Story
> Handsome and inquisitive Joshua is the epitome of a young pure bred Australian Shepherd with all the bells and whistles of the breed. If you like the curiosity, attention seeking and energy of an Aussie, you are going to love Joshua. This 1 year old is 38 compact pounds and he is immediately ready to love you and be your best sidekick in life. He is very personable and friendly, and will run circles around everyone in the room. Immediately you know this is one smart boy. In less than 2 hours from arriving at his foster home, he learned how to use the doggie door to get in and out, and has had zero accidents in the house. And talking about LOVE? He loves toys. At least twice a day, he empties out the dog toy box, and wants to play with each and every one of them. Joshua really enjoys being around people, and at any given moment, may pop onto your lap without you even knowing he’s nearby. On the occasions that he is still, he does like to be in the lap of, or nearby, his foster people. If you stop petting him, he’ll take your hand in his mouth to remind you what your main mission is at the moment.....to pet him. He loves to be talked to, and in true to Aussie form, will follow you wherever you go. Joshua also enjoys the company of other dogs and will always be the guy that tries to get playtime started. And did we mention how handsome he is? A gorgeous Chestnut Red and lighter red and white, this boy has all the charm and looks that will make the girls swoon! He’s been neutered, chipped, and fully vetted. Other important things to know about Joshua are: He is not a big barker. He usually just barks after his foster dog brother and sister start it up, and he will chime in. He currently spends the night in a crate. After some initial whimpering, stays quiet through the night. We’ve tried to give him free run of the house at night, but it usually ends up with him, jumping on someone’s face in the middle of the night, reminding us he wants some attention and loving pats on the head. Joshua is a really joyful little guy, and thrives on attention and action. It’s important that his adopters understand the personalities and needs of Australian Shepherds. They are very active and curious, and require ways to release all the energy they have. So if you’re looking for a young handsome lad, who is active, loving, and personable, Joshua is your guy.
