perfectly balances sweetness and spunk. Weighing around 15 pounds, this carmel colored girl with unique markings on her face is friendly, playful, and full of puppy enthusiasm. She loves toys and approaches new situations with confidence and curiosity. Sugar is quick to bounce back if things don’t go as planned and is always eager for her next adventure—or cuddle. Sugar is starting from scratch with house training and basic manners, as expected for her age. She’s still learning that the crate is a safe place and may vocalize at first, especially when left alone. She has been crated for short stretches (around 3–4 hours) and is gradually improving. Like most puppies, she’s working through play biting and learning appropriate chew habits, and treats are a great way to keep her engaged and learning. She has done very well with other dogs, including much larger ones, and would love a canine companion to play with. Sugar is also doing well with cats—she’s curious and playful and is learning boundaries with guidance. She hasn’t met kids yet but is generally social and affectionate with people of all kinds. Sugar will need an active home committed to continued training, exercise, and patience as she grows into her personality.   If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a meet and greet is scheduled. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to complete the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives!  A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you.  The adoption fee for this pet is $450 (includes a $50 refundable puppy training deposit). Our adoption fee covers the following: Spay/neuter Microchip DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog.  Rabies vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Adopters shall be responsible for all vaccinations after adoption. Please fill out an adoption application by clicking here. Please give us 48 hours to review your application and respond to you. (Remember to check your spam folder for our emails!) We want our pets to go to a lifelong new home, so thank you for your patience during the adoption process! Please email dogs@arrcolorado.org for more information, as we can't accept calls.PLEASE NOTE:  The breed listed is the information we've received from the shelter.  Shelters usually guess at the breed, so there is no guarantee, as we don't DNA test our foster pets.  Here is some interesting info on breed identification:  https://arrcolorado.org/category/puppy-dog-tips/ Our adoption process is: 1. Fill out our Adoption Application online.  We'll contact you within 48 hours to answer any questions you may have about the pet. 2. If the pet looks like a great match, we'll schedule a meet and greet and ask you to fill out our online Adoption Agreement if you'd like to proceed with adopting.  Once you've completed the Adoption Agreement and pay the pet's Adoption Fee, you can arrange to pick up your new furry family member!   Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. To ensure Peaches #5 finds the best possible home, we ask you fill out our adoption application so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application in the order submitted and will contact you within 48 hours (please check your spam folder for our emails).   Peaches #5 | 12 weeks | Aussie Mix with playful confidence Peaches is an 11-week-old Aussie mix puppy with a confident, playful nature and a big zest for life. At 13 pounds, this girl with unique markings on her face is outgoing, sweet, and always ready to explore. She loves toys, enjoys car rides, and doesn’t let much slow her down. If something new or unexpected happens, Peaches takes it in stride and moves on like a pro. As a young puppy, Peaches is still learning house training and the basics of living in a home. She’s working on crate training and may whine or bark initially, especially when left alone, and she’s still building bladder control. She has been left crated for short periods (3–4 hours) and is making gradual progress. Typical puppy behaviors like play biting are present, and she’s learning what’s appropriate to chew, with food being a helpful motivator. Peaches has had positive interactions with other dogs, including large breeds, and would likely love having another dog in the home. She’s also doing well with cats—she may try to initiate play or chase but is learning boundaries. She hasn’t met children yet but shows no preference between men and women and is generally very social. Peaches will do best in an active, committed home ready to provide training, structure, and plenty of outlets for her energy as she grows.   If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a meet and greet is scheduled. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. Story
Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. To ensure Olive #3 finds the best possible home, we ask you fill out our adoption application so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application in the order submitted and will contact you within 48 hours (please check your spam folder for our emails).   Olive #3 | 12 weeks | Aussie Mix with a confident spark Olive is a 12-week-old Aussie mix puppy with a bold little personality and a whole lot of curiosity. At around 14 pounds, this white-and-merle girl is playful, sweet, and surprisingly fearless for her age. We recently discovered that Olive is deaf, but it doesn’t slow her down one bit—she’s confident, engaged with her environment, and takes everything in stride. She loves toys, playing with her littermates and other dogs in her foster home, and happily switches between zooming around and curling up for snuggles once she’s worn herself out. If something startles her, she recovers quickly and keeps going. Like any young puppy, Olive is just beginning her house-training journey and learning the basics of good manners. She is still getting comfortable with her crate and may whine or bark at first, especially when left alone, and she can’t hold her bladder for long yet. She has been left crated for short periods (about 3–4 hours) and is making steady progress. She’s also working on typical puppy behaviors like play biting and learning to chew on toys instead of hands, with food being a strong motivator. Because she is deaf, her future family should be open to using hand signals and positive reinforcement training, which she is expected to pick up quickly given her intelligence and focus. Olive does very well with other dogs and has had positive interactions with large dogs. She would thrive in a home with another playful pup to help burn off her energy. She’s also doing well with cats—she wants to play and may chase a bit, but is learning boundaries. She hasn’t met children yet but is social and comfortable with both men and women. Olive will do best in an active, committed home that’s excited to provide training, structure, and the extra awareness that comes with raising a deaf puppy—along with all the joy and adventure of puppyhood.   If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a meet and greet is scheduled. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. Story
Name: Ted Breed: Toy Australian Shepherd Sex: Neutered Male Age: 1 year 6 months Weight: 21 lbs Needs Experienced Adopter, We are seeking a foster-to-adopt home for Ted, someone experienced with dogs who have fear-based reactivity and willing to continue working on his behavior with patience, structure, and training support through PawsCo. Good with dogs? Ted may do best as an only dog, as he can be protective of his food and may feel overwhelmed sharing space. Good with cats? No. Good with kids? No. Energy Level: Medium. Ted loves to romp around, explore the backyard, and play with toys. Once his play needs are met, he settles nicely and enjoys relaxing. Behavioral Needs: Ted spent most of his early life outdoors and is still learning how to be a comfortable indoor companion. He’s working on feeling safe, managing his stranger danger, and sharing resources. Because he struggles with being left alone, he will need a home where someone is home often or works from home. Ted is significantly undersocialized and requires very slow, structured introductions to new people and experiences. Continued professional training will be important for his success. About Ted: Ted is a silly little rascal with a big heart who thrives on fun, exploration, and connection. He’s looking for a patient, committed adopter who can help grow his confidence through gentle guidance, consistent training, and thoughtful socialization. Ted is easily frightened by loud noises, barking dogs, and unfamiliar people, but with love and support, he can learn that the world is safe. Despite his rocky start, he is ready to blossom and share his playful, curious, sweet puppy personality with the right person. Please learn more about the adoption process and fill out an application at www.pawsco.org/adopt/adoption-process. You can also contact my friends at PawsCo at adopt@pawscoadoptions.org if you have questions. I look forward to meeting you!
