Baxter has a joyful, wiggly personality and loves being outside. Walks? Yes please. Hiking? Even better. If you toss a toy he'll chase it, but he prefer you chase him around the yard. He's fun and loves to wrestle with bones or rope toys. Inside the home Baxter is low maintenance. He enjoys having his own space, relaxing on his bed, and hanging out nearby while you unwind. He's fully potty trained, up to date on vaccines, neutered, and completed e-collar training- including reliable off-leash skills and a great heel. Who Baxter is looking for Baxter thrives in calm predictable environments, which means he's not a match for homes with young kids. His current family loves him deeply, and re-homing Baxter comes from wanting him to live his happiest, least-stressful life. My name is Tessa, and I am a 9 year old pure-bred mini Australian Shepherd. I have been with one family for most of my life, but almost 2 years ago one of my humans passed away and my other one couldn't take care of me anymore. I have since been with my new family, but they have little children who make me really anxious and scared. I do best in a calm environment where I am the center of attention. Please no children, unless they are older (12 years +) and know how to be calm around me. I grew up with other pets, and can do well with other dogs, I just need to be slowly introduced. I do love cats and do great with them in the home. I am overall a really sweet girl, and will stick to you like glue once I get to know you! I take anxiety medication currently, and am on a special diet because I am overweight. I am up-to-date on all vaccines and will have a copy of my medical records upon adoption with me.

Meet Katy! Katy traveled all the way from a Kansas Humane Society to her foster home in Colorado, and now at just 13 weeks old, she's blossoming into the sweetest little companion. Her foster mom calls her Ruby — inspired by those magical ruby slippers from the Wizard of Oz — because like Dorothy, Ruby's journey from Kansas is leading her to her forever home!   She has spaniel ears and some terrier qualities. I would be surprised if she gets to be 30 pounds.  She's making great strides with her puppy manners and potty training, sleeps through the night like a dream, and enjoys her crate as her cozy sanctuary. She's a playful pup who romps happily with her foster sister and loves snuggles with her people when she is done playing. She is scheduled to be spayed on January 23rd and will be available for adoption after her recovery. Ruby would thrive in any loving home — she's great with dogs, fantastic with people, and has all the makings of a loyal best friend.
